Set in the heart of the historic center of Dijon, Maison Philippe Le Bon Hôtel, Restaurant & Bar le 19 is 984 feet from Palais des Ducs de Bourgogne. Rooms offer views over the city of Dijon, the interior garden or Gothic courtyard or over rue Sainte Anne. Restaurant La Closerie serves inventive, seasonal gourmet cuisine, complemented by an excellent wine list featuring many local wines. La Closerie offers elegant dining in a setting dating back to the 17th century, with original floortiles, exposed beams and rustic stonework, yet infused with contemporary touches.

In the summertime, lunch and dinner can be served in the hotel's private garden. A full buffet breakfast is served daily. Please note that our restaurant will be closed from the 1st January 2025 until 28th February 2025 as it will be undergoing renovations.

We are still providing breakfast, but as room service only. This was our third or fourth stay here; it is quiet but central with a beautiful courtyard. Dinner in the restaurant was very good although the service was a bit slow: disappointing as there were very few diners despite it being a Saturday night

The room was far too stuffy as the aircon did not work at all; we opened the windows but this meant partially drawing back the blackout curtains and the front lighting was disturbing

location was good with a multi story car park directly opposite so convenient is using a car, the staff were excellent on check-in, very chatty and smiley and helped us with a map and info of the surrounding area and getting our bags to our room for us. the tea and coffee facilities were very good with lovely artisinal tea bags

The first impressions weren't very good, the front door had been smashed and the front of the property was not very inviting, this caused us some concern and we were worried that we were not in a good area. Our room was very basic and the bathroom facilities were underwhelming, the windows had a mix of curtains and blinds which didn't block out the light that well so the room was light early in the morning. We actually decided to leave a night early and when we informed the reception they charged us a cancellation fee of £50 even though we would have paid for a night we weren't using and not asking for reimbursement considering our disappointment.

Actually loved this hotel, opposite a car park (and cheap I may add) if there’s is full, the man on reception couldn’t have been more helpful, reception full of English people so couldn’t practise my French and with the reception so quiet I ended up whispering and then so did he and whispered “why are we whispering” haha very funny, the bar was lovely to sit out in in the evening. The room was perfect, every detail had been checked, location was very very good

Very convenient parking across the road and a short walk into the centre of Dijon.

The restaurant was closed the night we were staying, and the breakfast was overpriced for what it was. You are better off going into Dijon and finding breakfast in a boulangerie (try Beurre Noisette).

We selected this hotel because of its location close to the historical centre and the fact that it had its own car park. On this respect, the hotel fulfilled our expectations and more. Our stay was very enjoyable. The restaurant is top quality and the rooms very quiet at night (a clear bonus for a city-centre location). Add to this the possibility to visit their Renaissance courtyard: a real architectural treasure!

There isn't really anything I could complain about :-) If I wanted to be picky, I could mention the fact that the waitress never came to take our orders while we were sitting in the bar area, but the place was clearly very busy at the time and she was dealing with it on her own.

The room was quite small, but very clean and comfortable. The location was excellent, across the street from the Musee de la vie bourguinonne and just a short walk to all the attractions in the old city. Parking onsite is available (a rarity in these historic towns!), but you have to reserve it in advance because there are only a few spaces.

The restaurant is excellent, but closed for dinner on Sunday and Monday. (The excellent breakfast is available every day.)

A great location and a building with much history. The restaurant/breakfast room is lovely and breakfast is good value with a good range of choices. The bar is very nice and we enjoyed a drink there. Even though the hotel is situated with streets on either side, there wasn’t any street noise that disturbed us. The courtyards and historical areas are a bonus.

I think much depends on whether your room is in the older part of the hotel or the newer. We were in the older section which involves a bit of a hike to get your bags up curved stairwells. Our room was a little dated (the carpet needs renewal) but quite comfortable. The main problem is the plumbing. Whenever taps, or the toilet especially are used, the noise reverberates for an extended period of time. I was woken during the night by the prolonged whooshing sound through the pipes. The shower was over the bath. A rubber mat would be appreciated as the surface was quite slippery which is especially problematic when stepping out.

