the cleaners/cleaning staffs are bad.
1. they repeated coughing in corridor by intention because of covid virus discrimination. they slamed door heavily after coughing.
2. when I went to shared bathroom and left my room , they came into my room and smoked.
3. after I checked out , one cleaner required me to show her my passport.

I loved Los Alpes! The location is perfect, right at Fuencarral and literally 1 minute walking from metro station Gran Vía, which is directly connected to Sol if you need to take the trains for Atocha, for example. The are is great, with all facilities you might need, and at walking distance basically for anywhere in Madrid.
The staff and great and very lovely, the room and bathroom were always clean, and I positively surprised by the room. It's not huge, but has a great size for one person. Microwave and refrigerator were fantastic, along with the TV, the shower and sink, which gives you more privacy. The bed was comfortable also.
I would definitely recommend Los Alpes and also stay there more times!
Just a note for people with mobility issues and huge suitcases: there is an elevator in the building, but you will still need to take small stairs to reach the hostal itself.

For the price and location, the room was more than enough! You even have a shower and a sink the room. It's near all the main objekts, so you can walk easily around.
There was no kitchen nor any kind of dishes, just one tea cup. So better to eat outside or pack some forks or spoons with you. But there was an electric kettle and little fridge, and even a microwawe.

The location of the Hostel. It was very easy to reach places like bakeries, restaurants, bars, tourist places, etc. The room was very clean and I had everything I needed for my stay.
Communication with the staff. I had to check in online before because I was arriving when reception was closed, but the website for this check-in wasn't working. So far so good, these unexpected things can happen...
The problem was the reception's reaction when I informed them of the problem. They didn't want to solve it and kept telling me to follow the steps on a website that didn't work! I spent almost a day repeating the obvious to someone at reception, and all they said was that they couldn't do anything about it. So that was it: I was going to arrive in Madrid late at night, and I couldn't get into the hostel because the check-in website wasn't working.
Luckily, the next day, someone decided to check the website and they saw that it really wasn't working. They fixed it, told me to try again, and then I was able to do the check-in.
A problem that could have been solved in half an hour if the staff had stopped to listen about a problem with their system when I first told them...

The place was super clean. Fresh smell in the bed shit. Staff is super friendly. I love that we could connect Netflix on the Tv and that there was a mini fridge/ kettle and microwave in the room.
There was no option for a cot and even though there is a lift, still there are stairs to access the rooms which could be a problem for people with reduced mobility.

The Hostal is in a fantastic area of Madrid, just off Gran Via. It’s So easy to get to all the attractions. Very close to the gay area. The room was very clean and tidy. The lift was very much a good thing as the Hostal is on level 4. Staff were very helpful
Communication at times could be interesting as the grasp of English was not very good. But then I don’t expect people to come to my country and speak my language.

Uncomfortable room, due to the lack of sound proofing, I had the hear next door’s snoring throughout my stay, I woke up in the middle of the night and could not get back to the sleep because of this snoring was very annoying. Very little room and micro bathroom impossible to move around under the shower. Location is very central but there were prostitutes in front of the building late at night.

Heating system made noise during the night (even though I don't think it was operating). Night lighting in room was a little too bright. Fourth floor was a minor inconvenience.

It was slightly odd having a shower in the room but no toilet - but to be fair, this is what I signed up for. Shared toilet was just steps down the hall so it was no big deal. I have just never stayed anywhere with this configuration.
