Less than 10 minutes away from the train station, the main town and around 15 minute walk to the canal was the main positive thing about this hotel. Even though it is next to the train station the double windows keep all noise out.
The beds were quite comfortable too.
The bathroom was not at all comfortable. Had a small tub , that barely fit an adult. Having a shower was a bit of a challenge. The water would go everywhere.
We had Nescafé sachets on arrival only... it doesn't cost much to offer again . We stayed 4 nights.

This is an very clean and comfortable hotel close to the Train Station and close walking distance to the old town and all the city attractions. Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. room was very clean and well serviced each day. Breakfast area was large and range was good. They were also very helpful with providing us with access to an earlier breakfast as we had an early bus transfer. Staff always provided information to assist with making our stay very pleasant.

No hand sanitizer as you enter breakfast area. After two months of traveling around Europe, this was the only hotel which did NOT provide hand sanitizer at breakfast. With several obvious sick people in breakfast area, this was disgusting.

Very good location, close to the central station and town centre. The room was well equipped with a kettle and some teas/coffees. Friendly staff. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. I got a balcony too, however it was on a busy street so quite noisy, but at the same time there was a view of the beautiful mountains so it was worth it.
My room was on the emergency exit so to open the doors it was a bit of a specific procedure, which might be a struggle for some people. There was an emergency light in the room which was very bright and disturbed me since I like to sleep in total darkness. I'm of average height but the bed was too short for me. I would also suggest more sustainable cups as the ones in the room were made of paper and wrapped in plastic.

Very nice localitation near the railwaystation. Nice bathrooms with bathtube. Very well isolated windows witch stayed out all noice from the street and the railway.
There is a good supermarket just around the corner and short walkingdistance to the historic centre of Colmar!
Good breafast with different kind of bread, cakes, cereals, yoghurt, juices and all kind of coffe and tea!
Friendly personal who take care of the guests and let them leave the luggage before ore after check in/out!
In our room there was a green light emergency exit with strong light. We have to hang a towel over it to get dark In the room.

The Originals is a good hotel located very close to both the train/bus station and also the old town in Colmar. It takes about ten minutes to reach both, perhaps a little less to the train station and a little more to the heart of the old town. The room was good size and the bed comfortable. Bathroom facilities are good. The room also has A/C available which is probably good during warm summers or cold winters. Free luggage storage. 24/7 reception. There is a Carrefour City food store just two minutes away.
It was a little annoying having to hand in the key every time you leave the hotel. Especially when you have to wait to get it back so you can head to your room (because you came back at the same time as people are checking in). Also, if you room faces the train tracks you'll probably hear the trains. Fortunately there are not many trains during the night.

- good location for us: less than 10 min walk to the train station and about the same to the town
- the trains could slightly be heard like in the room but the balcony doors had two doors so was pretty soundproof
- able to check in early and check out is easy
- there was a bottle lid on the floor the whole time we stayed and when I checked as we left, I noticed about 4 other lids under the bed too. Apart from that, everything else seemed clean
- the toilet seemed to be coming off of the wall - made a noise every time it was sat on
- no extractor fan in the bathroom so the room steamed up
- had to hold the shower head whilst showering and had to be careful not to wet the floor

It’s about a 10-15 minute walk to the main spots. The place is super clean, and being so close to the train station is a huge plus. It made arriving and leaving a breeze since you don't have to lug your bags into the city center (where taxis can't go). We visited in winter and the heating worked well, but the room is equipped with A/C too. Finally, the staff was nice and funny—one even cracked a joke about getting lost in the hotel "labyrinth" (which is accurate).
Great location and staff, but be ready for train noise and room quirksThe trains! You will definitely hear and feel them. I was lucky to have a room on the opposite side which dampened the noise and vibrations a lot, but it’s something to be aware of.
The building is old, and speaking strictly about the room I got (not generalizing here): the layout isn't really optimized. Don't get me wrong, it's fully functional, but there are quirks. The shower head is mounted over the tub's sloped backrest instead of the flat standing area, so standing under it is a challenge. The hair dryer is strangely placed right above the toilet, and I actually had to unplug the nightstand light just to charge my phone. Also, the room is pretty dim since the only light comes from the bedside lamps and a small desk light.

The receptionists were rude, the room was not warm enough for winter (the room itself had only AC for heating). Although stated in other reviews as well, the staff does not have a solution for the room temperature. The bed was not comfortable, but still ok for a short stay. The room was dark - it was not an issue for us due to a short stay but maybe worth considering. Overall, not the best option for a long-term stay.

The guy at the desk on the morning of January 25 was super sweet and kind and left us with a nice memory. I enjoyed the coffee and the glasses of yogurt at breakfast. It was close to the train station (10 minute walk) and to the center of Colmar (10 minute walk)
I didn’t like that it was super loud. We had a tough time sleeping (and we usually don’t notice noise). Also, the shower head was off of the wall which made for an uncomfortable shower.

Staffs are really kind and helpful about everything. We couldn't make a reservation at the local restaurant, but they helped us with that. I'd forgotten my phone charger at home, and they gave me a temporary one. The staff were always smiling.
I was a little worried because I read comments about hearing train noises, but we were never bothered by train noises. There was no problem at all because of the double glazing.

I recently stayed here for one night and found the location to be the absolute highlight. Being so close to the train stations made getting around incredibly easy. While you can hear the trains passing by, it didn't bother me much since my stay was short, but light sleepers might want to take note.
Regarding the rooms, I booked both a triple and a double. Interestingly, they felt like the exact same size; the triple just had an extra bed squeezed in. Be prepared for a tight fit if you're traveling in a larger group.
The general cleanliness of the hotel was impressive, and I found the beds to be very comfortable, which made for a good night's sleep. The staff were also quick to look into my inquiries. For a quick "home base" while exploring the city, it serves its purpose well.
I am generally satisfied with my stay. Because I was only there for a night, the minor inconveniences didn't ruin the experience. If you're looking for a clean, well-located spot for a short trip, this is a solid choice!
The biggest downside was the air conditioning. In my 2-person room, the unit wasn't functioning. When I asked the staff, they confirmed it was down in their system—meaning they were aware of the issue before checking me in but assigned the room anyway. While it was winter and I could manage, the room became quite warm and stuffy during the day. Since there was no other ventilation and I didn't feel comfortable leaving the balcony doors open all night, it made the environment less than ideal.
Another thing for travelers to note is that the walls are quite thin; you can hear a fair amount of noise from the hallways and neighboring rooms, again it didn't bother me much.
