Villa Bougainville is a boutique hotel renovated in April 2015 and located in the heart of Nice, in the Musician's district. The property was originally constructed in 1928 and provides a warm cozy environment. All rooms at the Villa Bougainville are equipped with a cable TV and a telephone.

Rooms are small, dark and dated, bathroom is extremely small, if you are larger person, you wouldnβt be able to move around. Forget about any fresh air. Cannot open the window without noise from outside. Noise is coming from the street and next door rooms ( even at night). Beds arenβt super comfy, mattress is dated as well. Too expensive for 4 star hotel

Great location, room was comfortable, breakfast was great and the staff were very pleasant. They received us with a drink and let us check in early as the room was ready. Hot drinks and water were available 24/7 from reception and there were always little snacky bits with the drinks.
The room was on the smaller side and the shower was a bit too small; walls seemed to be a bit thin as you could hear late arrivals to the other rooms.

The hotel itself is situated in a great location, and in walking distance of shops,bars, restaurants,trams,trains and the beach.

Very stylish, cosy hotel. The rooms was small and the bathroom even smaller, but everything was functional. Water fountain as well as free coffee and tea available for guests in the lobby, where there is also more room and better lightning than in the rooms. If you don't plan to spend a lot of time in the room, it's a good choice.
The location close to the train station is both an advantage and disadvantage, as it can get noisy very early in the morning.

Noise isolation is lacking and can become a nuisance if you are unlucky with the neighbours. Although the hotel staff dealt with our complaint quickly and efficiently.
It felt that our room could do with a small sofa or armchair as there was quite a lot of space available for a standard double room.

If youβre looking for a real 4 star hotel experience then this is definitely not the place to go. The hallways and reception had a strange odor, dirty carpets, loud neighbors/thin walls. Tiny room and bathroom. Not the nicest neighborhood.
The hotel receptionist told us we wouldnβt be getting our room cleaned within 4 days of our stay due to βecological actionβ however they couldβve at least made the beds, changed toilet papers etcβ¦. What made me most uncomfortable is that they had a card that you had to put on the outside of the hotel room door if you agreed for the room not to get cleaned, and someone has put this card for us, without our consent. Very strange experience.

They offer complimentary cappuccino machine and water which is amazing. Location is close to the train station. Overall clean property and I would recommend.
The only downside is that the hotel is not very soundproof. My friend and I got told to be quiet one night when we were only in our room talking to each other (no tv no music).. you can hear a lot of what goes on in neighbouring rooms.

What a great little hotel. Had everything that we needed for our stay. Room was comfortable and clean, shower/toilet was well presented, clean and modern. We slept well. Balcony door could be left open at night for fresh air and the night time city noises of life. Tea/Coffee making facilities along with TV (French only channels) and Fridge. Great location for all transport hubs. Short walk to the sea front. 25/35 minute walk from hotel to Nice Old Town. Would definitely recommend if your main purpose is to travel to other parts via mainline trains. Staff were very friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. Free tea and coffee making facilities in the a dining area near the reception which, after a long day walking was nice to come back to. Overall very good/excellent.
Only one thing we found disappointing, and we felt needed to be pointed out to the reception on leaving, was that the shower did run very hot and then cold while showering. It was occasionally dangerously hot.
Would be worried if a young child was to use un supervised .
Was told that this would be checked out and fixed.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Shout out to the asian young lady (didn't catch her name) that was super kind, speaks English fluently and very patient with me-trying-to-practice-my french. Also to the man that on the night shift during our whole week stay. Both of them took the extra miles of the word "service". ??
The lobby is also a PLUS. Comfy chair and desk for work or just sit around and wait. The coffee machine that even though it's free but provides quality.
The glass bottle and the water dispenser are also a life saver. It reduces plastic use and also help us fill our water bottle for our daily outings. It's small things but essential!
The wash basin is too small. The water splashed out. There's also not enough space to keep our toiletries in the bathroom.
Not enough plugs especially on the bed side.

Overall everything was great very friendly staff, tasty breakfast with plenty of options, and I really appreciated the free coffee and water available anytime. The beds were also very comfortable.

It was an affordable hotel for one night. It was also right across from a parking garage $ near the train station. Otherwise, I likely would not choose to stay there again.
The room was incredibly small. I did look at images, but this was way smaller than I would have expected. I could barely get my luggage into the room. The bathroom was also very small and the door was off the tracks so I couldn't close the shower. There was also very little space to put toiletries and the sink was super compact so water splashed everywhere when I attempted to wash my face.

As the hotel very close to "Gare De Nicel Ville", the train station, you can easily travel to Cannes, Monaco, Antibes for your daily trips.
Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits both in the room and lobby.

The toilet was too too too small. I'm a small size person but could fit in it barely.
There was only 1 mirror and it was located in the batroom. No more mirror in the room; no tall dressing mirror, no make-up mirror. We were 2 girls in the room thus it took time to get ready :(

Great location (5 min walk from the train station, which came in handy for day trips). Staff were very helpful and there were lots of free amenities (free coffee, welcome drink, they even left a chocolate with a note in my room since I was staying during Christmas)
The walls at this hotel were definitely the thinnest that I have ever experienced in my life. I could hear every conversation that people next to my room were having. To make matters worse, there was a crying baby on my floor which unfortunately kept me up at night for hours. The water pressure of shower also wasn't great. Overall, not sure if I would stay here again

Location is close by Nice train station, restaurants and even the beach by walk.

Breakfast was nice, the cookies and drinks available in the lobby were a wonderful extension of hospitality. The rooms were aesthetically nice and had all the necessary amenities. The staff was polite and helpful, especially in English.
The door to the bathroom was a little odd, and when it was opened I saw wrappers and other remnants from previous guests lying on the floor.
