The Staff were AMAZING. If youโre wanting to stay in Downtown Cairo, then the location is perfect.
We went on a lot of the tours that were organised by the hostel and these were great days out. We also got a ride to and from the airport, also organised by the hostel which was needed!
The staff really couldnt help us enough, they were a great group of people.
If you are accustomed to European or American Hostels, then you may find this quite different but it is very good by Cairo standards. The building the hostel is in needs a lot of love, but the hostel itself is fine. The makeshift lift is interesting.
If youโre looking for accommodation similar to home, then go upmarket to the hotels near the airport, but if youโre looking for a cheap stay with friendly faces in authentic Cairo, then this is the place for you.

The hotel/hostel was centrally located. That means it is good and bad. It is quite close to Tahir square and other food/ATM, however you could hear traffic at night. Staff was helpful and you get to meet other travellers too.
Even though I had a pleasant enough stay I had a few issues. Most notably the internet seems to stop working possibly because they have hit the download limit. The last day of my stay I did not have internet at all and that was an issue since my flight check-in had to be done downstairs at the reception. The first day also I had issues with internet, but a simple reset of the router had fixed that.
The lobby to the hotel is shabby looking - caused me some initial nervousness. However, the room was clean and well maintained.
The taxi service is convenient from the hotel. However quite pricey - nearly double of uber. To the airport Uber costs an average of $8 and the taxi from hotel costs $16. One thing is that the Uber sometimes is a hit or miss, especially to the airport. From the airport I would recommend Uber.

Our room had a toilet with a shower mashed together, so both can't be used at the same time and the toilet was wet after showering. One towel per person was only available upon asking.

There is kitchen but it looks like nobody use it for years. Dirty and no cooking devices at all. They gave us towels but it was torn and stained. Narrow room we couldn't even open our suitcase.

It was a large room, relatively clean and the beds were amazing. The location is perfect.
The elevator and the staircase are old and not held clean properly but it's in a building with other company's or something so I understand that the hotel doesn't feel obligated to keep everything clean. The towels and bedlinnen need replacement but weren't bad. We did have a problem with the shower that the staff didn't adress during check in and weren't able to fix during our stay which was kind off bad. But for the budget I would probably come back.

What a lovely place! There is a real communal feel and the staff are all very friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. Khaled in particular was so helpful with a problem we had.
The ambience is warm, welcoming and relaxed.
We stayed in a De Luxe room with balcony which was clean, bright and spacious. The air conditioning worked well. The shower was good and the beds comfortable. Having a fridge and kettle was really appreciated.
There is an area next to reception where a simple set breakfast is served but is also a great place to meet other guests.
We were able to walk from the station to the hostel and also enjoyed a stroll to The Egyptian Museum. The staff arranged a tour to the pyramids which we really enjoyed and the tour guide was very good.

It was the 2nd time that we stayed at this hostel. All the previous advantages are still present: central location, close to tourist attractions, plenty of cafes/ fast food chains nearby, friendly and helpful stuff (in fact they upgraded the booked room to a bigger one, which was great)
It can be a bit loud in the evening due to traffic below as well as early in the morning when the 5 am pray starts, but itยดs common in Egypt.

First night we leawed less comfortable without any notification before (staff jast gave sale fo the first night).
Very strange noise in the bathroom, looks like rapped (but we didn't see smth like this exactly in the room).

Excellent location in downtown Cairo. Close to several eateries and shops and also to Egyptian museum. I got a clean, spacious room (3 beds!) with a cute balcony in a budget! Definitely will stay here again. Really gives you an overview of Cairo.

Great value for money in the city center of Cairo. We had last-minute changes with the arrival date and the hotel staff was so kind to help us out. Great breakfast and not that loud for in the middle of the city. The room itself was quite comfortable and had a small balcony. Would definitely stay again.
The entrance may look somewhat sketchy and the bathrooms can be improved thoroughly.
