We are a family of five from Canada, traveling in Egypt for the second time over three weeks. We booked all our hotels through Booking.com, always requesting connecting or adjacent rooms — and every hotel delivered, until Safir.
We booked Safir more than two months in advance, knowing it was high season. We chose it for comfort, safety, and convenience, and selected the half-board option for quality meals before and after excursions. We followed up multiple times — including the day before arrival — to reconfirm our room request.
Upon arrival, staff were friendly, but told us check-in was at 3 PM, even though Booking.com clearly lists 2 PM.
We were reassured we had “very good rooms” close together. When we asked again for side-by-side rooms, we were warned we’d lose those “good rooms.” We trusted them — only to find our rooms in completely separate buildings, with no line of sight and a full building between them. The rooms were standard, with no sea view — nothing special.
Wi-Fi was unstable and room-to-room phones didn’t work, making communication difficult — a serious issue with children.
The hotel called once after check-in, but it felt like a formality. We explained that our schedule was already planned and excursions booked, and that they could reach us anytime by WhatsApp. However, when they later claimed they had “tried to contact us all day” to offer a room change, we had received no email, no WhatsApp, no Booking.com message, and no written note in our room or voice message through the room phone. It felt more like a delay tactic than genuine follow-up.
They called again the day before our departure to offer a room change. By then, it was far too late — we would’ve had to pack, move, and repack for a one-night fix.
We asked for compensation for the poor planning and were given a fruit basket (which all hotels had provided as a welcome gift) and 30% off soft drinks and shisha — not much, considering the inconvenience.

The property is well-maintained, clean, and ideally suited for leisure travelers. The white-colored exterior cabins and architecture gave off a beautiful Greek island vibe, creating a bright and relaxing ambiance.
There is one area that could use some improvement, it would be the food offerings. While the basics were available, the menu lacked variety and the taste didn’t quite match the overall quality of the rest of the hotel.

We’d also like to give a big thank you to Waleed from the pool/sea staff, and all the amazing guards who helped us feel safe and cared for during our stay. Last but certainly not least, a big shoutout to the animation team, especially Yousef, who made our stay even more fun and lively.
All in all, Safir Resort truly exceeded every expectation. We are already looking forward to our next visit!
Very minor but the water flow in the shower was a bit low
We did encounter a slight issue with check-in that was related to our Booking reservation and not related to the property itself, and I highly recommend avoiding booking through third-party partner offers, as they seem to create unnecessary complications. The staff at the reception were really understanding and patient and explained the options we had even when we were confused at first, and helped us call Booking that still didn't help me get a refund from the partner offer.

It’s newly renovated although it looks newer in the photos.
The staff is very unprofessional and rude. The security guards spoke to us in a very rude way and the housekeeping was eyeing my friend in a very inappropriate way. The beach is very small and the quality of the service and facilities is way less than their competitors.

The overall experience is amazing. The staff are super friendly and mae you feel at home. The greenery area and landscape is breathtaking especially after sunset time and by the pool. The food is beyond delicious with their Chef Mamdouh adding an extra later of "home made" touch to their recipes. It's one of the sought after destination at Dahab. I'd definetely mark it as the "haven to go to" the next time I visit Dahab.

This hotel truly exceeded my expectations. Everything was simply perfect .I honestly couldn’t find a single fault. The food was outstanding, the rooms were peaceful and very comfortable, and the staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming, especially in the dining area and around the pool.
The facilities were spotless and beautifully maintained. I also really appreciated having a dedicated entertainment team , it adds such a special touch and really makes this hotel stand out from the rest.
