We have already stayed several times in this beautiful hotel located near the center of Sofia. The rooms are huge and very clean with wonderful bathroom. There is a free parking included if you are travelling by car. We will most likely stay again, when we visit Sofia next time.

The staff and facilities were excellent. The location is excellent as it’s near all downtown sightseeing places. I would also like to mention that our son had very high fever during our last day of our stay and the staff in charge Mr Vasil arranged for hospital doctors to visit us in the room and gave necessary medication and prescription. He made sure that he stayed with the doctors and translated to English all that they said. So it was very helpful for us. Thanks again to the team at the breakfast area and also the staff who arranged airport drop off at a moment notice. In all I would recommend Grand hotel for guests visit Sofia.

During the winter time you can’t control the temperature at all and you can’t open the windows to get fresh air because they’re not meant to open. The room was extremely clean and was equipped with everything you would expect from a Grand Hotel such as bathtub, work desk, amenities, bathrobe, slippers, etc. The location is fantastic as it is walkable distance to tourist attractions, famous Bulgarian restaurants and metro stations.

I am a regular weekends visitor to the Grand and it is one of the best hotels in Bulgaria. However after 4 visits this year, the hotel should have systems that alert staff and give a regular guest special treatment. Further to be charged a relatively high parking fee when there is limited street parking was not good and felt like a rip off.

No recognition of a frequent guest and over charging for parking. I will look at other options next time.

The location is quite good and the room was large. There is a beautiful park behind the hotel.

The hotel is dark, dated, and smelled strongly of mustard. The bed was uncomfortable and hard. For the price, I would have expected the hotel to provide us with free breakfast and parking. Instead, they asked us immediately to upgrade for "surprises" and additional add-ons. My friend elected a surprise upgrade for 30 euro and we still have no idea what it entailed. Parking is an extra 30 euro a day. The elevator is old, slow, and will close on you if you do not move out of the way fast. The value for the price at this hotel is quite poor -- I would not stay again.

One thing I didn’t like was the staff being strictly punctual. At ten am, the breakfast buffet closes, my husband wanted a last coffee from the coffee machine at 10:02. The staff said you need to pay, it is after 10. It wasn’t even 10:05. Other than that, my entire stay was great.

Location is great, room was really big, bathtub and shower in the room

I am not a complaining type, hope the hotel takes my feedback as constructive criticism. -no ramp is available anywhere at the premises. If you have a baby trolley you will have to work your way through the steps to the entrance and to the elevators every time. Sad thing is nobody seems to care to help at all. Same with the suitcases, you need to climb stairs. -elevator door shuts suddenly and sensors need a second to step in. If there is someone in between, they will be hit quite hardly before doors open back -rooms are not clean at all, especially the sofas are not cleaned for long time! (When you have kids they tend to do gymnastics on pillows that’s how we found out) -pillows are paper thin -hair dryer is so weak it took 15 minutes to dry my 7 year old daughter’s hair -no windows no fresh air in the place which gives us headaches every morning -there was only one thing that could take all these away which is hospitality but it was missing also! You expect at least a smile and some greeting in a five star hotel. Nobody really asked us how we are doing during the stay and at the checkout the lady didn’t ask how was our stay etc. -€30 per day for car park? This is really too much

The location is perfect, its easy to walk everywhere. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was polite

Comfortable beds, great buffet breakfast, and staff was very helpful. The restaurant staff would warm up my daughter's left overs as we had no microwave. The staff gave good directions and always wanted to do a good job. The bathroom was very nice with a chair to sit in and grab bars for safety. I enjoyed the long counter by the sink for our toiletries. This was the best bathroom we have ever had in Europe.

Our room was near a staff staging area for the banquet rooms, two nights it was loud until midnight. Really awful to sleep. Also, only nonsmoking area for restaurant was inside but it was busy one night with a party, so we had to eat outside, and no place was saved for nonsmokers. My daughter got a lungful of smoke and was sick for one day after this, having to take inhalers and medicine as she is allergic to smoke. One staff member was "rude" to us about this and even said he hoped they never made a place for nonsmokers outside. We tried to eat in the little cafe but that staff said we could not order from the restaurant in there and also a man would stand and smoke in the doorway with door open. The smoke issue is very rude to most people, there should at least be a small place outside where smokers can't sit and make folks sick. Non smokers are forced inside or they have to get sick by the smoke. Also the dinner food we got that night was not cooked well but it was like 9 pm and too late for us to go anywhere else.

The gym is not good if that is important for you. It is not just small, but there is no water or much equipment. No yoga mats.
