L'Hotel - Paris

Located in the historical district of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, this 5-star hotel features a hammam and an indoor swimming pool. Very atmospheric hotel, as a fan of history I loved the style, which made us feel like stepping back in the past. We had a large comfortable room, with great big bed, bathtub and large walk in shower. Cleanliness & facilities were top. Nice quiet location. Very nice Wildes bar, we enjoyed live jazz and the cocktail on Thursday evening.

Most disappointing were the breakfast - no hot food options in the buffet at all, also very small selection of savoury food at all. No vegetables. If you like something a bit stronger than cereal & pastry in the morning, you will be disappointed. No TV in the room. We asked in the reception and they promised to deliver TV for us, but this did not happen during our stay.

The history.

my profound dissatisfaction with my recent stay at L'Hotel. Given the nightly rate of €800 plus tax, I had high expectations, but my experience fell significantly short of what one would anticipate from an establishment of their purported caliber. Firstly, despite my request for a quiet room, I was placed on the 5th floor where the noise from slamming doors and the music emanating from the bar made it difficult to rest. The door lock in my room is broken. Secondly, the electricity in my room went off, which was both inconvenient and concerning. Additionally, the lift was out of service on my last evening. With my check-out scheduled for the following morning, I am at a loss as to how my luggage will be managed. To compound these issues, I found the staff to be poorly trained and unable to provide any helpful information or solutions. Given the high regard I had for your hotel and its history, this was extremely disappointing. Overall, my experience was far below acceptable standards, and I feel it did not justify the premium rate. Based on this stay, I do not intend to return to L'Hotel and will not recommend it to others.

This hotel was lovely! So charming and in a fabulous location, only steps away from great cafes, bars and restaurants. The staff were so helpful and friendly. We totally loved our room with a really comfortable bed, walk in robe, and large windows, so lots of natural light. The room service breakfast was one of the best we have ever had! We would definitely stay here again next time we are in Paris!

The only downside was that they were upgrading the air conditioning so it wasn't working, however they kindly got us a fan for the room which was great!

It's a complete experience from the moment you walk in off the street. You feel like you've entered a beautiful, comforting environment where people are happy you've walked in the door. That attention to detail and pride in understanding the art of looking after others makes you feel cocooned in a magical place. It's a calm, friendly atmosphere whether they get you that taxi in the rain without any fuss or help you with a special request. The dining room is lovely, and breakfast is so relaxing you don't want to leave as it is served attentively but with ease, so it is soothing and delicious. The croissants are high quality, and you don't get that standard jam. The avocado toast is perfect because it's made with an extra effort - even the soft-boiled as they present them with little grilled pieces of small baguette (ficelle) that are golden brown and with tons of butter so that you can dip them in your eggs. That kind of attention to detail makes it delightful, either enjoying breakfast in my hotel room or downstairs. But it's also the decor. There's a wide range of room sizes, but even the smallest is cozy and elegant. The rooms are thoughtfully designed around 19th-century decor themes, making each unique. It's edited to be sumptuous and harmonious, down to the bathroom trash. So, it creates an environment (not a hotel room) that is sensual and takes you back into another era. But the team takes it to a higher level. The man at the desk (unfortunately, I regret I forgot his name, but he is a manager) said to me, "This is your home." That touched my heart, and that's how you feel about this hotel with a fantastic team of people who understand hospitality, so I want to say a big thank you to Luis, Antonia Cyrille, Elies, Shoban, Rachelle, and both managers who make this hotel a world of its own.

I love the bar decor, and I've been a jazz fan since I was young. They have a great jazz band on Thursday nights. It's not a playing-it-safe, tight jazz band going through the set, but they are hip and cool, playing around and improvising, and you can see they're having fun, so it makes it fun for all. They use the same dining room and have a very cozy, elegant bar area, but the attitude in the bar is different as they could be more welcoming. It is just weird as I've never been to an unfriendly bar, but they seem to be racing around when it's not that big of a place. Also, the late-night staff could be more like the morning, afternoon, and evening staff, especially when there is less to do.