Room was excellent - very comfortable and only one of two on the fourth (top) floor. Facilities were fine and the bed very comfortable. The hotel was centrally located and easy to reach the old part of the city. Reception staff were very friendly and professional. The bar was great, service good and dinner was excellent.

The location was very central to the City of Dijon. The premium rooms were located in the historic part of the hotel which would definitely enhance a stay. Our room 36 on the third floor of the newer part of the property was clean with really good shower. Geoffrey a reception staff member was very helpful and patient when we asked to change rooms (see comments below) . He was totally sympathetic to our needs and made our stay at the hotel a more positive experience. We did not eat there for either dinner (the restaurant is shut on Mondays). Or breakfast the next day. We were only staying 1 night on our journey North. Overall I would recommend the hotel if you have the budget to upgrade to more than a standard room.

We were first allocated room 30 on the 3rd floor having booked a standard room. This was basically a cupboard and neither my husband or myself would have been able to have a shower as the shower over a bath had been squeezed into an eve space and was totally impractical for any sort of showering. The standard rooms are not good value for money.

We were given the wrong room ! , which was not even fit for a child ! the second room was very poor for what we paid , the bed was so worn out that it collasped in the middle was left us with very little sleep ! , when we went to the breakfast area , no greeting or good morning , we navigated the breakfast area which was terrible , no cheese board, no yogurt , no ham , so the offer was so poor i complained , even the scrambled egg looked near empty , dried out , staff refused to replenish ? and one half eaten French stick , front desk staff were arrogant and devoid of responsibilty , they even charged us 32 euro for breakfast ! as for being 4star ,this is a joke !

Our special celebration was beyond expectations, mainly due to the efficient and charming staff at this lovely historic hotel. Brice and Geoffrey were exceptional in their efforts to make our stay as pleasant as possible. When there was a small glich in our first room, they were fast to address the problem and make us comfortable. When we wanted to share a drink with new friends, also staying at this charming hotel, they took care of this although the bar was closed. Dijon is a magnificent city and this is the place to stay. Just call Brice or Geoffrey and they will take care of you!

The room was lovely, very well appointed, very comfortable and clean. There is a choice of lift or stairs. The location is great, tucked away, with limited parking onsite but a public garage is almost almost immediately opposite. The restaurant was excellent - an extensive menu and wine list, great cocktails - I recommend the Philippe Le Bon. The food was delicious.

We've stayed here once before - the location is fabulous and it is just opposite a public car park which is a good "value for money" option to the hotel's private parking (we paid 6,80 euros for an overnight). The rooms are very comfy and well appointed. We found our bed a little too soft for our tastes but otherwise we couldn't complain about our night's sleep. Areas of the hotel have been renovated and improved, notably the restaurant and breakfast room, all of which have been done with taste. The dinner menu and food was excellent, with an excellent choice of wines. And breakfast was pretty good value for money all in all. But it is the staff that are the cherry on the cake... very welcoming and efficient. Good choice!!

Our bed was a little too soft for our liking and rustled as if there was a plastic mattress protector, which is a little off putting. But this is really nitpicking!!!!

The parking is small and with a narrow access, book ahead for a place. Don't worry if you don't get one though as there's a bag drop parking right outside and a secure carpark directly opposite.

Hotel is well situated to explore Dijon and had on site parking (charged for separately) or alternative parking close by. We were greeted by very friendly and helpful member of staff who even came out to direct us to parking. His English was excellent and we enjoyed his intro to both the hotel and Dijon. The room was in the modern part of the hotel and was great, well laid out, great shower and fluffy, fresh towels. There is an older part of hotel which is being refurbed and we were told these rooms are worth a stay when finished. We enjoyed the cocktail bar and the breakfast, didn't get chance to try the restaurant. We would deffo recommend
