The location was fantastic - right in the middle of the old town with everything within easy walking distance. The room was on the small side but just fine and had everything we needed. And although they did the normal hotel thing of giving you a thick duvet in the middle of summer so that you are encouraged to waste electricity on the AC all night, they did provide a couple of light blankets which were perfectly enough.
Our major problem was that the pillows were like bricks. We put our pillowcases on the scatter cushions out of desperation but it didn't work very well. The beds were also a bit on the firm side. Because of the pillow problem we hardly got any quality sleep which was really annoying.

MONSIEUR JOSE was particularly helpful and kind after a number of problems see below. He went out of his way the help us and was utterly charming. The location was perfect for exploring the old medieval town
There was an idiotic key ssytem that involved QR codes. The code was sent to me in advance but was 'broken' No new code was sent despite asking. When Mr Jose located a code it did not work to start with. Then I could npot log on to wifi in our room - again the wonderful Mr Jose came to the rescue and we tried two other rooms before finally solving the problem.

The man who greeted us at check-in was professional, welcoming,and friendly. They placed us in a spacious room that was quiet, facing the side street. The restroom was a good size. The bed was comfortable. The views looking out onto the street were very pleasant, with tree tops. We were able to control the temperature in our room which was great. The location was good - if you want to be in the heart of things. We were able to store our luggage on our departure day, free of charge, which was much appreciated. They also have a restroom in the luggage room which is considerate.
Unfortunately, there was a horrible buzzing sound during the night, from roughly the hours of nine pm to six or seven in the morning. It buzzed every fifteen seconds or so. We were basically not able to sleep. I searched for the cause - it was none of our devices, nor was it coming from upstairs or the hallway. We believe, due to the timing, that it was possibly related to a security system (since the staff leaves the property during those hours) or to the QR codes. No one else seems to have mentioned it so we imagine it may have just been for our stay, but consider yourself warned. We messaged the staff in the middle of the night but didn’t feel up to addressing it directly with them the next day since we were only there for one night and didn’t want to deal with conflict or stress (we were exhausted and hadn’t slept). When we checked out, they notably didn’t offer any compensation or apology in-person which wasn’t great customer service. The QR code for the room instead of keys or dial codes is very strange and inconvenient, but not necessarily a deal-breaker. We were not particularly fond of the location, although the location of our room was nice and peaceful. Rue de République is bustling and loud with pan-handlers, tourists, and drifters. It never felt dangerous but it was jarring for my partner to be asked for money by a strange man when she was out on her own.

This hotel is on the main street which becomes pedestrian only in the afternoon and evenings. You are in the middle of town which is completely inside the old stone walls, very historic. It was so quiet in the winter but I am sure that might not be the case in summer. We were given an upgrade to a beautiful huge room which we loved, thank you to the night man.
The parking garage was very hard to find since the main road becomes pedestrian only and the garage is outside the walled city. Directions to the garage could be given when booked, it would be helpful.

I have visited Avignon before and stayed in different hotels. I will return to this one from now on. The location is perfect, just a few blocks from the main parking lot outside the wall in one direction, and a few blocks from the Gare Centre in another. All of the cultural and historic sites are equally close. This is a gorgeous old hotel (the name is carved in the stone that caps the building) that has been nicely remodeled and updated. The room was the largest of the hotels we stayed in during a month in France. Our room overlooked the tree-lined Rue Viala. Hard to beat!
The bathroom could be wider. There wasn't much clearance around the toilet. However, it wasn't the tightest of the rooms I have stayed in.

I had a great room (101, I believe) with a nice view off of the side of the hotel. The air conditioning was excellent considering how hot Avignon was in July. I underestimated when booking the hotel how fantastic the location is, you are really right in the center of Avignon, so it's very safe and there are many food places nearby. I would stay here again.
I passed on the breakfast as it didn't look worth the price. I asked if I could just grab a coffee (from the machine), but no. Not a big deal, but I like when hotels are a bit more generous with tea and coffee.

Location is perfect!
It is on the Main Street so it is noisy and too much light go through the window. The French morning staff at the reception was rude and not polite. Quite the opposite the girl in the afternoon and next day in the morning, such a nice and polite girl.

Location is great. The room was also quite large and pleasant.
Breakfast did not offer too many opportunities.
When someone at a higher floor flushed the toilet, a bad smell popped up in my bathroom. Shutting down doors helped mitigating the problem.

The location right on one of the main streets in the historic city center was ideal. Although small, the room was tastefully decorated and comfortable. The concierge was also very helpful.

Extensive black mold and moldy smell in both rooms we rented. Our mother-in-law was able to move into a better room, but for us there were only two options that were just as smelly and moldy.

excellent location, 4 blocks from train station, lots of restaurant options. We didn’t try the breakfast ( $15!!) but several good coffee shops nearby. Very helpful staff. Make sure your phone is powered up when you arrive since that is the only way to get into your room. We found that odd…hope it isn’t t the way of the future.

Difficult to reach by car. No parking. No warning or suggestions in the booking about access. Time consuming and frustrating to figure out how to get to hotel.
