I'm told the cocktails are excellent, but I didn't try any myself. Excellent shower. Good kitchenette. Good barista for complimentary coffee in the morning.

Smart tvs were difficult to sign into. They kept disconnecting and then changing to a different sign in name. Maybe a wifi thing, but not a great experience. Haven't had this issue at other hotels. Our room wasn't fully ready upon arrival. An air purifier was left running until someone came to get it later in the day. I think the daily pet cleaning fee is excessive and should be included in the quoted price when booking.

The staff were personable and helpful, allowed me to leave my luggage as I arrived several hours before check-in, and phoned and emailed to advise my room was ready. Appreciated the no-fuss upgrade when I raised concerns re the cleanliness of the Large Heritage Suite I originally booked. The City View Suite was quiet and had a great view as advertised.

Cleanliness was a real concern in both rooms. Visible mould on cupboard doors, floors not vacuumed, stains on bed linen, thick dust build-up, and surfaces not wiped over. Windows are locked shut. Airconditioning either blasted cold air or none at all. Wifi and casting to the TV - which got stuck on the Phillips title screen for hours and had to be reset by staff - was problematic and I gave up. Streaming services are not available as advertised.

We had a two bedroom apartment which was lovely. Our teenage daughter loved the design features so much she wanted to move in! It was great to be able to find a 2 bedroom option at such a reasonable price. We were able to walk to the Queen Street Mall and we really enjoyed the meal we had there. Compliments to the chef. She really served some delicious food. The lamb was melt in your mouth tender. We left early in the morning so we can't comment on breakfast but I believe that only pastries are served. We parked our car in the nearby carpark for $25. It was close and straightforward.

The prices for the mini bar were a bit steep. Needless to say, we had our drinks downstairs in the bar and restaurant area.

Great bougy hotel but room needs a good deep clean. Bar cupboard had a unpleasant smell to it and water for coffee machine was nearly empty which isn't a big deal but added to it needing a better clean. Bed very comfy.

Down stairs bar was really cute.

Unfortunately the room we got was nothing like the images online or on booking.com our room was upgraded also but we were in a room that’s windows looked into the inside of the building and scaffolding. So the room had pretty much no natural light. The lights in the room were very dull, so it was quite dark. The wifi didn’t fully reach the bedroom so I couldn’t work, even though we had booked the room for work purposes so that was frustrating. The room was also very dusty and smelt musty, it set my asthma off. We asked to move rooms but weren’t able to.

Super cozy hotel! Our room was perfect - in fact, it was even bigger than we anticipated. Comfort was a solid 10/10. The location is fantastic, with cafes and restaurants just around the corner if you feel like a change from the hotel’s downstairs cafe, which is really good by the way and has a fantastic vibe. There's also 24/7 parking within a walking distance if you need to leave your car ovenight. I'm unsure if the hotel provides parking. Adding the price of our stay/value and everything else into consideration, this is a great place to stay.

- The complimentary water was not supplied. - There is no proper breakfast option, only coffee and pastries which were in fact really good and really appreciated. - The bathroom shower has no door and one of us almost slipped upon getting out, as the floor gets covered in water easily if you're not careful.

This is a beautiful hotel. It's got a lot of old architecture that has been nicely restored and maintained. The hotel has a lot of great character and atmosphere. Staff were very helpful. Location is also excellent including being a stones throw from Central Station if you catch the 'Air Train' from the airport. The room is well maintained with lots of classic small touches eg. sanitary kits and shower caps, minibar.

It's a very small note but the room can feel a little bit small and dark simply due to the layout having to work around the character of the old building; and the windows facing into the central stairwell. However, the room has a lot of lovely lighting provided for all variety of ambience and my room had a spacious sofa area attached to the room. If you prefer bright, naturally lit rooms this wouldn't be for you. If you don't mind, then this hotel is absolutely excellent. I will be staying here again.

We were welcomed by a friendly receptionist, de hotel looked really nice and it has a bit of a vintage lift. The room was very big and the rain shower was great.

We moved rooms because the tap in the bathroom wasn't working. I'm glad we moved rooms because there was a cockroach in the cupboard where the little kitchen was.

The staff welcome and the homely art deco vibe was beautiful. I would like the room number added on my record as it was a fabulous room. Record player and 4 poster bed. Absolutely stunning bathroom. I had a fabulous sleep in that room.

The old world charm of the lobby and the generous room size

At 11:15am I dropped our suitcase off as we were heading out to lunch. When we arrived back at 2:45pm we said we were hear to check in we were given a glass of cold water and asked to sit and cool down they gave us our suitcase After 10min we were still waiting to be checked in so we went to the reception desk and asked if we could please be taken to our room as I had already done an online check in the night before When we got to our room we discovered that there streaming services were not working so we called reception to come and investigate we told them that we had booked this room so we could have our girls night of watching Bridgeton and drinking champagne We told them that there were no slippers in the room and the light bulb in the chandelier was broken They said sorry and this then turned into 4 more visits from staff attempting to fix the tv we did eventually get our slippers the streaming services were not available the lights were not functioning properly It was very frustrating because we couldn’t watch our shows and it was just disappointing The staff were not rude just didn’t understand or know how to respond communicate the truth They offered us a complementary cocktail and kept coming to our room to try and help us

It was easy to find, right next to the Central train station and the reception area was super cool, and smelt amazing. Staff were friendly and the room was comfortable and a good size. We were so impressed with our stay.

Upon arrival into our room, the bathroom flooded from one of the sinks. They didn’t even move us rather gave us towels which we had to keep upon the floor the whole stay. Our room was right next to the old style lift which made a continuous creaking sound upon use. Then we had about 8 air conditioning units right outside our room which buzzed right throughout the night. Not much sleep was had. We had to have the iron replaced as it was damaged and rusty. Reception is literally in the bar/ restaurant area. It does have a unique design, but not worth staying at all. The floors in the bathroom were also very dirty. Wouldn’t be back. Only real positive was location, but there are still even closer to the water and the river.

Fabulous hotel with old world charm and modern amenities! Comfy bed, quiet and private! Excellent staff and a wonderful stay!

No restaurant/room service open on the weekends we were there.

Good location. The decor and styling.

Grab and go breakfast. Lack of staff. Having to ring on own phone for service at reception. No weekend evening entertainment or food service in bar area/restaurant.

Moody decor and location

I’ve stayed here quite a few times but this time something was missing. It used to be a lot nicer, I think the rooms need a bit of a soft reno, especially the bathrooms. It’s lost its charm A bit.

Bed too soft for me and i was in the windowless room in the 2 bed room. No breakfast available (was there Mon and Tues mornings)
