Fantastic location for visiting the old town and castle. Good to have parking available. Pool a plus.

GPS does not have one way streets so made finding it difficult. Tiny toilet and no milk supplied for tea or coffee.

Breakfast was nice good choice of everything the location was perfect we opted for a balcony with a view of the castleโ€ฆ. Could look at that view foreverโ€ฆlovely comfortable bed and cushions/pillows. Lovely shower.

Storage not too good awkward to get to hangers, the drawer was hard to open and noisy. No milk and not enough tea and coffee, there were 3 teas and 3 coffees! For two people sharing! Toilet very small and there was no plug for the basin .

Next to the river and the old bridge to the castle.

The interior designer made a very contrived statement with this hotel. The room was okay, but it took a day to figure the bed light switch. The step out of the tub is dangerous, 5โ€ below the tub. The comforter was so thick I thought I was in Finland, not southern France. The restaurant was the most disappointing. The service was poor at best, many people the arrived after us waited a 30 minutes before ordering. Two service persons were making drinks while everyone else waited. It was obvious making drinks was deal! Once the food arrived it was mediocre at best and seriously over priced. Please refill the salt and pepper shakers! The breakfast was good, but learning how to make a hard boiled egg would be nice. Itโ€™s not hard but when done correctly the shell falls right off, compared to losing most of the egg in the shell. Finding the Tribe was 3 laps around town. The GPS wanted to take us down a one way street. Once I tried an alternative route we arrived at the drive down parking. However, there was no sign on that side of the building to identify where we were. After the massive construction to build this hotel and still had to pack bags up from the parking seemed unbelievable. And what was the reception desk? Unacceptably strange. If you want a wonderful dinning experience walk across the bridge the little place in the photos.

The location was brilliant, right at the end of the Pont Vieux bridge to take you to the old Citadel of Carcassonne. The beds were extremely comfortable - the only thing that was. The breakfast room/restaurant on the 4th floor had a brilliant view of the city , especially the old town (citadel). The breakfast was adequate.

Size of the bathroom and the separate toilet was ridiculous. I am only 5' 1'' and could only just about shut the door to the tiny toilet, with my knees hard up on the door. My husband - 5' 10'' could not go to the toilet with the door closed - it was truly ridiculously small, but no window, or ventilation at all as well. The shower room - you could not enter the shower without going around the door and shutting it. Style over substance. The rooms were all painted black and all fittings were black so items were easily misplaced in the room, that had very subtle lighting. The safe in our bedroom was locked in the open position when we arrived so we had to call someone to get it reset- there was only one member of staff on duty at any one time for the whole hotel. The swimming pool was not heated. The light in the swimming pool room was faulty so very dangerous to enter the swimming pool with steps in semi-darkness when we went to use it at around 7pm. No towels provided as stated they would be. I had to call the (one) member of staff from the reception to help with the towels but not with the lights. No changing room but only an accessible toilet to use for this. They should have shut the pool as it was so dangerous.

The hotel is located perfectly for access to the old town and restaurants in the new one. This, and the excellent underground car park (15 E per night), are the only attractions.

I first visited this hotel 10 years ago when it was under different ownership. It has gone down in the world under Tribe ownership. Many of the staff appear to be inexperienced (ours and two other guest room keys were programmed incorrectly on arrival). The reception and bar staff are indistinguishable from the guests, being dressed in jeans and T shirts (maybe this is the Tribe style). Our room, whilst well placed to see the Old Bridge, was unacceptably small and in places dirty (the dust under the bed has been there for many, many months, see picture). The toilet is so small (see picture) that you have to have the door open to sit down!! The air conditioning was inadequate (I assume it was working), bedside light was broken and there are no ironing facilities. The first night in the bar (which opened at 7.30pm) was problematic... they did not have the red wine advertised, there was no tonic, water was only available in 1 litre bottles and there was absolutely no control over the size of the drinks served. The barman poured the amount he thought was appropriate and this varied with every serving. I would also mention that Tribe paint walls black and orange .. if you like this you are in for a treat! In closing, we had friends staying there who left early because their room stank of "toilet", The staff admitted this and had tried to cover it with air freshener!

Quirky, very different to stay in a prison. We knew the furnishing would be a bit sparse but it was comfortable enough- the restaurant was superb and very popular (for a Saturday evening it needs to be booked a couple of weeks in advance).

Intermittent internet connection but that was to do with the very thick walls, it didnโ€™t spoil our stay.

We had a room with a castle view, so the view was great. There was a water bar where we were able to fill up our bottles. The location was between the castle and the city center, so we were able to explore both areas.

It was a bit of a walk from the train station. There is public transportation in Carcassonne that we could have taken, but it didn't show up on Google map.

The hotel appears to be new or recently renovated. It has a modern look, and everything about it is quite convenient. The location is nice, and it features a rooftop bar and a complimentary water bar. Our room also had a separate WC and shower area, which was a really nice feature. The view was okay; unfortunately, we were on the first floor, so it wasnโ€™t the best, but it was still acceptable.

