Rooms were not renovated in ages, dirty, with tons of odd quirks (like step, when entering the room and another step down one meter away from the first one).

Excellent location, very polite stuff, decent breakfast, awesome heat in the room and in all the hotel. At the reception desk they were extremely helpful to keep my backpack and laptop apart from my suitcase, when I mentioned I was cautious to leave in in the luggage room. Very sweet and professional!
The bed was rather small. I accidentally leaned to the side while sleeping and fall down with the matress and sheets landing over me!

The breakfast consists of a wide variety of food and everything was very delicious. The bed was very comfortable - best sleep. :) There is a kettle in the room with tea and coffee, which is very useful on cold Finnish days. :) The location of the hotel is very good, 7 minutes walk from the Central Station (trains go to the airport every 10 minutes, travel time 27 minutes), the area is pleasant, safe, the main attractions are within walking distance. For a one-day city trip from Helsinki, I recommend: Turku (2 hours by train), Tampere (2 hours by train), Tallinn (2 hours by ferry). :)

It’s an affordable hotel very near to the central railway station. The rooms are clean. The staff is nice and the price is reasonable. The breakfast buffet is quite nice as well.
I only wish they could keep the breakfast area warmer in winter. There was a door that was kept open between the lobby and the dining area and a cold winter draft was making the area near the door cold. I do understand there are some things that aren’t easily controlled in winter but perhaps keeping the doors between areas closed would help reduce cold drafts.

Location is excellent to visit Helsinki city center museums and shopping. Easy to catch public transport, on walking distance from railway station. Breakfast was OK. Staff was polite and helpful.
There is a gym in 8th floor where they play some ball games. Noise comes to 7th floor guest rooms, but only during daytime and evening, so it doesn't bother sleeping.
Soap dispensers in bathroom and shower are difficult to use for people with limited finger strength (elderly or children): you have to squeeze it firmly to get soap out. Bring your own soap pump if you finger strength is limited.

I booked a single room. The room was always nice and warm and the bed very comfortable.
The bathroom wasn't the best. While it was clean, there was a constant odour which I brought to the attention of staff. I don't think they could do anything about it unfortunately as it lasted throughout the stay from the moment I arrived. The shower is hot, however, as the shower curtain doesn't go to the floor and there is no shower door, the water, no matter where you stand, flows all over the floor, soaking the mat. The bedroom floor is showing signs of water damage where this issue is clearly ongoing.
