Very good location at the center of Cairo. Breakfast was tasty which contained of falafel, bread, egg or omelett, some salad and tangerine. The staff was very friendly and helpful. He suggested us different museums and places in Cairo what to visit.
Late at night around 10 pm there starts a loud music outside and it is very loud, playing until 2-3 am maybe. Luckily we are not so light sleepers, so we could sleep but if you are I would not recommend this place to have a good sleep. They did not have a hair dryer in the room and the building itself looks very old, like abandoned but room itself was okay.

My stay at Rhala Hostel was short but very convenient. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a genuine smile from the owner. The location of the guesthouse is unbeatable, situated in an old building in the heart of Cairo. It was easy to walk to many of the city's main attractions.

I found Rhala hostel by coincidence, yet, one of the most comfortable places i've ever encountered, The location is brilliant, Ibrahim (The owner), is one of coolest, and funniest guys i've ever met, and he was so smart investing the most in matresses, very premium, which made me super comfortable in my sleep, also the avg age of the staff is very young and energetic, Also Shaimaa makes a very delicious breakfast, over all, I would definitely recommend staying at Rhala

The staff is absolutely amazing! They give you genuine tips and help you out with recommendations, tours, and general tips. It's the true authentic hostel vibe. Breakfast was really good quality and value for money and the private rooms were spacious, clean and light.

The hostel is situated in a nice area close to Egyptian museum and the staff are nice and helpful!
Breakfast is basic but nice.
Reception is available 24/7 which is nice.
Water ran out several times a day and sometimes there was no water for 1-2 hours. Also, the bathroom inside the room doesnโt have celling so you can be missing some privacy there.
We were also asked to transfer to a smaller room, although we booked and payed for room for 4 people.

The location is very convenient and the area felt safe. The guys at the reception and the lady were very welcoming, kind and helpful. The room was big and generally clean, apart from the floor. Breakfast was included.
The building is very old and incredibly dirty. The hotel is on the 4th floor, there is a lift that is half broken, so we only took it to take the suitcases up. Then we used the stairs that are disgusting to say the least. We had a window in our room and the glass was simply missing. The floor was dirty.

I love Rhala hostel for a lot of reasons :
First, every facility and services were available as listed on booking.com.
The staff were very nice and welcoming. The cleaning staff shows up everyday to ensure everywhere is neat and tidy.
The kitchen is well furnished in case you wish to prepare your own meal. The internet wifi was strong and fast and available 24/7.
Breakfast was always served consistently and timely.
The air-conditioner kept the rooms chill always and shielded against the scorching summer temperatures of Cairo.

Super central, and my single room with shared bathroom was a decent size. Two beds which was nice although not used.
There was a sizeable social area although not many tourists were visiting the property at the time (about one other party at any given time) and i am given to understand this was because summers the tourist off-season.
The guides were very helpful and friendly and helped me discover what I could do around Cairo even offering to help book tours.
The room wasnโt as clean as it could have been. I could see stray hair and itโs obvious that harder-to-reach locations werenโt cleared of dust. I immediately noticed because I can get very sensitive to dust as part of my hay fever.
I also felt disappointed that the bathroom was shared between the hostel owners and myself, not other tourists. The breakfast wasnโt 100% my cup of figurative tea but that may be down to personal preference.

Everything was very good. Enes and Mahmoud are very good people. They are very helpful. They help you if you have any problems and they speak good English. Everyone is very friendly. There is no problem with the internet, it works fine. In terms of location, you can easily reach the metro and a few other places. The cleanliness, the breakfast, the comfort and the people working there made me feel like I was at home. If I come to Cairo again, I will definitely choose this place. I've been to Cairo four times, I've stayed in a dozen places downtown and this was the best one I've ever stayed in.
The hostel is well located - close to the subway and all the facilities around - and the staff is super helpful, polite and available. I stayed at Rhala for 10 days in a room with a private bathroom, extremely clean, with all the furniture - TV, air conditioning, beds - new. I highly recommend it and would stay there again.

First time ever I didnโt stay in a place iv booked and iv stayed in some holes in my time death trap elevator the last straw was when I saw the fire escape blocked off with debris and old mattresses I pray to god there is not a fire here because it would be catastrophic

The stuff was really really nice, the location was great and we had a great private room for two people and we felt very safe! Everyone was so friendly and helpful:) thank you!
The bathroom was not comfortable, you have to get used to the shower as the bathroom will be fluted after showering.

The staff is kind and helpful. The rooms are basic and clean.
Even if the position within the city is good, the hostel is very close to a club/bar, so there is loud music at night. Therefore, earplugs are recommended.

The hostel is nicely decorated, the private room is spacious, wifi is great and breakfast is delicious, the staff is helpful, friendly, and available 24/7, the location is very central in downtown cairo. Dorms have curtains around bunk beds for added privacy
My room was quite loud until 3-4am - I was there Friday and Saturday night. The private bathroom has a wet shower. The rate shown on booking.com does not include 15% taxes.

The hostel is ideally located near shops, restaurants and the rest of Cairo is just a short drive away. The staff of the hostel is very friendly and the place is by itself very welcoming. Breakfast is an assortiment of different delicious dishes and is prepared quickly upon request!

we chose the hostel based on other reviews, if someone travels to similar places they know what to expect. Egyptian style hostel, the staff was very nice and helpful, breakfasts were served in the room, the rooms were spacious and comfortable - clean, the staff changed the sheets and did not care about our comfort. great location - I think the best in the whole city because you could walk everywhere close by and at the same time at the exit to Giza so you also avoided the whole city which is stuck in a traffic jam.
nothing - everything was great, the hostel is located in such a way that the noise from the city is minimal and does not bother, you could really relax in the room.

I ended up going back to Rahala Hostel not once, but three times! It just felt like homeโa place where I could truly be myself and feel so comforted. The friends I made there? Oh my god, theyโre amazing, and I couldnโt imagine leaving Egypt without seeing them again. Each time I went back, the vibe was just as incredible as the first. Iโm definitely going to miss them, but one thingโs for sureโnext time Iโm in Egypt, Rahala will be my go-to again!

Location also very good.
In the shared dormitory the beds are in wooden "boxs" and 4 of them connected to each other. Once a person turns at night, the others would all feel it.

My stay at the Rhala hostel was absolutely magical, a true home away from home. I felt incredibly welcomed and surrounded by the community, which allowed me to create wonderful connections with local Egyptians and feel like part of something special. We were very impressed with the rooms in this budget friendly accommodation. It was clean, extremely spacious, and beds were comfy. 24/7 staff. I would stay here in a heartbeat if we came back to Cairo. There was even enough space for us to work in the room which was really great. WiFi was faster than most that weโve had in egypt.

Rhala was very central to downtown but a little off the main area so was fairly quiet. Like an oasis and being met by very helpful and kind Abdul we had a lovely stay here. The breakfast was very good (omelette falafel strawberries bread etc). The facilities were excellent and the atmosphere welcoming.
Trying to book a taxi to Sphinx airport getting close to Ramadan breakfast was challenging but Abdul helped us enormously even kindly taking us (and bags) to meet the taxi.
The stairs. Donโt use them. Always use the lift.
