After my flight had been cancelled I arrived to the hotel around midnight having to walk down the laneway off Little Collins St to get to the hotel past 3 individuals urinating on the side of the building. Not strictly the hotel’s problem, but I’m painting the picture here. I was then made to wait 15 minutes after trying to check in. There were apparently system issues with the reservation from Booking.com that meant the King room was not actually available. All they had left was a triple room (ie.3 x single beds) which was offered to me at the same price. This suite also turned out to be the disabled room which therefore meant the shower was mounted too low, and the bed was too small. The air con was also not able to be adjusted and set too cold also. I stayed for 6 hours as there was no alternative option at that time, but the whole experience was poor.
