They charge 5 euros for keeping the luggage after check out. There was a lot of noise during the night. Sound from toilets from other rooms were really bothering, and I could even hear a word by word people talking in other rooms. Strongly not recommended. No hair dryer in the room.

Although we recognise you get what you pay for....the hotel is very very basic. but clean. Rooms are outdated, some areas of decor nees maintenance.
Decor 'unusual' heart and flower lighting... Something for a childs bedroom maybe.
As we only needed a bed to sleep as out walking and seeing sights most of the day(s) it was ok and close to most attractions.
Wven Bernabeau Stadium is walking distance (if you're happy to walk that distance... Circa 50 minutes)
TV is miniscule ( thankfully we didnt use it) as had tablets, wifi a positive. Although don't rely too heavily on internet access as it keeps dropping out.
The ceiling fan waa noisy when operated and worked as of was going to fly off the ceiling... Very outdated mechanics.
There are multiple hazards really if you are unsteady or not very good on your feet.
There are 5 flights of stairs (not mentioned in the hotel description) also very uneven steps due ro age and wear.
The shower was dangerous , both of us slipped.... Fortunately we did not fall.
Wc and shower area tiny.... Just as well basin outside in room.
The receptionists were. pleasant and helpful.
There were vending machines for water and coffee only. No snack machine available..although very short distance to shops cafes, bars and restaurants.
Lots of mini supermarkets too.
Although views state (internal view) we didn't expect to see lines of washing completly obscuring any possible view!
On the plus side there are many many restaurants, bars, cafe etc.
Buildings and surrounding architecture is absolutely beautiful, stunning at times
Wandering the streets, Calle Mayor, multiple plazas is very pleasant... Fabulous opportunity to people watch too.
Would we recommend..... No. ( Only because its soooo basic.)

4th floor, no elevator. And the stairs are incredibly slippery so if it hasnโt happened yet, someone will slip and fall down those stairs. Itโs a horrible accident waiting to happen.
In the shower, the water pressure and temperature are not consistent. Itโs constantly changing to cold and warm while youโre showering.
I was in room 313. I urge them to fix that shower door on the side, if someone slips or forgets that itโs basically a curtain, they will go through that โdoor โand get injured. This is a safety hazard. Accidents waiting to happen.
The bed is very uncomfortable, the mattress is so soft that you literally get soaked into it. Mosquito bites as well, the blanket was more like a sheet, itโs so thin.
Thereโs a vending machine but it only takes cash.
The walls are very thin so you hear everything happening outside of your tiny room.
I will definitely not come back.

Thought I was going to die on the stairs. Itโs four floors up and the stairs are so unbelievably old they are worn smooth/have worn away spots from decades of feet tread. Was very scared taking my suitcase up and especially down. It was such a climb to get up there that it impacted my decisions to come and go.
Found I couldnโt open the windows up for fresh air unless I wanted my room to smell of grilled meat & smoke from restaurant below.

Very good location. Hostel that does the job. We had a private room with a friend, so not sure about the dormitories. The room was clean but a bit "tired": the beds and shower were not very comfy. Towels and products provided. Staff was nice and kept our luggage the next day for 5โฌ. To be noted if you have a lot of luggage or trouble walking stairs: there are six flights of old stairs to go up and no elevator.

Duvets would be nice as we were cold at night and the blankets provided were not comfy
Door to the toilet should be changed, it has no reason to be this narrow

You have to climb up to the third floor which for older people or with heavy lagguages is not easy! The location is in a party area so sometimes there are lot of nลies. However Windows were good enough to filter most of the noises.

I've stayed at several budget hotels in Madrid before, and here I had by far the biggest room, a double room for single occupancy. But even for a double room it's spacious. Great location, good wi-fi, a comfortable bed - I didn't need more.
They use a double name Huespedes / Dolcevita, which is misleading. Booking.com books you at Huespedes, and the name at the doorbell is Dolcevita. There is something like a dorm and another hotel in the same hotel building, and I ended up walking from door to door.

The location first of all. It's located in a relatively quiet area of an otherwise very busy city. It's within easy access to public transport: the Cibeles-to-Barajas Airport is some 10 minutes walk and the metro station (Estaciรณn Gran Via) is some 6 minutes away on foot. The hostel is 3 floors above ground floor and accessed by 6 flights of stairs. The room is adequate for my needs. There is a private bathroom. The bed and pillow were comfortable enough to sleep on. There is a rack with some hangers to hang your clothes--always a plus in my book. The staff were very friendly as well as being professional. I enjoyed my 3-day stay there. I did not hear any outside street noise, a definite plus.
The walls I thought were a bit thin as on my third night I could hear a neighbor speaking even in a subdued voice. This did keep me awake. The stairs are a minor nuisance.

