In the center of Bruges, just under half a mile from the central Market Square with the Belfry of Bruges and a 2-minute walk from 't Zand concert building, Hotel Portinari is surrounded by a range of restaurants. The location was amazing, very central.

The rooms were absolutely freezing. The windows and doors have such a big draft, which stops the heating from working as it can’t heat the room enough. The bathroom didn’t have a door that fully shut, with the toilet in there too which isn’t very pleasant. It was also unbearably cold in the bathroom.

Loved the location and the hotel/room really had personality! Also, it was clean, the staff were really helpful and the breakfast delicious!

Not the hotel’s fault but didn’t realise that the square was being used for a festival and the music was very loud and the windows were not sufficient to block it out. Had to go and buy war plugs for everyone. We were in a junior sweet for 4 so a door on the bathroom would have been good!

The interior design of the room. 1) The location of TV which is on the side wall makes impossible to watch it from the bed. 2.The location of the chairs under the TV is very bad and there is a limited space in front of the desk if we want to change their place. 3. The glass bathroom wall which supposed to be a modern decoration is terrible. 4. Modern self- standing lavatory without any shelve for our staff (toothpaste etc) is not convenient. 5. The lighting system is not efficient (The interior designer should have considered all these details in addition to the others .Please check whether this room was designed by a professional or not.

The location is fantastic, especially for a first time visit to Brugge. We really enjoyed the room, as a family of 3 travelling with a teenager can be tricky trying to get the right amount of space etc. We chose a suite option for the night in Hotel Pontinari and is was brilliant, so were the staff at reception that had the most beautiful scent to it, a funny this to remember but it made arriving at the hotel really unique. So, for me, I would go back to hotel Pontinari any time and enjoy Brugge.

The location is amazing, it was really close to transport and food options and the room was a lot bigger than expected. The hotel has been recently redecorated so everything feels new.

The room was absolutely freezing the whole time we were there. The staff could not care less. The air conditioning unit could not keep up with the draft coming from behind a fixed cabinet below an external wall. Temperatures outside were minus 6 degrees Celsius (minus 11 degrees accounting for wind chill), so even if the AC was on the hottest temperature and the highest fan speed we could not get the room to warm up. We had a 7-month-old baby and he had to sleep in the bed with us - he would have been too cold to sleep in the cot. We asked the staff to check and they reluctantly sent someone. They said it was a filter issue, and that it should be OK after. It was not. The room was still freezing. We told the staff again and they said that there was nothing wrong and their "system" was showing the room was warm. What kind of answer is that?

The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms were spotless clean. We appreciated the small box of chocolate for our birthday person.

The property did not have facilities that would make it a 4-star accommodation. It was maybe 2 stars. I have stayed at much better 3-star properties. We had a coffee machine only in one of the rooms. The kettle was also only in one room. There was no hand soap for both rooms. The room size of the double or twin room was super small. We had to open the sinks as they had been clogged off by the cap. No bathrobes or sandals.

Super friendly staff on the reception desk, spotlessly clean rooms which were so sound-proofed even considering their location is overlooking the market square of Bruges. We were staying whilst the Cycle race from Bruges to Ypres was on both days and we heard no noise at all from all the setting up. We had two different rooms in this hotel, the first night we had a view overlooking the city and the second (which we spontaneously booked at reception) was overlooking the busy market square. The receptionist was so kind, helpful and friendly and she gave us a beautiful room that will be unforgettable for us. I am sorry I didn’t get her name, but she had dark hair and told us she was actually Slovenian and not Belgian. The breakfast looked fantastic, however we didn’t go for it either morning. The hotel is modern all over, it’s so clean everywhere you look and it has such a welcoming and warm feel. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone, and I wish to come again!

It’s a lovely hotel in old town. Perfect location. Beautiful and clean rooms.

Warning, there is a bar downstairs that can be loud until dawn. And on Saturday morning there is a wondeful market in the square. They start setting up before dawn. If you are a light sleeper, ask for a room away from the front.

