Perfect location, across the street to The Promanade des Anglais in Nice, offering quick access (2 minutes) to the Mediterranean and the 7-km sea walk. Breakfast food options were a little limited (cereals, croissants, yougart, eggs, bacon & sausage) but very fresh and really all you need. Three coffee machines offering a lot of coffee choices. Nice bar & restaurant on property. Staff was VERY friendly and helpful with recommendations and directions.
As an English speaking individual, it would have been nice to have more English speaking TV channels (only CNN International).

1. Though I had paid the room-rent in advance, during check-in, staff at the reception demanded a deposit of €150 to be paid right there in cash / Bank transfer ( NOT through pre-authorization hold on credit card ) which would be refunded after 3 days after check-out. Did not come across such bizarre demands anytime during my extensive travels over decades.
2. Breakfast was below average, not worth the money.
3. Overall, the stay was not worth the money or memorable and unlikely to return to this hotel.

By far the best reason to stay this hotel is its ideal location right across the street from the Mediterranean, but also close enough to walk to Old Town and the casinos. What a joy to wake up to that amazing view from my balcony every morning!
Though the hotel rooms are in pretty good shape with extremely comfortable beds, there is some wear and tear around the cheap furniture with peeling surfaces, and there were multiple stains on my carpet. Owner Vacances Bleus REALLY needs to work on the public areas which are so incredibly dated and drab. The front door was so beaten up and was not even painted properly. Maid service was very spotty and I don’t even think I had any of the first two days I was there. I also noticed some mold on the shower.

The location is absolutely perfect; right on the Promenade des Anglais with gorgeous sea views and just a short walk to Old Town, the beach, and great restaurants. The room was clean and spacious. Sofia at the front desk was incredibly helpful and kind; one of those people who just makes your day easier. Honestly, she deserves a raise ??Even the room service staff were so friendly and sweet... it’s the little things that make a stay feel personal. I’d come back for the location and the people alone. It’s a solid choice if you want comfort, convenience, and a team that genuinely cares.
The hotel could use a bit of a refresh; some of the interiors feel dated, and the AC wasn’t the strongest. But nothing that ruined the stay.

Unfortunately, the property did not match the photos provided online. It was significantly more dated than advertised. The carpets were heavily stained and emitted an unpleasant odor. Our “king” bed had a single-size duvet inside a king-size duvet cover, which made it uncomfortable. Additionally, the bathrobes provided were visibly worn, discolored, and stained — far below expected standards for a hotel in this price range.

The front doors were not very welcoming and were old and need to be replaced in order to compete with other hotels in vicinity . There was mold around the corners of the shower room. Room carpet was less than average.
Elevator was very tight but I understand it is the same in so many hotels in France. Also maybe the hotel should invest in a shuttle service to make it more easy on their guests since the airport is not far. We love nice and we love France and I recommend them for everyone. Kudos again to the staff.

The hotel was much dirtier than shown in the photos. The carpet in the hallway had terrible stains. We booked one of the best rooms with a balcony, but the table on it was covered in glass stains, and the balcony decorations were littered with cigarette butts. It was obvious that the area hadn't been cleaned in ages.
Breakfast was quite miserable, and it got worse each day. Nothing was replenished, the selection kept shrinking, and the choices were very limited. There were pans to make your own pancakes, cook your own eggs, and even an egg boiler. So, if you wanted anything, you had to prepare it yourself—which is absurd considering the price we paid. There was also a limited choice of premade food, but it was always cold. Many of the breakfast items were not fresh. On the second day, the apple juice had gone bad, though it was replaced after I pointed it out to the staff.
We happened to meet the manager during one of the breakfasts, but when I raised these concerns, he didn’t apologize. Instead, he lectured me, saying that this is a 3-star hotel and everything was as it should be, adding that other hotels would charge even more for such service.
Also, I would probably not recommend booking any room in this area with a sea view, as the nearby beach bar hosted parties every day of the week except Monday. And I mean loud parties with booming music until very late at night. That made it nearly impossible to sleep peacefully.
Additionally, there are plenty of decent restaurants nearby, while the hotel restaurant offers just some salads as the kitchen is nonexistent in this place. So, keep in mind You won't be able to dine there.
All in all, I would not recommend this hotel, there are many nicer places to stay in Nice for the same amount of money.

The location in front of the beach and super conveniently located for restaurants, bars, touristic outings and shopping were perfect for our first time to Nice. The lady that worked in the bar every day/all day that we were there was super friendly but probably could have used some help, since she was waiting tables and tending the bar. Somehow she stayed super pleasant throughout.
The hotel needs a bit of a refresh. The photos online made it look in better condition than it was, not that it was a bad stay, but arrived with higher expectations. We also chose not to take the daily breakfast in the hotel since they were charging 19 euros per person and we typically are happy with a coffee and croissant in the morning.

If you book any other room than an ocean front room the view you get will be the back go the neighboring building, they could do a better job describing this in their listing.

We loved the view from our room. And we were very comfortable with our room. Facilities were comfortable.
The carpets were visibly dirty throughout the hotel. Hallway leading to our room was visibly stained. Our carpet in room was stained, but a little less than hallway.

Le Royal is perfectly located on the Promenade de Anglais! We were within walking distance of so much of old Nice. Our room was comfortable and offered a fabulous view of the sea and promenade. The well-trained and friendly staff at Le Royal was superb, especially Jessica at reception and Mathilde in the bar. The general manager is very dedicated to running a great hotel. We enjoyed excellent food in the bar area. The breakfast buffet offered lots of food choices. If we are fortunate enough to return to Nice, we would not hesitate to stay at Le Royal again!

Location, Location, Location!! We didn’t eat at the Hotel and their Bar was closed for the off-season. The front desk staff and housekeeping staff were very nice, very professional and very helpful
The carpet was filthy. The bathroom floors had ground-in dirt. Mold was in the corners near the tub. We were told that the Hotel is in the process of replacing the carpet. The outside needs to be painted.

OMG! If you had read the comments I made to the hotel you would know that this was a 50th anniversary visit to Nice and also my husband's birthday. Because management took my requests to heart (that's a joke!) what we got was a tiny room on the first floor THAT DID NOT EVEN HAVE A CLOSET OR A DRESSER and THE WINDOW LOOKED OUT OVER A TIN UTILITY SHED! Despite being on the Riviera the breakfasts were lackluster and lacking in variety. Very simple breads, very little fresh fruit, pre-cooked eggs, etc. On our first morning we overheard two couples saying what we were thinking: that the rooms did not look like what we had seen on the Internet. I asked to speak to the manager for three days in a row and left my cell phone number but he never had the courtesy to call and discuss the matter. He told another couple that if they were unhappy with their room they could just move to another hotel!

Amazing location right on the Coast only a few blocks from old town. Great breakfast and very friendly staff. We splurged for a balcony room overlooking the Sea and it was beautiful with a gorgeous view!
