The location is amazing, very near to the supermarket, the beds are pretty comfortable, the neighborhood is very pleasant and the day staff are very hard workers. Paula and Guido do their best to make the place clean, organized and well-maintained for everyone. But you always have to remember that it is a hostel, with lots of people and even when the staff do their best, people are living there, you have to accept this. The kitchen is pretty good, the backyard is comfortable, the TV room has video games, Netflix, YouTube, and some books. You can make the place a good one for your stay.

I felt like literally a home with nice staffs and guests there, it was comfortable and also a good location since there are lots of cafes nearby and it only takes 10 minutes to the center of Sydney(CBD). It's more of a shared house rather than average hostels you imagine in a good way.

A group of long term guests really made the stay memorable. Great community atmosphere and a real mixing pot of culture.

Bunk beds with people in their early 20s often means being woken up late at night or early in the morning. Communal bathrooms will always be a little gross. But with daily cleaning they always felt hygienic. This is just the reality of shared hostel living.

Staff, location, price

People live in the hostel like if they are alone. Make noise all the night until 4am and sometimes leave the room door open for no reason during the night. I understand it was Saturday night but some respect to others is not to much difficult. And the cleanning need to be check too..

Great location. Staff were super nice.

Overall what you get for your money - this has been one of the most expensive hostels i’ve ever been to, and the worst. I would rather spend 10-20 more dollars each night for a hostel without cockroaches in the room, kitchen and bathroom. I am usually not so picky about hostels, but the cockroaches really made me uncomfortable - especially in the kitchen and in my room.

The staff were super friendly, the lounge area was really great, very spacious with good facilities. The beds were comfy enough and pretty spacious. Good for a short stay I would say, any longer, look elsewhere.

There was only 3 bathrooms (one other one on the ground floor but had no lock) for the whole hostel which was a nightmare. You could be waiting for absolutely ages to get in there- really poor planning. I'm also almost certain I saw a mouse in the kitchen, which isn't surprising as there was food on the floor and the garden door open.

Firstly, the staff are amazing! Very helpful and welcoming! The hostel had a homely feel to it as apposed to a business. Had all the facilities and amenities I needed. Great location! The location where this hostel is very calm and quite compared to other locations I have stayed in Sydney so far

The room stinks like hell, I opted for 6 sharing. The room smelled of used clothes, bed sheets that were not changed for ages I guess. However, our bedsheets were okay. It looked like they had two people staying there for long duration and their stuff smelled badly including the room. Overpriced for the kind of hospitality we experienced. We paid the similar price later for another hostel and they had it well maintained. The Problem is surely with this hostel maintenance. I do not recommend this.

Reasonable pricing allowing for a budget stay in Sydney, as opposed to most competitors in town. Free homecooked dinner available every night (one less thing to think about + brings guests together) is a rarity, a big plus and tremendous value. Friendy owner. Comfy bed with curtain. Reasonably clean bathrooms in sufficient number for amount of guests. All the basics, which may be everything you need, are covered.

Internal common areas are truly minimal and uninviting. The external common area (for day use only) is spacious instead and has huge potential, but needs some love, hygiene and care, at a minimum, and maybe some decoration. Breakfast did not materialize during my stay (but dinner, which reliably did, more than compensated that!). The kitchen is very small for the amount of guests (but you may not need to use it much because free dinner), and does get cleaned on a daily basis but could use some more thorough cleaning (sticky handles etc.). --- The above are suggestions for improvement on things whithin management control. Most negatives, unfortunatey, are related to guests' own behavior and beyond the control of management: dear fellow travelers, make a point of being nice or at least not being a dick to others (e.g. overserving yourself before everyone has eaten, or leaving your dirty dishes and pots lying around, which make a mess of the common space and are NOT a responsibility of the cleaning staff tomorrow but your own today). Even small spaces can be pleasantly shared, with some consideration towards each other, the host and the staff. If we make our part, things get much better much faster for all.

Mirjana is the best host and an amazing cook! Didn't have a single bad dinner. This is amazing especially considering that it is all complimentary! The rooms are really nice with good facilities! Absolutely loved it there!!!
