Great family room with additional bedroom for kids, very comfortable, very warm, clean, and great bathroom. The breakfast was complete with everything it says will be included. The location is just like 10 meters away from the bus stop, so that is great. They have a space where you can storage your ski/snowboard equipment. And the staff is very friendly!
Even though the site says that wifi is included, the wifi quality left a lot to desire. And though you seemed connected to wifi, the connection was very weak and you could not use any apps.

Superb location!! Staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was nice. Rooms and bed could do with update, bed are not too comfy but we had last room with twin beds. The view of the Mont Blanc from the window was worth the money though. Nice bar restaurant right next to it. Breathtaking walks.
Bed were hard. Room very expensive, but I suppose the location makes it worth it.

The lake nearby is a lovely spot.

Nice little hotel, a little dated but perfectly fine for us. Views across to the mountains from the room a nice touch. The owners were lovely, and the hotel itself was pretty quiet and made a good base at the end of the day. Rooms are on the smaller side, but perfectly fine for 2 friends or a couple to share.
We paid extra for the breakfast buffet which was simple but good. Staff were attentive and we thought the food was good quality and was more than adequate for our needs. There are no cafes or restaurants nearby, so we opted to take the breakfast most mornings.
Hotel 1 minute from the bus stop with buses every 30 mins to the main ski lifts in both directions. Around 15-20 minute walk from town as an alternative option.
The hotel also has a boot room outside for keeping your skis etc, which was also good.
Overall we enjoyed this hotel and for the budget price we can definitely recommend.
Hotel du Lacs is a long-ish walk from town, so if that matters to you then stay closer to the centre. We didn't mind this, but if you're staying longer than a few days you might want to choose somewhere in town.
No shops or restaurants nearby, although the hotel next door does have a lively bar and restaurant. If you need to eat then this is always an option.
Would have been nice to have hot drinks facilities in the room, a kettle would be a nice touch. Also maybe options for food storage so we could make simple dinners in the evenings - but this is more a nice to have. As a budget hotel you don't tend to expect this, but would be very useful.

Poor facilities: no hair dryer, no shelves to put little things, no mirror in the room, only one socket under the little desk where the charger does not reach the surface to put on the device, tv very small, in bathroom no hook or shelf to put cosmetic bag or clothes - everything goes on the wet floor or onto toilet, shower curtains wasn't changed - smells, no kettle.., so a bit poor facilities for nowadays. Overall, the room was very empty which makes uncomfortable atmosphere to be inside the room.

The hotel was perfect for us. We had two rooms as our base for skiing in Les Houches. The staff were always friendly and engaging. The hotel's located about a 20 minute walk from Chamonix, which was fine for us as we walked in each evening. Les Houches ski area is a 10 minute drive down the valley. The hotel also has good bus and train access to and from Chamonix. The rooms were always well cleaned, appropriately sized, with plenty of storage and a simple but functional en suite. The views from the balcony are spectacular. Always great to stay in a hotel with its own free car park!
