Room 22 was the worst. The room had a thermostat controlled heater and air conditioner that did not work at all, it just pushed a meager amount of air through it. So they had a separate portable air conditioner in the room, but it required the window to be wide open to vent the air, which didn't work at all. The room was like 25 degrees all day until it cooled down at night outside. I had to keep the window open for the AC to work at all, and stuffed blankets in around it to keep the warm air from coming back in. However, it was loud because the window was open. Plus you had to climb another flight up a narrow stair to get to that room and there was a bright fluorescent light on all night to illuminate the stair in case of a fire. The room was not very clean and the soap/shampoo was empty. Plus there's no shower, and the tub has a VERY low ceiling above it which meant squatting in the tub to wash. Needless to say that did not go well.
I asked for another room, but none were available. It was dismal.

A small room, overlooking courtyards -- quiet. Surprising red walls. Dim lighting. Elevator serves 2 buildings, with different floor levels. But efficient.
Awkward coffee service. Staff was not helpful with warnings about the erratic navette shuttle service to the train station.

This hotel could not have been better as far as location. It was also quite charming and the entire facility added to our experience.
Our first room was absolutely tiny. Barely even enough floor space to open our suitcases. After the first night I asked the clerk whether another room was available. We were told it was, however we would have to climb some steep stairs to an attic type bedroom. We accepted this and switched rooms. That room was absolutely charming with much more space, and the stairs weren't a problem for us. The switch turned out to be very positive.

It is located right at the center, we had a room on the top floor with a beautiful view of the city. The room was fine, I loved the view, the beds are small twin beds and can easily slide from the floor, but it was not an issue at all. The staff shared information and a map about Colmar with us.
In general I liked the place the only thing I didn't like was the huge light from the mirror's button, which was annoying at night due to the crystal bathroom's door. But again that is just a detail that just total-darkness sleepers will notice.

The location was excellent, in the middle of things, but also an easy walk to the train station. There are restaurants everywhere. The bed was comfortable. There were a lot of electrical outlets. The shower was large and had a door. Breakfast was delicious with a wide array of choices. The desk clerks were friendly.
I wanted to love the hotel, but I didn't. My room seemed to be designed more for style than for convenience. The sink was in the room. The shower and toilet each had separate rooms. There was no towel rack for bath towels and they were kind of rough. The sink was the main problem. There was only a narrow ledge above the sink and the light came straight down from the ceiling, making it hard to put on makeup.
The rooms are locked with old-fashioned keys. The desk clerks neglected to tell me that the doors needed to be locked with the key. They didn't tell me how to turn on the heater either. The Wi-Fi wasn't strong enough to back up my pictures, even in the lobby. But they did log me into their private network that worked . These little things were irritating. I think that they could have done better.

There were multiple problems with our state. The Internet/wifi was down. I can’t remember the last time I stayed at a hotel that did not have working Internet. The entire stay it did not have working Internet. That is amazing to me. Quite disappointed. We went down and asked the front desk about it and he just shrugged his shoulder saying it’s not a good Internet/wifi connection. Second, a fire alarm went off twice at 1am and again at 1:30am. We were standing outside for a long time. We were up for half the night. No good sleep.Then we didn’t have hot water for showers the next morning. I still don’t know what happened. There were a lot of people complaining at the front desk so we never got a chance to talk to anybody. But no hot water, up half the night with 2 fire alarms, and no Internet for what we paid seemed ridiculous. That was very disappointing.

The breakfast buffet had an ample selection and started at 7am. The parking garage is a 7 minute walk and inexpensive, 3€ for 24 hours.
The internet was spotty at best. The bath was very small and the shower had a bit of a mildew smell to it. Also, the rooms could use a little sprucing up. I’m sure it was due to a small size of the bath with little ventilation. Lots of street noise could be heard in the room.

The location is phenomenal, right in the thick of the christmas markets and really easy to walk to from the main train station. I stayed in the "suite de la rose" which was super cute and would be amazing for a couple.
The wifi was utterly unusable. If like me you have to work when you travel, this is not the place for you. I paid 500gbp for one night in their Suite de la rose and for that price, in 2025, I expect working wifi. To get anything at all you have to basically sit on the front desk at reception and you MIGHT get a little coverage for intermittent use if you're lucky.
The breakfast too was absolutely dreadful, unless you enjoy bad coffee and pastry first thing, you're better going hungry.

I loved staying here. The hotel is in a beautiful old refurbished building with twisting stairs and charming rooms. There’s also an elevator so you don’t have to schlep luggage up those stairs! Breakfast was reasonably priced and had a wide variety of items. The town was gearing up for Christmas and everything felt great. I’d like to go back there and stay for a week.

Amazing location and the rooms were cute. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast is constantly refreshed.
If you’re a light sleeper ask for the other building because the main one you can hear any noise at all in the hall.
