Being next to the pool

I understand the house rules an to keep tidy when leave. But when we went to used some items if they won't dirty they where broken more care needs be put into that when people check out. We had one room with no air con an there no staff on weekends an we try call number was provided on Friday we check in there no extra parking an when ask about vistor parking no reply as well I went for walk there was none anywhere an people park in places that won't a park. Coming into the under ground car port there was big industry bin in was witch made hard to turn and out without hitting as there was alot cars in way on side road.

The apartment was very ill equipped very little in the kitchen to be able to cook anything with. Didn’t even have a plug that fit the sink. The potatoe peeler and the two knives were blunt. Ok for a 2 night stay but no long. Regretted booking the whole 7nights of our stay there. Other than the pools and the beautiful food in the Thai restaurant the rest was very disappointing. One step up from camping in my opinion. Very tired looking resort

See above Also if someone is staying 7nights more toilet paper and detergent for washing dishes is necessary. Cutting a pots and pans scourer in half is a real sad looking thing to do and straight away turned us off the whole apartment. Cutting corners like that is just too cheap and reduces the experience to like I said a feeling of one step above camping. The little things would have made the world of difference

Two bedroom deluxe - layout was amazing! Super clean, lots of privacy. Two bathrooms was the absolute cherry on top. And the on-site Thai restaurant was super delicious and in a lovely setting. We saw lots of locals coming to dine as well, always a good sign! We didn't use the resort facilities but this place would be awesome for families with young kids - a couple of interesting ponds to check out, and heaps of pools.

No elevator, we were at the top floor and struggled a lot with luggage. Uber and taxi are to pick and drop off customers at the main entrance/ reception which was quite far from our apartment. Not convenient when carrying luggage and on hot days.

The apartments are big and well equipped. We had everything we needed for kitchen and laundry. Large balcony and rooms. Aircons worked and shower/bathroom was good. Beds were comfortable. 3 pools to choose from all close to apartments.

Pools are looking a bit tired and need maintenance. Lots of sandflies due to being near the lakes- make sure you take your repellent. Our apartment had a lift however it was very hot inside the lift. The whole resort looks like it needs a bit of a reno.

Carpark roof leaked during heavy rain and deposited a calcium like substance onto the car. Reported to reception who allowed us to park in another carpark spot. Swimming pool is in direct sunlight all day, water temp was more warm than cool in mid December.

The accommodation was not clean; there were still slippers from the previous guests under the bed, cigarettes in the sofa, no garden furniture, and the pool was also not clean. We did not have a good experience here. Upon arrival, we had to wait for a very long time. On weekends, the reception is closed, and it took a very long time to get in touch with someone from the 'resort,' even though we had communicated this well in advance. Very disappointing. The door to the apartment was also very difficult to open and close. We do not recommend this place.

There are lots of facilities including 4 pools, spa, BBQs, tennis court, basketball court and onsite restaurant, which make the stay nicer. Units are spacious and comfortable. Very centrally located.

Some facilities are not well-maintained with half-repaired decks, sauna not working and dirty BBQs. The after hours key access is difficult. Great resort that needs some TLC.

The location of the property was good, nice and close to the airport. I also liked the resort was gated as Cairns North can be quite dangerous.

Everything was really difficult to find and not clearly signed,eg bins, car garage. The apartment was actually really dirty, we had to wash all of the dishes before we could use them as they were covered in a film. One of the showers would not stay up at all and could not be used. The keys for the apartment were sticky and the door was very hard to unlock, also with the door the interior chain had been removed so it did not feel secure. Reception could not be contacted over the weekend so we were unable to get and pool towels and were not offered them on check in. All the mattresses in this place were filthy, they were all heavily stained and smelly. If we could have found something else we would have left.

Room was great. Much larger than we expected. The kids love the pools and walking around the complex. The Thai restaurant is a must to try. Food and staff were great.

The resort it's self is a bit run down and getting in and out of the uncover carparks was very tight. Reception didn't really know much about the running of things and seemed quite confused when asked any question. In her defense she was young and may have still been training?

