We arrived at hotel after a short taxi ride from train station and realised that we had left important papers in the taxi. Aba and Christelle in reception immediately rang taxi company and arranged for him to return. Their quick thinking saved us a lot of grief. What we liked very much is that this hotel is right next to the (car-free) center of Colmar. No need to get out your car in the evening to go to a nice restaurant. Also easy to exit to go to nearby beautiful villages like Riquewihr, Ribeauvillรฉ, etc. We also very very much liked starting our mornings with its breakfast ;-).
The room and bathroom was clean but to our taste very small + somewhat on the dark side (just one window). The front of the hotel is also not on a very nice street... but once you turn the corner you are away from it + when you walk like 50meters you can have a good drink or a great meal (try eg restaurant Pfeffel !). Biggest concern: do not come with a too bigger car - really needed my BMW5 sensors to maneuver in(to) the parking. Anything bigger - not sure you can get in/out without a scratch.

Mercure Colmar is the perfect distance for a stopping off from Calais. It is also really central only 3 mins walk to the old centre with lots of resturaunts to choose from. Staff are great, comfortable beds. Thats why we have stayed here before.

This was the most uncomfortable room we stayed at during our travel through Europe. The bed was as hard as a rock, I think sleeping on the floor might have been more comfortable. For a 4 star hotel it seemed to lack amenities such as proper coffee or water in the rooms, toiletries (just one single general bottle of soap for all purposes) etc.

Great location, walking distance from the Christmas markets. The buffet breakfast included was the best during my trip. Happy to see no plastic bottles, only water glass jars to refill. Check-in was fast, and they gave me cookies, which is always a plus!

A very big disappointment. Definitely not 4 star standard. Was very upset to see a board with prices of the rooms behind a scruffy reception desk, (not welcoming at all)โฆI paid 100 euros per day more booking with booking . com ! ( Definitely not worth the โฌ400 a night) Room very small and not up to standard โฆcarpets outside rooms not pleasant on the eyes & breakfast very poor ..you cannot even order a fried egg !

1. The staff was superb. Reception has an amazing command of French, English, and German. They were warm in greeting and always ready to assist in any way they could. Staff who assisted during breakfast were very attentive and always busy re-stocking and cleaning. Cleaning staff (although we did not request any cleaning during our stay) was obviously very thorough and left a note on our door to notify us they had not cleaned our room because we had left the "Do not disturb" sign up, just to clarify to us that if we wanted that service, we would need to remove that sign (presented, as I recall, in French, English, and German). I appreciated they were making every effort to make it clear how to utilize the services they offered.
2. The breakfast was always outstanding. There is a wide selection of hot foods (eggs, bacon, crepes, and even baked beans for the Brits!) There are also the standard cold cuts, TONS of delicious cheese, pastries and breads, and a large selection of juices and coffee types that are made easily with picture selections on one of two machines. Do note there is an extra charge for breakfast.
3. The parking is paid, and was easy and secure. There is a 10-15min parking area right out front upon arrival. Once you check in and unload, you just proceed up the street and make an immediate left to turn down into their parking garage. They will give you instructions, but you basically press two buttons and they buzz you in. Do know that the second garage door appears that it is about to hit you, as it opens toward you, but it won't. Getting to and from your car to pack back up is an easy elevator ride to level -2.
4. The rooms had complimentary coffee/ tea as well as a safe and small fridge, which is always helpful. These were probably the most easy to use showers for Americans, as they were mostly enclosed.
My only complaint was that it was a bit confusing leaving the parking garage. We only accessed the car to arrive and leave, so I have no clue how this is handled if you come and go by car frequently, but we had to go up the wrong direction (left instead of right lane) to enter the exit code, push a button, then have the gate open. Once we realized that, it was easy.
