Not what I had imagined. Pictures make it look wayyy nicer. Furntiure is old, canโt sit on balcony as its too noisy on the street. There is no sound proofing as described as well as no other little details like slippers and bedside lamp etc Really hard to find, its up a staircase hidden behind a scarf stall and the entrance from the ground is awful. The elevator shaft is used as a dumping ground.

This review is really for midtown hotel. When we checked in for regency inn. They said they were full and have to transfer us to their sister hotel. The location is very central. Good large size room with balcony. Their served pur breakfast there. All the workers and Manager was very friend and helpful.

The female receptionist, Shrouk/Sunrise, was very friendly and efficient in checking us in and helpful throughout our stay. The male receptionists seemed like bored college kids who lounged on the sofa and asked somewhat intrusive questions (Where are you going? When are you coming back?).
Breakfast quality was better than I had expected, usually consists of two beverages of your choice, fried eggs, bread with a variety of spreads, fresh fruit, and fresh veggies or a cooked dish.
The room was very clean and includes a/c, a mini-fridge, but no hair dryer. Bathroom is a bit small, but sufficient.
Being in a central location, there is quite a bit of street noise (especially honking) that can be heard. Also, my room was right off the lobby, and sometimes people in the lobby can be quite loud until late into the evening.
The hotel is in a building that must have been quite elegant at one point, but has fallen into disrepair. Staircase is a bit dirty and there is no working elevator.

It is a really old building and to find the hotel in itself is quite difficult. There is no elevator, second floor. The rooms are not very well sound proofed and a lot of noise from the street was filtered.

The stay was very nice with a very welcoming, helpful staff. Had a great time with the staff and even went out with them as tour guides / acquaintances. They did not hesitate to help with anything or even to just spend time. The young manager suggested horseback riding in the desert, which I eagerly accepted. (check photos). Every one of the staff was lovely and I can say I made some friends for the 2 days I stayed. :)
I didn't see the entrance immediately since you have to take the stairs to the second floor to get to the hotel. But it's not a big complaint. :)

The room was very clean, and the staff was very friendly. The appliances were up to date and modern, and so was the bathroom. The internet signal was strong and reliable as well, which was a big plus for me. Also, there is always someone at the desk who is willing to help with whatever your needs may be. For the price, it cant be beat compared to the higher end hotels in town.
I was skeptical at first, because the downtown area of Cairo is old; but dont let the outside street appearance fool you. Once inside,you'll feel totally at home. Overall, for the price, I will definitely stay again.

Breakfast! Every day, we received an extensive selection brought on a huge tray to our door. The entire staff was ftheriendly and happy to help us. We liked it so much that we returned the next week. Location could not be better. Located in center of the downtown with some of the best (reasonable) restaurants within 3 blocks. I could not expect any more from the friendly staff.
BASMA, FADI,AMR,MARWAN,MONA & ABEER all made our stays truly special.
We loved every moment spent with the staff. I can't think of anything more that could have been improved. RATE IT A 10!

There is a balcony with a furniture set with only a chair. We took the little table inside and sat on the bed and ate our breakfast.

The breakfast is very late, they start at 8:30 as they say. They were never on time, at the best you can expect to get your breakfast just a little before nine o'clock in the morning. This means you are loosing time in Cairo and cannot start your day early. What is more, we asked once to pack us a breakfast, and they of course couldn't make it and ignored it.
Shower and bathroom is another big problem. Sometimes there was water, sometimes there was no. Imagine after a toilet you cannot flush it. Or after a long and tired day, there is no water to have a shower. Nightmare.
Wi-fi. The same as water. Sometimes it's there, sometimes it's just gone. I wouldn't expect much from it.

We didnโt get to actually stay at the property: they practice overbooking and sent us to another place, 15 min walk away. So canโt really answer this question.
Its elevator is broken beyond repair and itโs 2 big floors up. I had to climb that with crutches and once up they told us theyโd send us somewhere else. it took 1,5 hour to do the transfer and we were not satisfied with the location of the new place. We got no refund and no discount. Spoilt our first night in Egypt.

The customer service at this place is outstanding. The gentleman at the front desk went above and beyond for me. I arrived after midnight, and he was more than accommodating. I needed help booking a trip to Luxor, and he saved me hours by showing me how to do it. The next morning, I enjoyed a fantastic homemade breakfast. The staff members are incredibly helpful and eager to assist with anything you need. I highly recommend this place.

I had a great stay at Regency Inn. The location is excellent โ close to everything you need. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better.
The room was exceptionally clean, matching the standards of a 4-star hotel. The bed was spotless, new, and extremely comfortable โ one of the best Iโve slept on in old Town Cairo.
Overall, the price is extremely fair for what you get. Highly recommended!
The only thing to note is that there is no elevator, so it might be challenging for those who have difficulty using stairs to reach the second floor.