I recently stayed at The Lakes Resort Cairns Unit 1328 from 21 March 2025 to 23 March 2025, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. While I expected a comfortable and well-maintained environment, I encountered several issues that need to be addressed. 1. Hygiene Issues: Rotten food was left in a black shopping box on top of the fridge, including spoiled oranges and a sweet potato with a stalk growing from it. This is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about cleanliness standards. 2. Ant Infestation: The kitchen area had a noticeable ant problem, making food preparation unhygienic and unpleasant. 3. General Cleanliness: While the facility appeared tidy, it was not clean. The shower had an unpleasant odor, seemingly from being cleaned with a dirty mop. The air conditioning units and ceiling fans were covered in dust. 4. Maintenance Issues: The second bedroom’s balcony had a hole in the roof that had not been repaired, which is both unsightly and a potential hazard. 5. Overall Facility Condition: The entire complex appeared run-down, and the reception staff were unhelpful, making the stay even more frustrating. I find it disappointing that such basic standards of cleanliness and maintenance were not met. I would not recommend this facility. Put simply this facility is run down and a cat fish accommodation.

when did booking it advertised ground floor but when we arrived it was 2 lots steps to go up with no lift-husband bad knees and back, had to carry luggage, food etc and I had back surgery -reason for trip-so without lift terrible. arrived too late to ask to fix if at all possible, surgery 7am-before office open. Car park squeezed into corner also bad post surgery trying to squeeze into spots to pack up with doors half closed.

No staff on due to public holiday an wkend. Fire alarm kept going off for no reason. Our car space was taken from some random and we had to move 3 times to get a park space. Only given 1 rubbish bin bag for 5 days not ideal.

Swimming lap pool and Thai restaurant. Food, price and service exceptional.

Carrying 3 suitcases up 2 flights of stairs. No assistance or pre warning. At 75yrs this would have been impossible with out assistance of young tourist in nearby unit. No staff could be contacted what so ever. You need to advice there are no lifts and no staff at complex.

Loved the pool facilities. Apartment was clean and spacious. Dedicated parking. Great location.

Reception is not present on weekends/public holidays. Checkout process when reception is closed wasn't clear as there was no dropbox to drop the keys.

Beautiful resort like feel, generous apartment and good security system

There were no elevators to the upper floors had to drag up our heavy bags which was unpleasant after a long day of travelling. Kitchen would have been better with a good clean of drawers, cutlery and pots

The property was beautiful. The apartment were huge and had all the amenities.

The property advertised themselves as a resort. However, it was more like an AirBNB. There were actually residents owning and residing in the apartments style resort. Not sure why they would use the word resort as it can mislead.

2 br apartment was very large, clean and mostly quiet. Supplied is tea, coffee, hot chocolate, clothes washing powder (as well as private washer and dryer). Only a few minutes drive from the Esplanade. Location is very secure with gated entry to the complex.

Spa bath of neighbouring room was a bit noisy when left running all night. Reception is closed on weekends (but there is an after hours number to call). Parking garage is a bit tight for large 4WD cars and underground garage is also hard to get in to. Nevertheless, I would highly recommend this accommodation

The Thai restaurant was excellent. Our apartment was in a Nice location by the pool.

As soon as we entered, it smelled very strongly of ?cat urine. The tiles felt very grimy, we couldn’t walk around without shoes on. The carpet was the same and absolutely stank like cat urine. We let the reception staff know straight away and nothing was done about it.

We arrived at night late due to flight delays so had to pick the keys and instructions from the locked box The map provided was ok but the location of the garage was not indicated so it took a while to find. Quite confusing. The building names were difficult to see at night also so it was a bit stressful initially

Overall the resort is nice and within walking distance to town. The Thai restaurant was good and the staff friendly.

There was no advice that the reception desk is not open in the weekend and we would have a two hour wait, in the sun with no shelter or seating, to get our key. The room was advertised with a large double bed. We got two singles pushed together, both were worn and had a very hard outside border, creating a very uncomfortable piece in the middle of the bed. Not a good night sleep! The room was very dirty - we would not sit on the couches as they were so stained and disgusting.

My partner and I had our Anniversary and we both really enjoyed our stay. Experiencing the restaurant was exceptional. We felt welcomed and overjoyed. We definitely will come there again. Brought back childhood reasons.

The apartment is large enough for the couple. The price matches the value. I forgot to take the credit card and money inside the room when I checked out. I contacted the staff when I realised I left the money and the various cards after 2 hours left the resort. The staff helped me to reentered the room and collected the money and cards I left.

I wish the resort provides room service if the customers stay over 3 days.
