Jardins Secrets - Nimes

This 18-century traveler's inn, now a boutique hotel, is in Nîmes, hidden in a secret flowered garden. The hotel has an outdoor pool surrounded by a Mediterranean-style garden with olive, orange and palm trees as well as a marble fountain. Every air-conditioned room at the Jardins Secrets features a bathtub surrounded by a silk curtain, and the authentic bedrooms with original décor have a beautiful view of either the garden, swimming pool, or the cloister.

A traditional cloister leads into the luxurious lounges, where guests can have a drink in the Napoleon III bar. During the winter guests can relax by the fireplace. At Source des Secrets Spa guests can indulge in beauty treatments.

There is a shop available selling local products. Jardins Secrets is a peaceful and charming hideaway in the heart of the Roman city, with its famous Les Arènes amphitheater and La Maison Carrée monument.

For quite an expensive restaurant and room service - you would expect a bit better quality of bred and coffee. A bigger menu would be great as well - like this you don’t ever need to leave the hotel at all!

Very peaceful and convenient location - easy walk to the town centre. The hotel is beautiful; tranquil, serene and set around shaded courtyards with gorgeous planting and the sound of trickling water. Our room was very spacious and luxurious and the staff were incredibly helpful and attentive. Breakfasts were idyllic. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in Nimes and would love to return one day.

It really was close to perfection, but we might have preferred an extra lamp or two in our bedroom if we were being very picky.

The hotel is very beautiful, the small pool has great exposure to the sun and all outdoor areas are perfectly tranquil. We were there with our dog who was able to chill with us around the pool. You’re within the city but feel completely isolated, and there is possibility to eat at the hotel too.

Everything, it is an exceptional place, hidden paradise. Looks like a time travel into the glorious and romantic France. The entire place combine historical architecture, bohemian garden and the charm of the south. The service was without any flaw, you feel like you are at home. I can mention that my wife forgot a piece of close when we left and they kindly send it to us by mail. I will make this trip an annual venue Thanks Victoria and the team ++

Friendly staff. Welcoming. We arrived early so while room (upgraded) was being prepared she added a log to the fire. Hotel is beautiful with something new to see in every area and on every wall. Bit cold but wonderful gardens and terrace. Room was large with a very comfortable bed. Simple nice breakfast. 5 minute walk to train station and 10 to old town area. We would come back if we return to Nimes and recommend it to others.

Nothing except room were a bit dark however it added to the ambience. No dislikes at all.

It really was a calm oasis in the middle of the city. It was a little slice of the decadent past. A beautiful shady mature garden. Exceptional service. Staff were so helpful and polite. The breakfast was sumptuous; fresh fruits, breads and pastries with delicious home-made preserves served so beautifully. The house is full of lovely antiques and bedroom was charming with the most comfortable bed and pillows.

My partner felt that it could have done with a proper shower but for a short stay I felt the bath was more than adequate with its hand held shower.

Hard to find, unwelcoming staff seemed slightly surprised to see us and disinterested. No parking so the car is taken away and there is a charge, which seems unreasonable when considering the hotel's price. Asked for the car by a specific time, of course, did not arrive and staff seemed surprised by our request. Think they have put so much effort into making hotel into something out of a Dickens novel that they have forgotten the basics of how to welcome guests.

The place is absolutely beautiful and rich with history. The staff is great, they are interested in their guests and helped us make our stay as good as possible. The spa treatments were excellent, we will definitely be returning to Jardins Secrets next time we're in Nimes!

Our only regret during our stay in Nimes was not spending more time at the hotel and enjoying the beautiful facilities even more. If I have to make a constructive comment, it would be on the size of the hot water tank - there could have been some more hot water / faster reheating.

This is a lovely boutique hotel, beautifully furnished. The staff were exceptional and there is a real family atmosphere. Lovely old fashioned china was used for coffee and drinks

The food was pretty average. Although the place is beautifully furnished it is dark and hard to see, even in your bedroom. Its expensive. Very. It was winter and we were the only guests staying so the main living rooms were unlit and cold.

It’s a unique and magnificent hotel. The gardens are extravagant and so beautiful. The staff is very supportive, friendly, and perfectly reading each wish from your eyes. Thank you so much.

Of course it is overpriced. We would have appreciated a breakfast included. It’s overstaying the guests gratitude to charge each piece of breakfast (eggs, ham, cheese) extra, given a basic price of euro 28 per person and breakfast. We are not particular and happy to pay a fair price for such an extraordinary hotel, but too much is too much.

A truly exceptional hotel. Needless to say that the decor is one of a kind. Hard to believe when actually being there that this is a hotel and not a museum. But besides the splendor of the place, the staff was exceptionally helpful and professional. Everything about this accommodation was 'exceptional'. The most beautiful Property and the rooms simply gorgeous and luxurious. Beautiful, clean, very comfortable beds with the best linens and towels. The staff all were so kind, welcoming, friendly and so helpful with making dinner suggestions and reservations for us. The location was wonderful - so close to the 'Central Ville'. I truly felt like 'Royalty' staying here!!

This place is beautiful, welcoming, convenient - very special: please don't tell anyone! We loved our two night stay: arriving by train from Carcassonne, an easy walk from the station. Convenient for all the cultural, historical and tourist aspects of central Nimes; but ... ... it was simply so delightful to have a slow late breakfast, enjoy the cool of the garden, sit listening to the birds; or ending the day with a well-chosen 'glass' in front of the log fire. Exceptional establishment with beautiful and elegantly appointed rooms each one decorated with style and charm. The interior and exterior are stunning, photos cannot do it justice as you have to be there to be soaked in the atmosphere of pure indulgence and beauty.

Quite expensive everything had a charge for example breakfast is 28 Euro per person but if added a boiled egg it is 10 Euro per boiled egg, ham etc, parking 35 Euro per night and pet 25 Euro per night, you will be served in the garden but counted as room service for instead of 18 Euro for cheese platter served just steps from breakfast area becomes 30 Euro. So you will get excellent service but there is a cost for every request. It’s a business after all.

The hotel was a perfect get away. The location was great, walking distance to the city center, the hotel had parking which was great since we travelled by car. The hotel had an amazing ambience, beautiful indoor and outdoor areas. Felt like we travelled back in time. The staff was exceptional. Amina and Victoria were great help, very hospitable and always greeted us with a smile. The owner was on the location as well, he gave us tips about what else to see in Provence, very hospitable and warm.

The breakfast was quite limited, it would have been nice to have a wider range. All was delicious, we just missed more options.

It was exceedingly beautiful and well located. The staff was fantastic!

I used the spa for an hour and realized upon check out that they charged me 100$ for this! No one told me that there was a charge before I signed up. I didn't have a treatment. Just used the sauna and pool.
