I picked a more expensive room to be closer to the river for better view, but found that the hotel is split into two places linked together via a tunnel (beneath the road), one place is the main hotel where the resturant, reception and main gate are located, the other part (where we stayed) is closer to the river, this part is isolated with no gate access to the road except at certain hours or via the main building throught the tunnel. Which is inconvenient if you want to go to the road outside the hotel from the riverside part.
Also the air conditioning system is old and noisy (I tried 2 different rooms), it is effecient but noisy.

The staff is not experienced and sometimes they are rude, asking you wherever you move at the hotel if youre resident at the hotel or not. As if Im going to walk inside the hotel areas just for fun.
The facilities are outdated.
The terrace door doesnt conceal the noise thats coming from the street.
The overall experience is not five stars by any means. I have no idea why on earth its five stars.
Even though the hotel is relatively new, I can see there is no maintenance whatsoever and its very poorly managed.
Which is shameful given the great location and the huge space they have.
In addition to the 2 star furniture inside the hotel, and the nonfunctional sanitary solutions despite i can its not cheap.

After complaining that the room size did not correspond to the description in the offer, we were upgraded to a junior suite, effectively a one bedroom apartment. We were more than satisfied.
The Nile view was spectacular, especially at sunset.
A few maintenance issues were promptly resolved.
Internet came and went.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

Rooms and facilities are good. The kids pool is not too big and food fun. Getting around the hotel is easy. Staff are friendly. The Turkish and seafood restaurants are very good and the quality is excellent.
The lifeguard at the kids pool would get very upset about the kids getting water outside of the pool.... It's a kids pool. They're kids.
Hands down some of the worst mixed drinks I've ever had. I can understand messing up a Pina Colada but a messed up Rum and Coke? I think the local alcohol that is used has a very strong, bad taste. Stick to the beer.

The best place to stay in Aswan! We arrived on a Nile cruise and needed one night before flying back to Cairo. It was our 1-year wedding anniversary, so I wanted to surprise my wife. I walked to the hotel and arranged with them to have a champagne in the room. The staff were really nice, and while I only asked for champagne, they left it with snacks and a cake, as well as decorated the bed! And if that's not enough, I asked for an unobstructed Nile view and they gave us an upgrade to a Deluxe room, which had the perfect room! Breakfast was also great, and staff really want to help you with luggage. They're always available to assist you to bring luggage to the room and back.

Our flight arrival time was 8:30 a.m. and I had ask the hotel if they had a storage room were we could leave our luggage while our room became available. The hotel reply was quick and accommodating. To our surprise, once we arrived at the hotel, they had a room ready for us. We were so exhausted and happy to find a place to lay our head.

The staff is incredible! Every request is fulfilled with a smile and genuine warmth. Everyone was most helpful! Granted an early check-in as we had just completed a Nile River cruise and a Nile view upgrade. Breakfast was wonderful, with many choices from the buffet and an Omelette/egg station. Lunch was very good as well,
with grilled dishes actually grilled on an outdoor charcoal grill. A truly grand hotel from the past. Beautiful stonework throughout.
Tough times have taken their toll. While a beautiful hotel, upkeep is lacking. Missing grout in the bathroom and sealant around bathroom fixtures needs to be replaced or repaired. While a Nile view and balcony was great during the day, noise from the street below didn't subside until 2 AM. Aswan's night life starts long after the sun goes down. And much of the action is directly across the street.

We booked on line and I made a mistake in the question "how many guests" I answered one as I was making the booking and had a guest - my wife. This gave me the wrong rate and I had to pay extra on arrival. Moreover, our tarriff included breakfast beginning at 06.30 hrs but as we had to depart at 4.30 for the flight, we were offered a carry box. I said not required as we would have something to eat at the airport. Told there would be nothing open at the airport at that time, we did accept the breakfast boxes. We could have been offered some relief from the booking confusion and overcharge but none was offered. At the airport the facilities were all open and fully functional. We could easily have had breakfast there in comfort.

Staff were very helpful. The General Manager Mohamed Ragab, was very attentive and hands on, ensuring all guests had a pleasant experience and enjoyed their time at the property. Our suite was large and comfortable, with two bedrooms and bathrooms and a living room. The pool area was very enjoyable, with a waiter service and looked out onto the many feluccas and boats sailing past on the Nile. The Main restaurant was half indoors and half on the terrace, providing wonderful views overlooking the Nile. The entertainment facilities were an added bonus and we enjoyed many games of bowling with our children. The guests Experience Manager Monica, catered to our every need and ensured that we had a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The hotel have their own private motor boat, which is a positive addition and Monica organised a private tour to tourist sites on the Nile, tailored to our interests. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel if you are staying in Aswan.
Furnishings were a little outdated, but other than this, I could not fault this hotel.

Great location and in its day. The pool is really nice.
The girl on the front desk rolled her eyes at me when I returned to say my room key wasnt working. I have stayed in hotels around the world and used to work in hotels. I know how to use an electronic key. This one didnt work and flashed red. This happened on arrival, I had taken my luggage to the room then had to return - luggage in tow to get the key fixed.
The shower in the room didnt work very well. The water trickled out. I didnt call reception after the rude encounter on arrival.
I ordered food by the pool. It took a long time to arrive. It was a toasted cheese sandwich. The meal was cold when it arrived. I dont know if the kitchen was far away or they didnt have enough staff to deliver food. I didnt bother to complain as I needed to leave, there was a language barrier and I was hungry so ate it cold.