There were two things I didn't like. First, the air conditioning in our room worked strangely; it didnโ€™t cool the room enough and only seemed to function in heating mode. Additionally, the 3.5" screen remained bright and visible all night. If we opened the balcony for ventilation, weโ€™d then have to deal with street noise or wind, which was also inconvenient. I also didnโ€™t like that I was asked for a credit card at check-in. While an open voucher or deposit would have been understandable, I didnโ€™t feel comfortable or safe sharing my credit card details with a hotel employee who would then record it in the computer. This made me consider canceling my card to prevent any potential fraud or data leak. It didnโ€™t seem appropriate, especially since I didnโ€™t sign any GDPR agreement on how my data would be handled. It just didnโ€™t feel right.

I paid extra for a room with a city view but it was at first floor and you could barely see the city... Waste of money. Also, the swimming pool is with cold water what is heated is the place not the water. So the environment is at 45 degrees but the water is at outside temperature.

It is a unique and very comfortable rooms Hotel .bedding and viscounts are excellent, underground parking. Amazing location next to the castle and itโ€™s walls.

There were no hair drier or sleepers in the room fpr being a 4 * could be improved. As regards to the breakfast absolutely not recommended โ€ฆ as they have a pathetic little choice and only ham and hard boiled eggs as a salty part of it โ€ฆbreakfast time is from 7-10 . At 9:40 I was sold at the reception ( and not only to me ,there were several other guests after me ) there wa a promised freshly squeezed juice (there was was only the concentrate of full of sugar!!!) No bread or pastries and breakfast manager said we have no more ) thatโ€™s for the price of โ‚ฌ18 per Person , hilarious . I would liken to be refunded for this terrible โ€œbreakfastโ€ experience as I had to go to another pastry shop afterwards to have a decent one โ€ฆ Enjoy the hotel but avoid breakfast !!!

Amazing view of the citadel from our room and balcony which was gorgeous. The hotel was very modern, very comfortable and suited us perfectly - breakfast was great, and staff were friendly.

We did have an extraordinarily small bathroom (think knees touching the door when you used the lavatory) and the swimming pool is very cold, so not so great in winter.

Excellent breakfast (continental) with wide variety of choice. I particularly appreciated the oef cocotte en parmesan (egg cooked in cheese). Location superb, at the entrance to the bridge that leads up to the old city. I recommend paying a little extra for a room with balcony overlooking the old city. Another great feature was the elegant rooftop bar/restaurant (where breakfast is served), with even better view of the old ciลฅy.

The room was a really good size, a comfy bed. The bathroom was spacious and had a good supply of toiletries and lotions which was nice. The views from the restaurant on the 4th floor and the rooftop were really good. Staff were very nice and helpful.

Two days in a row there was no soap in the customer bathrooms on the ground floor (we used our own hand sanitiser). The TV seemed to cut out French channels after a few minutes and force us into a sign-in view for paid-for entertained (Netflix, Amazon etc), rather than let us watch the local channels.

The price; the. Balcony; the view - classic view of the walled city.

The room was tiny and very dark with dark greenish black wall paint - you could not see in the desk area at all. The decor was ultra modern with very low chairs in the dining room or high bar type seating. The breakfast lacked fruit except a canned fruit salad in syrup. In the room there was one tiny just above footstool chair and one desk chair and one metal chair and a useless waste of space table on the balcony. The. Toilet room and wash room were on opposite sides of the entryway; the toilet room was painted in the dark greenish color and had no ventilation. The washroom had a shower over tub with high sides and narrow so very hard to get into.

Has the best view of the city, you have the castle just in front of you. Has a very nice restaurant where you can have dinner or happy our. Donโ€™t miss the roof top, takes your breath away. The location is the real highlight โ€” right by the river with stunning views of the old city, and just a short walk to the modern center. The rooms are modern, clean, and very comfortable, though on the smaller side. The reception and entrance area could use a refresh, but overall, a great stay in a perfect spot for exploring Carcassonne.

Good location. I liked that hotel has a private parking. Big modern room. View to the castle from the room - at night it looks beautiful in highlights.

Was a little bit scary to use shower as it was easy to wet floor nearby. Air conditioner worked strange first time (permanent and a bit load).

Location and views.

The place has an awful sewage smell both in the bathrooms and even worse in the lobby hallway heading to the second elevator. The WORST I ever experienced all three days I was there. Ironically, the wall at the end of the hall is painted with the word TOILETS. By the time you reach the second elevator, it smells like you are in a medieval prison sewer.

The hotel location was just lovely - it's by the river with a nice view of the castle and old walled city. Beds were comfortable.

Room access was tricky with sensitive mechanisms - we were able to open the door with our room card the first time, but the following times, we couldn't. Gentleman at the reception insinuated that we tinkered with or changed the lock settings (which we didn't even know about and therefore did NOT do). He probably just didn't want to be troubled to open our door himself. Also - the toilet was ridiculously tiny by any standard.

Staff were fantastic. Everyone, reception, bars and the cleaners just so friendly and helpful.

Toilet in room tiny!! Room very dark. Not enough space for clothes. Very little cupboard space.
