Location very convenient, no need to use car locally. Great selection of places in Wernigerode to eat & drink, also to shop. Cultural and historical interests.

Central location meant nights were quite noisy, drunkenness, traffic, early morning deliveries etc. not able to sleep particularly well.

One of the best buffet breakfasts I have experienced in Germany

Bottled water in room is expensive

We had not notified the hotel that we would prefer a room on the lower floor, and had been allocated an excellent room (brilliant view of the Schloss) on the second floor. The hotel transferred us to a room on the ground floor (no view, but no stairs either).

The hotel is on a corner of a busy road, and inevitably there is some traffic noise.

Well situated in the Altstadt, nowhere more than a short walk away. A tiny room, but friendly and helpful staff, and an excellent breakfast, so no complaints at all, though car parking was a bit of a squeeze.

Traffic noise, the place is on a one-way system, and it becomes pretty bad in the morning when people go to work. Little sleep the first morning, but I bought earplugs in the town, and it was tolerable after that.

Our bed was big and comfy

No tea/coffee, kettle for hot water in the room. Had to pay €2,50 for a bottle of mineral water at a price of €104 per night.

The room was spacious, with a lovely view over the town. The breakfast buffet had a great variety of food options. The check-out time was only at 11:00, which offered us the choice to sleep in if we wanted to. The complimentary HATIX transport ticket was very useful - offering us the opportunity to use all local public transport services in the region for free.

There weren't any towels in our room when we arrived, which I believe was an accidental oversight. Since we arrived a bit late in the evening, we decided to first look for towels in the hotel's complimentary sauna, instead of unnecessarily bothering our hosts. We were able to find some towels there, and thus had no further problems regarding this.
