Excellent postion in the centre of Bordeaux with a good choice of restaurants, bars, cafes, etc nearby. Beds were very comfortable and the room was large with large windows overlooking Bordeaux's neo-classical architecture.
Very little to dislike. Self service breakfast was basic but only 8 euros.

This is our second stay here. We love the location. We can sit outside and watch the world go by. The hotel is right next to the tourist office (and the shop that sells macarons, my favourite). It is just round the corner from the tram and bus station. We are a few steps away from the town centre with the theatre, and streets of shops and restaurants.
We have tried many restaurants in Bordeaux but there is no food better than the chef's creations in this hotel. Try the chicken with the 'Jus Corse' - a truly delicious experience. The fish of the day is always wonderful too.
The rooms are adequate, and the air-con is silent and works well. The beds are just a little small - my only criticism!
The staff here are great. I recognised faces from our last visit, two years ago. People are happy to work here, and they work so hard!!
Only that the beds could be a little larger.

Great location (in the city centre, close to a tram stop). The receptionists were nice and helpful.
The room smelled weird and I couldn't get that smell out. Although the room was cleaned every day, there was dust under the bed so I wouldn't recommend it to people with dust allergies. The breakfast was not worth the money (not sure how it would compare to similar hotels in Bordeaux though).

Calibrate your expectations and this is a fabulous hotel. Itโs an old building right in the centre of the city, canโt get better than this for location. The room, and importantly the bathroom, were spotless.
Itโs an old city centre hotel in France, and that means the rooms are quite a bit smaller than modern hotels. The bed is a very small double, more like a large single. We would ask for a twin next time for extra space. The hotel is old and in need of a renovation, starting to show wear on carpets, fittings, etc but very clean.

The rooms were tired and not very clean like the rest of the hotel. Breakfast we didnโt even get to experience except for a coffee which felt begrudged by the staff member who served it. There were some crumbs of a piece of bread and not much else although I wouldnโt eat there anyway. Iโd hoped for a lovely little French hotel with a few possible forgivable faults but this sadly the hotel went pass that.

The location is fantastic. Very much in the centre of Bordeaux - almost next to the tourism office and the theatre. Breakfast was OK if a little confusing. Our room was at the back of the hotel and surprisingly quiet for the location. It has a bath which we had requested. The lunchtime menu at the restaurant is very good value.
Room and bed were quite small. There was no safe in the room and no kettle either. Breakfast could have done with a hot dish.

The location in the city center, staff at the reception seemed friendly.
The place urgently needs complete renovation. The common spaces, such as the staircase, are absolutely filthy. There are stains on the walls and the carpet is run down and dirty. The room was full of dust, especially on the carpet floor, which looked really disgusting. The window opened on the internal smoking area, and the room smelled of old and dust. The bathroom needs to be renovated urgently, the bathtub was chipped, as the toilet and some tiles. There was mould and a bad smell of sewage coming from the bathtub drain. It is by far the most disgusting hotel I've been, and I absolutely don't understand the 3 stars here on booking.com, the place looks nothing like the pictures.

The place is a bit shabby but my room was spacious and well equipped (I really appreciated the bathtub!!). Desk staff were friendly and helpful and the location is just excellent--near public transport, shopping, cafes, and top attractions.i would totally recommend it.
Desk staff are great but watch out for the maids! They threw away the special cheeses I had bought.

Great location! It was one minutes from tram stop and easy access to everywhere. It was very central and there were so many bars opned until late. I felt very safe after midnight.
All staff are professional and friendly.
Room was quite big, and cleaner did a great job. But the building is old, no matter how hard a cleaner works, bathroom doesn't look clean. and quite smelly.

The location is perfect for a very central trip to bordeaux. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Beds very comfortable and good towels. Even with a street side room it was quiet because of the double windows. Shower although small and basic was very powerful.
I liked the happy man who made my coffee this morning and was singing ! I was delighted the coffee was made like this and not from a machine that lots of hotels have.
The cafe is a really lovely space . Lots of original architectural features which are fantastic . I love the fact that famous opera singers used to stay there.
I enjoyed a.nice wine and a bowl of onion soup in the evening and breakfast the following morning.
The hotel is having some renovations done at the moment so was a little noisy and with floors being replaced in reception are was a little chaotic.
I hope the gentle renovations and improvements continue but please dont take away any of the old charm.
I dont like the small plastic bottles of shower gel, not good for the planet.

It is a very decent and comfortable hotel in the heart of Bordeaux. The bed was very comfortobal and I liked the water jet of the shower which can really massage your tired muscles. There is a nice restaurant adjacent to the hotel.
Minor comment that there is no pluget near the bed but it is really minor.
