The staff was very warm and welcoming especially Melina and Lu ( I hope I got the names right). The location is excellent! Calm yet close to the major city attractions in addition to Kings garden which is just next door.
They offer free wine from 5-7 for their guests which I thought very generous and welcoming. All day coffee and tea was also a nice touch! You can also rent bikes from the hotel and they are in excellent shape.

No conveniences like a kettle in the room (although there were free coffee, tea and wine at reception) and no toiletry welcome pack - just one tiny (2cm x 2cm) bit of soap. Towels were thin and no floor mat for the bathroom was provided. Fans were old, noisy and loud. Very disappointing.

A big NO GO to this hotel.
I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone because of the lack of seriousness of the management and staff. I booked it on 5th October for 9-11 November and got confirmation of availability immediately. Moreover, they immediately took the payment from my account. However, upon my arrival I was informed that they had overbooked and wanted to send me to another hotel. At my refusal, as I was there with a work delegation, they let me wait for two hours until they found a solution. During these two hours, they were accomodating other newly arrived customers. Upon my complaint, they finally decided to give me a room, however when I asked if it was the room I paid for, they informed me that they had downgraded me. Surprisingly, the room I paid for was still on sale, available for booking on November 09. I have repeatedly asked for compensation, which to date I have not received. Furthermore, upon departure I asked for the hotel's invoice and was told that if they print the invoice it would be for a smaller amount than the one I paid. And he informed me that I will receive the invoice by email. To date, this has not happened. Perhaps there are some authorities to check on the activity of this business.

Everything. The location is perfect. The hotel is really cosy, especially the downstairs area. They provide free coffee and tea at all times. Even had a wine night each night where we could have a free glass of wine between 5-7pm.
The staff were really helpful and friendly. Use of umbrellas was a nice touch (we really needed them when we were there!!) Also a big luggage room to store bags on arrival / departure days.
Room was spotless and the bed was extremely comfy. Iron, safe, extra pillows & towels. Everything you need for a lovely stay. Couldn’t fault it.

The location for the cost was amazing.
Although: Must add that there were quirks, like TV not working, which was not a problem + the hotel is about to undergo renovation. So everything was a bit worn - but again, for the price we paid, and the fun that we had, it was excellent and staff very helpful.
Breakfast was pants - at best lukewarm, when one would expect hot.
However, we could have made other choices locally, but choose to have it on the second morning too.
Breakfast was charged extra.
I decided not to challenge it as we were very happy with the room and location + when we wanted to eat our own brought in evening meal. Staff went out of their way to get us plates and cutlery.

So firstly, the staff at reception spoke perfect English and made us feel very welcome. Our room was very spacious and i found the mattresses incredibly comfy. I had better nights sleep here than i often do at home! The bathroom was large too and the hot water was instant and in good supply. They let us use the luggage room for the whole day after we'd checked out and our flight was 10pm so that saved us carrying our luggage around the city all day.
The only thing i found was that the room, although it was completely clean, it looked liked the cleaner had forgotten to hoover/vacuum the floor. It wasn't dirty, just some crumbs and small particles on the floor. But realistically, it didn't affect our stay so still a thumbs up.

The plumbing needs some maintenance. The toilet did not work well, so I had to use an excessive amount of water. The water also splashed out of the shower, to an area with no darinage.

We booked a superior room to ensure that it was a bit nicer for the category. In turn, we had problems with a flooded shower (to the extend that we could not use the shower) and the room entrance door that wouldn’t lock. We raised these issues with the staff and met little intent to solve the problems. We suggested that they give us another room, not interested, or rather we ended up in a massive argument with (what we presume) was the manager on duty, who was extremely rude suggesting we should just check out (and I guess find another place…). She could have solved this problem so easily giving us another room, turning a bad situation into a good, but we had to fight for it. And then we got a lesser room!!! Not great customer/crisis management. It could have been good but ended up really bad. At this point we should mention that the girls in reception were nice but had no power whatsoever.

Free 24hr tea and coffee in the lounge area was a lovely touch (sometimes with croissants if you were lucky!). And an honesty box to help yourself to beer, wine and spirits was nice. There was also a record player and games in the sitting room area of the lounge which we enjoyed one night. Bedroom and bathroom both a decent size and clean.
The general hotel prices in Copenhagen aren’t the cheapest, but for the fantastic, central location of Christian IV, I would say it was definitely worth it.
Our room was very close to the lift and stairs and although we didn’t get much foot traffic coming past the room, the whirring of the lift was audible. The hotel was coming to the end of refurbishments too so then stairwell area looked a work in progress. Should be good though once finished (due May 2024).

I liked the location the most. Also the reception room with the free coffee was really nice to do some work. The reception staff was also very friendly and helpfull.
I didn't really like the bathroom. In my opinion this needs to be updated. There were some mold spots as well.
Furthermore the stairs and other rooms were outdated but the hotel was currently working on this. So this will be nice again soon!

It was a noisy location due to the nightlife on the street. Definitely need earplugs to deal with the party crowd at 2 am and the garbage trucks at 5 am.