Close to many points of interest. Clean and everyday cleaning. Kind and friendly receptionists.
The wooden staircase is so used, practically dangerous. Pay attention to the used stairs. Tin walls and window giving at 2 meters to the other building windows through an internal court where the laundry is hanged. An awful restaurant smell is entering the room when window is open, so practically no fresh air. The sin is in the room and the WC and shower are framed by internal plastic construction, The humidity cannot easily be eliminated as when opening the window the bed restaurant smell enters. This results is humid sheets and personal belongings. The towel hooks are inside the bath/WC cage, so always humid. 5 euros in cash has to be pay for luggage after check out. The mattress is extremely used, so I had severe pains in lower back.

The double room was cozy, spacious but most of all super clean. It's very central and strategic to reach almost every central place in Madrid, if you don't mind walking a bit
Wasn't a problem for me, but It's fair notifying this for the light sleepers out there: Every room is at the second or third floor if I remember correctly, and at the street level there is a nightclub that although I heard absolutely no music, there might be some groups of people talking out loud until late at night. especially on the weekend. the hostal is located on the highest foors of an older bldg, without an elevator... so not great if you have heavy bags to carry, but fine if you have only lighter or minimal luggage to carry. The check out time is 11 AM (not noon as for most accomodation) and they will only store bags for guests for 5 euro extra fee. I stayed in winter but there doesnt appear to be any AC in this hostal so I would avoid it in summer, although there is a ceiling fan in the room I stayed in (401).

I adored the location very vibrant near to gran via, metro station and so many beautiful touristic places to not forget the shopping street where you can the big brands ,restaurants...,also the ladies in the reception were very friendly.
The room was extra clean a little small but enough for a single person.
The building is a bit old , the hotel is in the third floor ,and there is no elevator, this is a bit frustrating especially if you have heavy luggage.
I booked a room with terrace and a view but keep in mind that the room may have an internal view depend on the availability in that day.

The very central location was excellent. The room although very small was comfortable and warm with a very good shower in particular. Staff was very nice and friendly. Having a one Euro coffee machine there was very nice.
It's probably my own fault for not checking first but the worst was that it was four very high floors up with no elevator. It's just one small part of a huge building with many other occupants and you have to buzz them on arrival for them to let you enter. There was not a single tv channel in English.

The only "problem" is the stairs leading up to the rooms. Personally they weren't a problem for me, but they could be for someone with mobility issues.

The staff was friendly and kind. The location is amazing, very close to what you need for a short stay.
The room. It smelled bad and it had humidity. To the point that we had to sleep on our bed's foot because we have drops falling in our faces.

The location is good, and the room was clean.
Terrible bed, sunken in the middle. Very noisy and lacking in privacy: you can clearly hear other guests' conversations and other noises as well. The personnel are careless when moving around with loud music while cleaning the neighboring rooms in the morning. Additionally, the property lacks an elevator, and it is located on the 4th level. With the stairs being old, crooked, and slippery, you risk slipping when carrying your luggage up them.

Dolce Vita supplies almost everything they specify in their listing but the photos didn't convey an accurate impression of our double room (#302). Rather than "bright and comfortable" and "colorful", we were initially shocked at how drab and cramped our attic room was. The bathroom has a sloping ceiling which requires care by tall people. There are two small windows, high above our heads, opened and closed electrically to an oblique view of the sky. All 3 electrical outlets were occupied by room lamps, so you need a plug strip to connect your devices without reducing lighting. Management may supply strips on request, we didn't ask. The listing should make it clear that access is via 6 or 7 flights of stairs from the street, which would be too much for some guests. My wife arrived at the front desk totally breathless. The manager, perhaps fearing the need for a 112 (911) call, assisted her with the luggage on the final ascent to the room. On the plus side, the staff is friendly and helpful (although we encountered no English speakers), they have a guest refrigerator and microwave, and they supplied kitchenware on request. Their actual kitchen is off limits to guests. We were unaware of the roof terrace and thus didn't see it. Arriving by car is difficult. You can get out of the traffic lane, barely, but we were scolded by other drivers during our brief unloading. Unlike many cities, there seems to be absolutely no cost-free parking within kilometers, so I settled for the nearby discounted garage. The Dolce Vita staff told me the discount is 50%, but at 18.15โฌ/24 hours, it's actually only 27%. Be sure you know the vehicle environmental restrictions in Madrid. Personally, I felt Dolce Vita was too expensive (72โฌ/night for 2, Thu/Fri, late February, without parking), but it is in the active Madrid centro and perhaps we got the worst room in the place, which my wife commented would be perfect for a secret tryst [grin].
The failure to mention access via 7 flights of stairs is clearly deceptive. Their Accessibility statement, "Upper floors accessible by stairs only" is very close to a lie since the hotel is ONLY on the 3rd and 4th floors.

Lots of stairs that are old. Power went out at night so no ac or fan, the room gets very hot.
