Centrally located, it was ideal to visit all the various sights of the city by walking, tram or bus. Staff, esp Christophe, were all very helpful and restaurants nearby gave ample choices for a variety of food.
The hotel is almost finished with renovations and upgrades so there was some dust and unfinished trims. Being an historic building, I could hear the room next door coughing one night. The breakfast choices were almost too numerous for the space especially on the weekend when the hotel was fully booked.

The coffee machine in the room was malfunctioning. They replaced the capsules with eco-friendly ones, but they don't fit in the machine! Moreover, the soundproofing is very poor; I could hear all the noises from the neighboring room. My window faced the street, but I couldn't open it because there's an extremely noisy pub right below that stays open until 2 a.m. The spa is closed until "end of 2024"

Biggest downside for us: handle to open the windows was only available upon request at the counter. Staff was forthcoming and tried finding an alternative room for us - unfortunately there was no suitable alternative available.

The room was just perfect: cozy with a very comfortable bed and modern bathroom.

The historical building has been restored in a fashionable way respecting the original features (amazing parquet floor everywhere).

Lovely old building in a great location right next to the cathedral and easy walking distance to the main square and city attractions. My room was quiet and spacious with a clean modern bathroom and it overlooked a central courtyard garden.
It was very helpful that the hotel sent walking directions from the train station to the hotel.
The hotel was let down by a few small matters of housekeeping. The valance on the bed didn't fit the bed and it draped all over the floor and looked very messy, the old wooden floor was a bit dirty and the cleaning staff broke the handle off one of the coffee cups but still left it in the room to be used.

We enjoyed our stay at Hôtel Littéraire Stendhal et Spa. The location is great for exploring Nancy, and the rooms are a good size, comfortable, and nicely kept. Breakfast was excellent, with the added surprise of non-dairy croissants and other non-dairy options prepared specially for my wife—much appreciated. The hotel also offers bike parking, which was very convenient for us. Overall, a pleasant stay in a convenient and welcoming hotel. Tip - Dinner at nearby Le Mont Liban is outstanding.

Signed up for an hour in the spa mainly for the hot tub. It was lukewarm at best. The sauna and steam room were fine, but we wanted to relax in the hot tub. We had an appointment since the day before, so they could have heated it up. Never got close to a usual hot tub temp.
