Greco is a very well maintained family run hostal (in the Spanish meaning). It is in a great location, easy to get to from the airport - even with big suitcases (assuming they have wheels) and surrounded by plenty of facilities. The hostal is safe, secure and manned 24/7. There is nothing not to like.

Due to its location, the whole area can be really noisy. I got an interior room that spared me the street noise, so I don't know how it is in other rooms.

It is very close to Gran Vía, so there are many food and entertainment places available.
The bathroom was clean, towels and some free toiletteries were provided (soap, shower gel).
There is a very old mini fridge which you need to plug in, an AC but with no remote.
Made a last minute reservation as I had to stay in Madrid for an aditional night, the receptionist was very surprised by my arrival, but that is okay. However don’t expect English here, I jnderstand and speak a but Spanish, so it was not an issue for me, but if you do not speak Spanish I don’t recommend it much unless you are okay with google translate.
The walls are VERY thin and I could here the people in the room next to me and above me.
The pictures on Booking are edited for the place to look better than in real life (at least that was the case of my room). Like pictures of only the nicest room in the front, other room’s pictures have a higher exposure to seem light and clean.
Everything in the room was simply old, which can be okay, bud the beddings were old fashioned and didn’t have like sheet covers. So I was not convinced by the cleanness of the beddings and did not used them at all, which made sleeping very uncomfortable. It was too late and I was to tired to go and find another place, so I stayed awake the few hours I was there before heading to the airport.

The facility is old; the bathroom display was uncomfortable and extremely narrow, towels overused and smelly. The person at the front desk (juan) during my first night there was not very helpful at first when I asked for the control to turn the AC in the room.
He even lied to me, saying he didn't have access to it, until I showed him the booking description where clearly said the AC would be on until October 15th, then the control magically appeared ?... after that, I just suck it up until I checked out (great thing I just booked 2 nights).

Everything was great, the place was very clean and the staff were very helpful.
I'm not used to hostel systems, so when I arrived, I didn't find a proper reception area; the doors were closed. The reception was on the second floor, so I felt a little scared. Then a passerby helped us, and everything was fine. I really appreciate the helpful Spanish people. I'm so happy I visited Spain.