Modern room is on the top floor has sky celling makes the room bright , location is 10 mins walk from the train station, Breakfast is good lot of choices, on the first night i have trouble to get room temperature up to warm , blowing cold air — called reception, receptionist came up to help but couldn’t get the heating going (blowing cold air) I was cold all night didn’t have shower, second morning (20th) I went down talked to different lady on the desk she was telling me she (the receptionist on duty last night) should provide me with the heater last night but she didn’t. 20th April morning on duty lady put the heating on from the reception I got warm straight away 26deg.C. When I checked out on 21st April the lady on the desk said to me I should be happy I had one night warm comfortable —I said I have one night comfortable is not good enough which I have paid 2 nights not one night , I should have get refund for one night? She said she is not the manager she cannot do that. I hope the manager is listening do the decent thing to give my refund ………..

Details show a bar on site this is not the case the bar was not stocked and not in use you could get water but not a lot else. So this was misleading and a little upsetting. However the location meant there were plenty of bars/restaurants right outside.

Location is excellent! Walking distance from the station and into the centre. The deluxe junior suite is spacious for 4 adults.

There is no privacy for a group of 4 people when using the shower, as there was only a thin net curtain dividing the bathroom from the sleeping area. There was no shower curtain for a shower without flooding the area and it would be helpful to have the shower head on the wall. The toilet is thankfully separate. The light in the seating area pull down bed was flickering throughout our visit and we did report this on arrival. Nothing was done to stop this, not even the bulb taken out. Also the tap in the bathroom leaked a lot! We had to keep a towel down to avoid flooding. Again, this was reported. There were no plug sockets at all by the pull down bed, considering we were 4 adults in there. Also the coffee facilities were set up for 2 people not 4. So the room was not well considered for 4 adults. Would have been great if just 2 people.

The location of the hotel for the main areas of Bruges was very good, and it was within walking distance from the station.

On the first night I was given a room at the back of the hotel. During the night I was kept awake by the noise of the air condition units for the hotel that were located directly outside and which were visible from the window. There was also a vague 'drain smell' in the room during the night. In the morning I spoke to reception who immediately transferred me to a far better bedroom at the front of the hotel which was great.

The staff at the hotel were very helpful and welcoming. They took good care of us for any issues that arose and were very happy to help and took pride in the hotel and our stay. The breakfast here is very good. Real eggs (not powdered) and lots of different things for everyone. I definitely recommend the breakfast and appreciate the hotel granting us a free breakfast for the minor issues in our room. I would definitely recommend and stay here again for both the location, friendly staff, and hopefully better room quality.

I was disappointed to find our room in a rather worn-out condition. The bathroom tap had a leak which we reported right away, but none of the light switches worked properly, and one light flickered on and off like a strobe. Additionally, the paint was chipping. I think its fair to expect higher quality at 250 EURO/Night. It seems this hotel is heavily visited and know the hotel will address the issues. They were fair in addressing the issue and offering a complimentary breakfast for the hassle, which was appreciated and welcomed.

Friendly staff who gave us a helpful map of the city and when we asked for an iron they sent one to the room immediately. Beds were comfortable and extremely clean bathroom. Had a TV with a working Chromecast which is rare these days so was able to stream easily. Hotel itself was pretty quiet despite the busy location.

Flickering lights. Restaurant wasn't open due to refurbishment (which is fine but was not told this prior to stay so was expecting room service). Room was quite small considering the price. Was pretty plain and basic for a 4 star hotel. No coffee machine just a small kettle. You have to request the mini bar be filled fully and pay before staying rather than having the choice to take drinks while there and just take what you want and have individual drinks charged for instead. No number was given to contact hotel reception directly from the hotel room phones.

Bathrooms are open esp doesn't make sense for triple room. I had x3 teenager siblings, 2 boys and girl. We had to book an extra bed
