Located in the city center, only 1640 feet from the old city, this 19th-century building was turned into a hotel in 2006. It features air-conditioned rooms, 2 meeting rooms and private, secured parking. A fitness center is also available.
With a view of the city or the internal courtyard, the spacious rooms at Mercure Le Mans Center include a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, free WiFi access and a private bathroom. Some of them are suitable for disabled guests. Breakfast is served daily and the traditional-style on site restaurant, open only for dinner, offers French dishes.
The lounge bar offers room service, a wide selection of fine wines and music entertainment. Guests can also enjoy a drink at the on-site bar. The Préfecture Tram Stop is only 1969 feet away and leads directly to Le Mans SNCF Train Station, which is 1 mi away.
Saint-Julien du Mans Cathedral is a 15-minute walk away while Le Mans racing track is a 15-minute drive away.

The hotel has private parking which is perfect for travellers like us, the room was very nice, big and comfortable. The hotel is very close to the city center, cathedral and restaurants. Staff was friendly and upgraded our room without even asking, but because they had it available. Thanks. Can't fault it.

Good location with enclosed parking. Grand building and very friendly, helpful staff
Sadly, there were roadworks below the room (obviously nothing the hotel could do, and we were upgraded) but all night cars clanked over metal coverings which reached a crescendo in the morning rush hour and then the drilling, scraping and noise began. It marred a lovely visit.

Lovely hotel, the building being converted from that of a former insurance company, with some very nice architecture. The room was large and well appointed, the bathroom was great. Location for Le Mans Centre visiting for business is excellent. Car parking normally available, but if busy there are spaces for free outside, or paid spaces within 3 mins walking. Have stayed many times and the customer service and breakfast has always been excellent

I think the staff were very friendly and accommodating. They were also very helpful in suggesting places to eat. The secure parking was very attractive as we were on motorbikes and security is a priority.
I think think the breakfast could have been better. The eggs were a little over done as maybe also the sausages. The continental breakfast also felt like they were not so fresh, but it was ok ... just could've been better :)

Great Parking for our large estate Car, one open car park and one underground I believe.(See piccy of my Car at back left)
Staff were great and we had a Free upgrade to an Executive Room, really nice size room, we are those people that are never Lucky to get upgrades so that was good.
Location on edge of City good, short walk to most areas.
GO visit Old Town, Cite De Plantagenet.
IF you upgrade people to a better Room with a Nice Coffee Machine, please give more than two Coffees to drink ....
I wonder how busy the Parking gets if you are late in, the rear Car Park seems to share a bit with other Hotels out the back.

Our room and bathroom were both incredibly spacious and comfortable. Parking was convenient once I finally got to ask about the location at the front desk. My husband idled outside for almost 10 minutes while she was on the phone and when I came back from giving him directions, she was helping someone else so all in all, checkin took almost 20 minutes. But the room had a lot of old character and was the biggest we’ve had in the last 3 weeks of travel.
I didn’t feel very welcomed during the 20-minute checkin. It would have been nice to just receive a little wave of acknowledgment. The location makes for a pretty uninteresting walk of about 15 minutes to get to a restaurant.

A grand hotel that still has special ambience. The staff were all helpful and friendly. Our room (421) was impressive with a cupola ceiling and spacious bathroom. Very dog friendly so we were able to eat and drink with our pet in the restaurant and bar.
A bit tricky to find during the current road upheavals in Le Mans so maybe the hotel could provide some up to date information to drivers who are trying to get to the parking.

A lot worse than my last stay. I don't think the room was prepared properly. Poor for a 4* hotel to have things missing. Needed to go down to reception in the morning to get soap and shampoo for example. Pillows also need to be improved. Night and day compared to the 4* hotel I'm staying at in San Sebastian. Breakfast was very good though.

The breakfast was included and excellent. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Lovely pastries and fruit set out for tea time.
We booked 2 rooms, one for a single woman and one for a couple. It was odd that they gave the single woman the room with the queen bed and the couple the room with single beds. Since she had unpacked, we didn't switch but it seems like the receptionist would have assigned the rooms accordingly. From the location it was easy to walk to the historic town and the Jardin, or catch the metro to the 24 Hour Le Mans Museum.

The staircase and the exterior of the hotel looked historic and cool.
The updates to this hotel were odd. It clearly had it's glory days with the staircase and some exposed woodwork, but the updates over the years made it feel a bit drab.

Room was large and well equipped (good coffee machine + robes & slippers). It had a large secure car park at the back of the property which was the main reason we booked it. We didn't realise there was a charge though, We assumed it was included in the price of the room. It was centrally located and only a 5 minute walk into the central square and down to the river.
Breakfast was basic, cereals, cake and continental. No toaster to toast the bread. Only hot item was a pot of scrambled egg. It was chargable and not included in the price. Had I known I would have gone out to eat.

Stayed at the Mercure Le Mans Centre and would definitely return. Lovely room with a bath, excellent blackout curtains and really good WiFi. The building itself is beautiful — a converted old insurance company with an incredible stained glass windows full of character 10 mins from Cathedral and old quarter.
It’s around a 20-minute walk from the station, which was easy enough. Breakfast was genuinely amazing: boil-your-own eggs, incredible homemade cakes baked daily, local honey, fresh bread, croissants, grapes and fruit available throughout the day, and they even lay items out for you to take away. A really thoughtful touch.
Staff were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable about the local area, and late check-out was much appreciated.
Only small gripe was the lift, which seems to have a life of its own and definitely isn’t big enough for hotel.
The layout of the stairs/floors can also feel a bit confusing — I got stuck on the first floor before realising I needed to go via the second!

The room was clean with a big bathroom and comfortable bed. In terms of decor- it could use an update but there is fundamentally nothing wrong with it. The staff was helpful and friendly and the prices reasonable.
Location is very average and not near anything you would want to visit. Cathedral and old part of the city is a good 15 minute walk through a residential part of the city.
