Booked knowing there would be no air conditioning and only a fan provided, however the ceiling fan was not strong and given our stay was in July it was uncomfortable to sleep with the heat some nights. Also ceiling fan only covered 1 part of the room.

The location was very central and convenient. The room was kept very clean by the cleaning team who did a great job.
Whilst the location was central and convenient it was also very noisy at night and into the early hours of the morning. The room got very hot despite the fan and could do with air conditioning. If you had the balcony door open it was very noisy. The toilet was very small and should really be a part of the bathroom.

This hotel offers good value for money, especially by Biarritz standards. It’s centrally located, making it a convenient base for exploring the town. As a 2-star hotel, it met expectations: the room was clean, and both members of staff we met were genuinely kind and helpful. The lady on reception spoke good English and was polite, while the cleaner was thorough and friendly.
We stayed in a family room, which had comfortable beds and gave our daughter her own space, an unexpected bonus but no door, and the bathroom led from her room. The ceiling fan provided some relief from the heat, and we appreciated the thoughtful touch of mosquito spray. The hotel also offers free Wi-Fi and has a very small lift, which is useful for luggage.
The hotel is basic and quite dated in its furnishings and decor, but everything functioned as needed. Our daughter’s room, while separate, didn’t have a door and was the route to the bathroom, which might not suit everyone. Towels were on the smaller side, and the lift, though working, was quite compact and not ideal for those who feel claustrophobic.
The Wi-Fi was a little slow, and we didn’t try the food, so we can’t comment on the breakfast or dining options.

The staff was very nice, I requested for a much earlier check-in as I came from a long travel without much sleep and they granted it because it was available early, do bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper, otherwise, its really just okay, not much noise except maybe for opening of doors next door, the high ceiling fan works well for the weather but it does make some noise, the location was perfect and I think the price is quite understandable cause its high season, don't expect a view of any sort but at least there are windows.
I was just startled by cleaning service because they were trying to enter without knocking. my stay was just perfect though

Excellent location, 3 minutes walking to beach, on a pedestrian street filled with coffee shops, restaurants and small outlets. Although we had a street facing room, the local regulations and the quality of tourists ensured that not too much and not too late noise prevented a good sleep. The elevator was broken and we were on the 5th floor- hard to get our luggage up. The room is very small with only a fan above the larger bed, nothing for the person sleeping in the twin bed in the alcove. Mosquitos came in if the windows were left open so terrible choice. We didn’t sleep well- either being bit or stiflingly hot. The toilet lifted off the ground when you sat runs, releasing a terrible sewage odor.

the bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was everything we needed for one night. I would have liked however to see some sort of extractor fan or something similar in the small toilet. The street view was interesting and yes, indeed you could see right to the end of the street and see the sea. Despite being on the main street for dining and foot traffic, we heard no noise during the night and indeed first thing in the morning. It did us a treat for the night we needed. Staff were extremely helpful and we could leave our case (as we were departing from the airport the following day) with them on our arrival day and indeed the next day too until we had to go. It was held in a luggage room in their sister hotel. We did not have breakfast as we had a later meal the previous evening. We were very happy to stay at the Hotel de Alizes. Thankyou.

I arrived in Biarritz quite early but the lady on reception was happy to let me leave my bag at the hotel until check in time. The lady who cleaned the rooms was lovely and super friendly
There was black mould in the shower, and caking the bottom of the door frame in the bathroom. It was damp and also the walls are paper thin - you can hear everything from someone coughing on the street, to room doors being opened. The wifi didn't work the first night, and the lady was rather brusque, telling me to try things that clearly didn't work. The safe was broken (which they did replace), and you had to basically body check the door to get into the room, handles in the main stairwell were broken, etc. Most unfortunate of all was that I developed very severe onset pregnancy sickness after I booked. I requested to be allowed to cancel so that I could stay nearer my friends for the events I was attending (which would have lessened late-night travel, etc), and the manager declined my request. It's really rather rude as this was an honest, unforeseen circumstance.

The stafft had to organize for me a second desk ventilator since the one hanging down was not working and the table ventilator in the room did a pretty poor job. The bath room is tiny. The window was secured by some wood contructions, according to the operator because the owner of the building is not doing maintenance works to secure the integrity of the building. What gives a weird feeling of insecurity. So I understand is not the operators fault.

The room is warm.
The accommodation is quite dilapidated, the furniture is worn out, the television is old, the bedding is clean and so are the bathrooms, but otherwise the accommodation does not appear clean. I cannot describe the accommodation as comfortable, it is more suitable for a night or two.

Yes, it’s a decent price-quality ratio. The building is quite old, of course, but then again, it’s not a luxury spa hotel at that price.
It was clean, the shower worked, and the bed linen and towels were changed for me. I basically only slept at the hotel. I would definitely come back again

You pay for what you get, this is a no frills hotel. The bed was comfortable, and the room had everything one needs to spend the night. It is very basic but the price delivers.
Even if it is a two star hotel, some general mantainance is needed. The sink was cracked, the toilet swiveled a bit when sat upon, and the shower, although the water temperature and pressure were good, was to small to be practical. Also the door of the bathroom was not able to close.
