Hotel Dumanov - Bansko

Enjoying a great location next to the base station of the cabin elevator in Bansko, Hotel Dumanov is built in a traditional style with stone and wooden elements. A steam bath, a hot tub and a fitness center can be used for free. Free internet and free parking are provided.

I think having a booking system for the spa facilities would be beneficial as we tried to use it once and it was full and we kept going to check if free and the majority of the time the men who were using it was just having a break on the benches outside the hot tub and my daughter who is young didnโ€™t feel comfortable to use the facilities while others where sat extra close by

Location of the property was Prime! Only 5 mins walking from the Ski Lift. Breakfast was really tasty with enough options to choose from. The staff and the owner were definitely something else that i have never experienced. In Bansko they say that you come as a customer and you leave as a friend. And this owner was no different. He really became our friend at the end of the journey. For sure will visit again. Thank you for everything.

The location was excellent. We were only a 5 minute walk away from the main Gondola lift and our ski hire which was located on the same street. All of the staff were very welcoming and were more than happy to help you at any time and the room was maintained daily including fresh towels. The sauna and jacuzzi were great after a full day skiing and they were clean. The restaurant attached to the hotel had great food and great prices which is also discounted if you stay with Dumanov.

The pillows were terrible, they were small and rock solid and it could get quite noisy in our room due to the nearby restaurants playing music. This was mainly due to having the balcony door slightly open to let cold fresh air in through the night as it got really warm in the room. The noise was hardly an issue when the door was closed. The room also stunk of smoke which was mainly noticeable after we'd got back to the room and the cleaners had been round.

Great location, warm rooms (this is very important for Bansko) and great restaurant at the hotel.

Despite great hotel's restaurant breakfasts were quite avarage. Furniture in our room was quite outdated, it wasn't comfortable to sleep. Also note that there is no elevator at the hotel. Unfortunately not all of hotel staff were friendly, probably this is biggest disappointment.

1st thing: they provided me a big double bed , but the bed sheet where not fully covered the entire bed- like this i was able to see the dirty mattress; so i asked for a big bed sheet , the lady from reception gave me another one similar with the exiting one ( 2 smalls) so i had to work a bit to cover the bed using 2 sheets; This wasn't an issue , since in my ski vacation i really enjoy making the beds and cleaning in the hotel rooms ( LOL); 2nd: dirty glasses in the room 3rd: sauna needs improvements; also the furniture is outdated

I liked the way staff if cheerfull. Also liked the spa. Some of the parking spots are near hotel(only 4). I liked the way rooms are heated also there was a big bathroom with shower cabin and free shampoo.

I didn't like the offer for breakfast thats starts at the time gondola starts lifting. So you miss the que and wait a long way for you to get to the top of the mountain. Breakfast was also expensive 7e 14lev is too much for what they offered.

I donโ€™t even know where to start, the attitudes of the โ€œbossโ€ of the hotel, the reception is doing a favour that they are answering u. And of course we did power reservation through booking when we came to the hotel they told us to cancel it and do it through them we said no and we paid cash like booking said, 1 hour later I saw that the โ€œbossโ€ cancel ours reservation and told booking we didnโ€™t came because he wanted the money directly to them and not through booking. There is a ski room in the hotel, where you can leave your equipment free of charge. Gondola is within walking distance. There are few hotel parking spaces, but there is a large public parking behind the hotel free of chare, where we parked.

These are very minor and more for information than a criticism. The room got too hot at times, no tea spoon. This is not a brand new hotel so set your expectations accordingly. Limited space for a triple but we managed fine and the photos accurately show this

Our room was spacious, well-appointed, and very comfortable. The hotel is located a few minutes walk from the gondola and surrounded by good restaurants, supermarkets, and lovely street food. We would book there again in a heartbeat!

My only negative was that our room was on the first floor, above the street. Bansko is a lively resort and there's a 24h supermarket opposite the hotel. We experienced quite a bit of noise late into the night, my son slept through this however I'm a light sleeper and on occasion was woken up. I enjoyed the hotel too much to reduce my rating, but if you want quiet, ask for a room away from the street.

Dumanov Hotel is in great location. only 5 minutes walk to the gondola supermarket is available in an immediate vicinity It's cozy. We got a room with a fireplace. I wholeheartedly recommend the Familia restaurant in the same building as the hotel. For true immersing into the Bulgarian culture. You won't regret!

For families it would be very helpful to have: - washing machine (not necessarily in the room) or laundry service (the paid one is quite far - 15min walk) - dishwasher (just to save time) Other than that, the place is great and gives great value for money.
