The hotel was above restaurants, it was very noisy in the evening and into the early hours. There were 4 flights of very steep circular stairs, then when you got to the hotel there was another set of stairs to get to the rooms. The room was very small, as was the bathroom. The shower cubicle was also very small.

This is a two star hotel and for that I did not expect too much! The location is fantastic!! We walked everywhere we went (including to the train station to take the train over to Monaco). We had a large balcony with beautiful views. Needed a wine opener and wine glasses but the lobby gave it to us free of charge! The room was cleaned everyday as well as the towels changed and bed made. For the price this is a spectacular place to stay.

The hotel location is just fabulous only a 5 minute walk to beach very near all the action. I loved having a balcony to have breakfast on or watch the sun set over the city. It was comfortable and very clean and the staff were great and very helpful.

overall the space was in a good location and easy to come home to from visiting places. Bathroom shower was definitely good and the staff was super nice. They told me conveniently that when checking in after 8pm, they will give us code to pick up room key. So we wouldn't be left outside but you must let them know earlier than 24 hours. The lift was working and I was happy Solara had one since the rooms are 4th or 5th floor. I forgot, so many floors.
The closet was too small and more chairs would help to put my luggage. The open balcony can't fit a table for us to have coffee outside which is not in Solara's control.

Clean and we've seen them very good cleaning. My friend used to 5 star hotels said to me that he really was happy with how clean it was! The staff was very kind and helpfull. The central location is good, restaurants, pubs, clubs, old town, culture all very near or easy to get by walking, bus, tram, taxi.
Sadly we were not informed about WIFI problem (not in the room) and there was maintanance at the elevator. One thing important for us was WIFI and with all of our group with walking/health/elderly problem the stairs were exhousting, This was a major thing for us otherwise the stay and our revieuw would be much higher, I know it was the circumstances, but made it hard.

Great hotel on amazing location in the center of Nice! The staff is vert polite, they gave us information about Nice and what to see. Room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. If you arrive late the key for your room is waiting for you on the front desk, which is convenient.
The only downside - the free wifi is available only in the hotel lobby. Also the hotel is on the 4th floor of an old building which has an elevator, but it only fits one person and we couldn't use it.

The hotel starts on the fourth floor of an apartment building in a lovely pedestrian area close to the Promenade des Anglais and the beach. It doesnβt seem like much from the outside, but once you get to the lobby, itβs luxurious! My room was decorated nicely and even though the window didnβt face the beach, I still had a nice view of colorful buildings with a glimpse of the mountains in the distance. The man working the front desk was very friendly and showed me lots of great places to visit on a map. I would definitely stay here again!

Remark: Since it is in an old building (Penthouse turned into an Hotel?) the elevator is small, but it works well. There are also stairs.

Location was super, next to the beach and 15min by foot to main train station and 10min to train which is going to airport.
The room was very small, with tiny place for clothes and bed with max 140cm width and max 180 length, which was not so comfortable but we slept well.
During all stay we did not have at all wi-fi and it was told to us that in 2 weeks they will fix it, which we found as a main minus during our stay.
The apartment was cleaning on daily basis, hot water all the time, but shower gel was provided in the small bags, due to which we bought gel in nearest market.

The hotel is in a great location- right in the action! You can walk everywhere from this hotel. The property is really well kept, decorated nicely, and our unit for 4 was very comfortable! The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful.
My only complaint was the small elevator (one person only) or 6 flights of stairsβ¦.
And the shower is small as well. Would definitely stay here again!

The one thing I really missed was quality coffee haha.

Lovely, clean boutique hotel in a great central location within close walking distance of the beach, restaurants, shops and tram stops. My room didn't have a terrace, but I loved having a table & chair in the room to sit and have a coffee/breakfast. My third trip to Nice, but definitely the best place I've stayed in and would definitely return.
I loved everything about my stay - just a minor point that the wi-fi was a little intermittent - but it didn't impact the enjoyment of my stay at Hotel Solara.

The bed was so uncomfortable. We had two twin beds that had large dips in the middle of an already thin mattress. Its not acceptable. The bathroom was small, which was not unexpected. But the shower barely fit one person. You coundnt shave your legs, b/c you couldnt bend down. If my husband were with us, I don't think his height would have fit in the shower.

The hotel is only a 5 minute walk from Blue Beach and Promenade des Anglais, and about a 15 minute walk to the Old Town, a 15 minute walk to the train, and a 7 minute walk to the tram. There are tons of restaurants right on the same street as the hotel, as well as cafes and ice cream shops.
Thereβs shopping right in the area also.
The staff is wonderful, including Galina, her sister, and Jean Louie. Theyβre all very helpful and nice. The room was modern, and clean, with good air conditioning, a small balcony ( I understand that there are different sizes), a small fridge, and my bed was very comfortable.
A very nice continental breakfast is available for a small fee.
I would definitely stay here again! Itβs also a very safe area.

Everything is very small: the shower, the elevator to get up to the hotel (plus still a flight of very steep stairs to your room), the bed, and more. The bed was very hard and you only get 2 pillows which are extremely flat. I woke up with a stiff neck on our last day. There are also no real amenities. It said breakfast was included but no mention of it when we checked in and there was nothing out anywhere in the morning. The shower gel is in a paper sample packet. And only instant coffee packs with a kettle but no water. And lastly, they still use actual room keys, not cards which got to be very annoying because you have to lock from inside too.

Secure and safe, we really appreciated the security measures even though Nice is pretty safe.
Immaculate! It was great to return to our rooms on a hot day to find them spotless and freshened up.
We had no complaints. Perhaps better shampoo/bodywash? It was a great value for our visit here.

The location, one block from the beach, in the middle of everything, is truly exceptional. My hotel window looked out until the beautiful Niçois architecture, and people strolling the pedestrian area. The hotel actually begins on the 4th floor of the building, which I've never experienced before. You do have to be ok with the extremely narrow elevator to the 4th floor, but as long as you are ok with that, you almost feel like a local in a little hideaway. The rooms have a simple elegance are well air conditioned. Hotel Solara is really a gem and I had a wonderful time exploring beaches and city. The hotel staff were extremely polite, friendly, and attentive.
I found the pillows on the bed to be very firm--too firm! Also, the toilet ran a bit--the flush mechanism just needs to be better attached.

The hotel is in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the dining scene . Very lively street . Hotel is located on the 4th floor of the building , you have to enter through the tiny door between the restaurants . Then go up in the small but efficient elevator . You feel like you have an apartment in Nice . The beach and the promenade is two blocks away . Perfect location .

JonLuie was the PERFECT Host, who greeted me @ 8:15 a.m., stored my bags, served me coffee, and gave me tips on how to spend the morning on the Hop-On/Off Bus, until 12:30 p.m., when my room was ready! - Monday & Tuesday, Barbara was also a great hostess.... Loved the location! On a pedestrian cobblestone street, with tons of restaurants & shops at your doorstep!!

Location with a nice, spacious balcony to view the surroundings. It was very clean and cute. They provided me with utensils and glasses when i wanted to eat on the balcony.
The noise from adjacent rooms. I get waken up too early from people talking, laughing, and even arguing each morning when I wanted to sleep over.

my sister and I were surprised that our Taxi was away from the hotel because they couldnβt get close and I am handicapped so it was a horrible problem going 5060 yards to the hotel trying to drag bags and a cane. I wish we had known this because itβs nice as everything else was we would not have stayed there. It was very inconvenient for someone who is handicapped.
