The staff were extremely helpful. My luggage was lost and they tried their best to help, even providing me with a charger cable for my phone which was life saving! I felt like I was staying at a family's house, wonderful ambiance and personalized service. This place is definitely the only place I would like to stay if I'm ever in Montpellier again.

The bed was comfortable although it took up virtually the entire room. The tram stop was only a 10 minute walk away. The hotel faces the historic aquaduct where there is a nice Wednesday market.
Virtually everything. Their wifi network limits you to one device at a time which is impractical these days. I couldn't be on the phone while working on my laptop at the same time. Synching my Kindle was also a problem. There was a countdown timer that takes 65 seconds between logging off one device and logging on another. Just ridiculous these days! Due to Covid, I do not want my room cleaned since no one is wearing masks now. I put the do not disturb sign on my door wedged into the frame so it couldn't fall off. I returned to find my room cleaned and the do not disturb sign gone. All of my electronics were unplugged and moved and all of my luggage rearranged. The next day (since I no longer had a do not disturb sign) I told 2 staff members that I wanted no service for my room. They both repeated my request in acknowledgement. Once again, I returned to find the room tidied (definitely not cleaned) and my AC turned off (it was almost 90 degrees which made the room sweltering). I went downstairs and reported these issues to the nice woman at the front desk. There wasn't anything she could do except relay my frustrations. This property is on the older, less interesting side of town. The area closer to Place de Comedie and Antigone is where the interesting sights are and it is closer to the beaches too. This hotel is not handicapped accessible and difficult for people with heavy luggage and/or strollers since there are 15+ steps to enter and then another 20+ up a narrow spiral staircase to rooms on the first floor and double that for the second floor.

- Poor soundproofing of the walls (you can hear the telephone from the reception, noises coming from the corridors, etc.)
- Air conditioning was out of service during a heat wave, our room was over 26 degrees at night ... a shame for a 3 stars establishment ..., the only solution offered was a fan. The next day we have learned that other unoccupied rooms also had this kind of issue. Please note also that we did not have a change of room during the same night.
We had also to ask for a commercial gesture, which was normal for the situation. The establishment remained vague and offered us a commercial gesture on a future stay. We came only to visit this city and we are not going to come back right away ... and it's not what we call a commercial gesture strictly speaking ...

Beautiful little oasis in the centre of town. Loved the shady court yard for breakfast and the occasional bit of work. Comes with a cat and occasionally a dog, a bonus for me! The hotel is housed in a beautiful old building opposite the aqueduct. The garden in the back is a real bonus - imaginatively planted and with some comfortable seating areas. The aircon throughout was an absolute godsend. There is a modern functional breakfast room, although we didn't use it. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful - to the extent that they carried our bags up two flights of steep, narrow stairs (there is no lift and we are of a certain age)
Because of the historical constraints of the building, our room (Classic Double) was very small, although we were told that it was by no means the smallest. There is extensive infrastructure work going on in Montpellier at present - tramlines have been re-routed and are being extended. The road outside the front of the hotel is currently blighted (although not directly outside) which made getting to and from the hotel more difficult than it should have been.

We traveled with a motorcycle, and parked in front of the hotel. During the night someone tried to steal it, mainly damaging the blinkers, some chassis parts, mirrors and direction. So next time we are traveling to France, we will be paying for parking the motorcycle.
It's not the hotel's fault itself, it's located in a not that secure area.

We received a very friendly welcome from the receptionist and a clear explanation about where to find the secure parking, which is about a 3 minute walk from the hotel. It's close to a couple of nearby restaurants and bars and the view of the viaduct is pretty impressive. I didn't want breakfast, but the morning staff were flexible to let me buy just a coffee and take that back to my room, as I had to work. It looks as though the terrace could be nice, but I didn't use it.
I have to say that the hotel is feels a little more shabby than the photos indicate. The reception area feels a bit like a hostel - strange built in old-looking furniture and the carpet was quite worn (although the stair ways and carpet there seemed in good repair). The front the door was locked despite it being early evening and the receptionist being there. The parking building is close by and seems secure but feels rather creepy and to be honest, I'm glad I wasn't on my own! The room was sweet, with nice decor and being an old building, I was expecting it to be small - but once again, some of the furniture was scuffed and looked like it could do with a refresh.

Staff are very helpful, we were asked several times if we had any problems with parking and informed us we couldn't park on street on Tuesday as there is the local market. Location is great near to centre and they have a beautiful garden where you can have your breakfast.
Rooms are clean and functional with a mini bar., rooms are on the small size but that didn't bother us.
We were on the second floor without an elevator, stairs are quite steep so that is to bear in mind if anybody has knee problems!

The pedestrian area is being renovated, but is historic and is at the very beginning of the entrance to the old town at evening time our particular street is not that lively there are a couple of bistros scattered. My guess is once the pedestrian area is completely planted up and renovated. It’ll be very lively and charming. However, the market is three times a week and it is very lively with stalls, of fruit, pastries, bread, fish meats, etc. it’s quite charming. You do have to walk to actually get into the old town, but I like that so that late at night you weren’t hearing the noise of the tourists or the restaurants. We had a car so I like that. We didn’t have to park way far away to get in and out of Montpelier as we went to visit other towns. So for us being right outside the historic center really worked. The hotel if you book ahead has really reasonable priced parking and that makes a big difference. Their breakfast is good pretty standard to what we usually get and you have to book ahead because they don’t do big wasteful buffets but rather have you order what you want ahead which I think is fantastic. There is a very sweet garden outside the little café area in the hotel. This hotel is priced very very well and though the rooms are small, it is a tremendous value. The staff is warm and friendly and eager to accommodate .
My one tiny pet peeve was the hairdryer wasn’t very powerful. It’s a tiny thing in the big picture.
There is no elevator which they are very clear about but the hotel is only three stories so it’s not that big of a deal

They have a large terrace in the back which is advertised as open 7am-11pm, however when we asked if we could eat our own food, the staff said it wasn’t allowed. I understand that they serve breakfast and light dinner, but I do not agree with this rule that the terrace is only for eating food bought from the hotel. It doesn’t make sense and it seems unfair.

We were only here for one night, but we got to see a lot of downtown Montpellier, as they held our bags and we were allowed to get our car later in the day. Room turned out to be much nicer than what you might expect after looking at the entrance. It has a historical vibe inside the hotel.
Hotel is close to the downtown attractions like the cathedral and the botanical garden. There is also an aqueduct that goes down the length of the street that the hotel is on.
Breakfast was rather meager, and the parking garage was a couple of blocks away and strange to get in and out of, as well as a tight exit turn. It was still possible to load and unload in front of the hotel though.

I stayed here for 6 nights. I found the staff very friendly and helpful. There was always someone at the front desk during the day who was willing to answer my questions. They also provided suggestions about where to eat and directions to places. The staff really made a positive difference. I also enjoyed le petit dejeuner in the dining room every morning, which was worth the 12 euros. I also got to talk to the other guests during breakfast.
