Very nice place if you just landed in Vancouver and want a place to stay. Aircondition in the room. I stayed at Marpole in two different rooms (two separate stays). The large room has a private bathroom with a shower. Large bed and tv. The smaller room has a shared bathroom with one other room. Newly renovated rooms and bathrooms. Excellent host and very clean and tidy. There are common areas downstairs with a dining table, sink, refrigerator, cooking possibilities and even a manual training bike, which I didnt use.
If you enjoy going for a run or just a walk, there is a park not far away where you can do both. Short distance to the bus. Roughly 15 minutes walk to the sky train.

The bed in the king room needs to be replaced. We found out we were staying with other people which was a shock. The parking is on the street and hard to get a place. Owner wants people to not wear shoes in the place. The owner has sticky notes all over the walls which looks tacky. Furniture has covers all over it. That looks tacky also.

The room is very clean and spacious, and smells really nice. The house overall (including the washroom) was very clean.
The room was upstairs so it was hard to move luggage up and down. There are also no trash bin, mirror or other amenities in the room.

The bed was very comfortable and I loved the bathtub! Everything was very new and freshly renovated and the soaps/shampoos were quality products. Was very happy with the location because our flight was super early and it was very close to the airport without traffic noise. There were other guests but we didn't hear them at all.
Going up and down the narrow stairs with heavy luggage was a pain but we were able to leave the biggest suitcases downstairs (with luggage locks) so that we had more space in the room.

The location is very close to the airport (our reason for staying there) and is a 10 minute walk from Granville Street which has some tasty restaurants and a chain grocery store and several bus lines going up and down Granville. There are 3 rooms upstairs in this guest house (one king with its own bathroom and two queens that share a bathroom) and our queen room was adequately big with a comfy bed and soft sheets and duvet. The bathroom across the hall was big with a wonderful walk in shower with two shower heads. There was no TV in the room but the common room downstairs had two sofas and a big screen TV and a dining table and a kitchen (which we did not use). We did not want to lug our heavy bags up and down the narrow stairs so we were allowed to leave them in the common room (with no problem and felt safe doing so). The hostess was friendly and gracious and she explained how everything worked. Everything was clean and the amenities basic.

Keep in mind that the guest house is in a safe middle class neighborhood with no frills and no sign identifying the property as a guesthouse and the shops and restaurants on Granville Street are typical of a suburban neighborhood - very basic but not like what you would find in downtown - no complaints but want the reader to be mindful of what the area offers.

It is close to the airport and ok for a one-night stay. The bedding was clean & there was a kitchen to use.
There was nowhere to put bags, apart from on the floor. The rooms were surface level cleaned, but no deep cleaning. Grubby along skirting boards, over light switches. No towels in bathroom upstairs. Everything was tired looking, seriously needed a paint & fixing the broken gate as you enter. Codes were emailed, but too late on arrival date if you don't have WIFI for door code. Consequently we had to 'prove' who we said we were to be allowed in by the manager. Kitchen utensils were sadly lacking, teaspoons, but nothing larger.

The check out time is at 11am, the housekeeper should not be there before that time. We stay 3 nights, every nights there were other people staying 1 night. The minute they were living in the morning the housekeeper arrive to clean the room. So at 7am the washing/drying machine was ON. One morning, we were trying to do our breakfast and she was there passing behind us to replace the stuff. Not only it was super annoying but it felt like we were being watch.

The property was a short distance from the Airport, suited our needs for a one-night stay. Selection of places to eat, not too far from the property to walk to. Helpful and clear instructions from our host. We stayed here after a long haul flight which arrived in the evening. Comfortable bed and good bathroom. Next morning we went to the Airport to collect our hire car. We checked out of our room, but left our luggage in the living room/kitchen at the property, security at the property was very good. We collected once we had our hire car. Plumbing and general noises from other guests could be heard, but this wasn't unreasonable, the rooms are quite close together. Met some other guests on occasion in the shared kitchen downstairs - all were respectful of the property and requests from the host.

Location was suitable for our activity the next day . Unit had kitchen services , location is 5 blocks from a supermarket and a smaller veggie market. Hot beverage equipment available . Other restaurant services are also available . Location just a few blocks from 2 city bus routes (Granville St and Oak St . and connections to Canada Line subway . Parking is street parking .
The unit to use has a side entrance with its own street number . pay close attention when you find the main house, and look for the supplementary number on a side gate . Parking is street parking. Could be limited

Kitchen and living room were not as nice as the bedroom. No coffee pot or kurig, had a coffee machine but no instructions on how to use it. Couches were uncomfortable. Bedroom doors were squeaky, and the streets around it were horrible to drive and parking was a mess street parking only.

The location for my stay was great. It was only 5 min away from family. It was very clean and the bed was comfortable.
Nothing major. The towel hanger in the ensuite and the California blinds could use some maintenance. The bed pillows could be replaced.

This is part of a house in a quiet residential area, very close to the airport. Upstairs, there is one king room ensuite, and 2 queen rooms which share a bathroom. We had both queens, so weren't sharing the bath with strangers. That was nice. The beds were comfy and there was good hot water/pressure in the shower. The downstairs is a spacious open area with kitchen, dining, tv area. Very homey. The kitchen was well fitted out.
Instructions regarding check in could have been better. We were met by the host within minutes of arrival but didn't recei
ve communication of this beforehand. It was'nt clear which entry we should approach. It was fine, just a few moments of uncertainty. Overall very good experience and good value for the money.