Stunning hotel, beautifully decorated, luxurious decor and fixtures. Brilliant staff, all were very happy to help. Great location, luxurious bed linen and bathroom towels. The bed was super comfy, Spotlessly clean throughout the entire hotel. We found taxi services around Paris reasonable using the Uber app.

No lunch or evening restaurant, not too horrendous as there are loads within a 5 mins walk, would not be great though if weather was wet. Breakfast is available but hideously expensive in the hotel compared to what is available locally. Hotel was so hot and the air conditioning in the room didn't respond to being turned down. Rooms quite small. Room mini bar is so overpriced we didn't use it. Main hotel bar very expensive, again we didn't use it because of this but went out for drinks. We personally didn't like the awkward/dangerous step over into the bath to take a shower and then the shower wasn't great, plenty of water but most of it misses you. Bathrooms could do with updating because stepping out of that bath having showered and have wet feet is so dangerous.

A true bohemian boutique hotel centrally located on the Left Bank. Nothing fake here, it's the real deal. Sure, some of the rooms are small & no TV or phone but I kind of liked that. Not silent but quiet enough for a good nights sleep. I cannot fault the staff: Courteous & helpful yet discrete. Full of history & character. Not cheap but where in central Paris is? The pool & hammam spar are a real treat after a long day exploring the city. Sure I'll consider staying here again should I be heading to Paris in the future.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. We had one very nice breakfast and the coffee and food were excellent. The bar staff in the evenings were very nice and good.

We were on the front street side of the hotel, and on our first night there was a house party or bar party with clubbing music that went on until 4am and kept us awake all night until then. On the second night, it was a quiet night until 5am when the street cleaners and delivery trucks started pulling up outside our room. So sadly our weekend was not as we hoped as we were exhausted from little sleep! The front desk receptionist was quite rude and not sympathetic saying 'Well this is what you'd expect if you book a weekend in Paris'!!!! I've been in Paris many times in my life and have not experienced this level of noise!!!

The apartment is very special. We love the room, balcony and the space. The private pool area is a bonus. Breakfast was delicious. The staff are courteous and helpful. The rooms are quiet and the location is amazing once you invest some time in this part of Paris.

Desk or dressing table needed in the room. The central areas air conditioning didn’t seem to work. All items were discussed and we are sure will be rectified by the team.

Hotel is old, and therefore some small kinks. The pipes in the bathroom squeal and once I got it figured out to release the pressure in the pipes to make it stop... however it would continue to happen throughout the night. Had the engineer look at it but all they did was the same. It was annoying to hear the squeal.

Old styled room with very old cartpet, curtain and etc. The curtain cannot be closed properly so light will wake you up in early morning. The room smells moldy and dusty. very bad for people like me with allergies. I hardly slept with all the smell lingering in the room, and felt itching on my arms and legs after getting out of the bed. I was fine in the previous two nights in another much cheaper hotel in Paris. All toiletories including shampoo and shower gel and cream are strongly perfumed with lots of allergens.

Beautiful vintage hotel with so much incredible history, Oscar Wilde last days. Loved the bar and sitting area. The pool and spa area although old in a beautiful way were just what we needed at the end of a long day walking the city, located in a great area near D’Orsay and the Latin Quarter, arts district

The location was perfect for getting around the city. We were able to walk everywhere. The lobby was beautiful and decorated for Christmas. The spa pool was so unique and peaceful.

I thought our room could have been a little more Parisian as the pictures showed. Perhaps we just got more of a boring one, but we still enjoyed our stay. The shower curtain wasn’t long enough and water kept dripping out onto the bathroom floor.

Great location. Amazing bar and breakfast area. Great concept of the reserved spa area. Very cool spa. Large stylish rooms.

Bathrooms are looking a little worn out. Maybe keep the amazing fixtures and redo the tile. Mattresses as well. New breakfast policy where even basic scrambled eggs are not included seems a little low budget.
