Excellent location and right next to the central market place and belfry tower. The only thing you miss is a stay by the canal.
No room service, no kettles or cups in the room. You need to get everything from a glass to a cup of hot water from the reception. Having said that if you're ok doing that the staff is quite helpful. For the price you pay without the basic facilities/service is quite disappointing.

With our vacation having started on the wrong foot with a very (very) wrong choice of apartment in Ghent, Martin Brugge's was a god send and our salvation. We checked in very early in the morning after having left the Ghent apartment overnight. The room was ready for us, super clean, and super comfortable. Excellent bathroom. Helpful staff, and unparalleled location a stone thrown away from the main square and a secondary equally busy square. Will not only most certainly return but will definitely recommend. Two thumbs up and 5 stars all around. THANK YOU MARTIN'S BRUGGE!

Hotel and rooms are tired and show a lot of wear and tear . Even if that can be overlooked, our room and bathroom was dirty. Towels were stained, wardrobe was so dirty the dust stained our clothing that we packed onto shelves. Bathroom tiles are greasy and dirty and linen had the hair of previous guest. The housekeeping is clearly problematic. No water provided for rate charged and no coffee facility in rooms. All issues that are very standard in a hotel charging 200 + per night. Average on all levels. Breakfast was above average but the staff all seem to be interns and students with little to no guest experience. Inattentive, unfriendly, disinterested. Felt like we were back packers. Paid
for a late checkout but could not wait to leave and get out.

The wifi was terrible. Very spotty and logged me out often. Also, because you're so close to the bell tower, you will hear the bells every 15 minutes (from 9a-9p)
