the room was nice. The breakfast was wonderful in both locations. The history of this hotel is amazing. It was founded in 1809. It is very charming and very will maintained in spite of its age. It is in a great location and close to a tram that allows you to move around the city center very easily.
One of the beds was much better than the other. I had the one that must have been older as I could feel hear the spring sqeek when I laid down. Our room was on the first floor just about the garage door/service entrance to the hotel. We were awakened at times by trucks delivering clean laundry and picking up dirty laundry. Our room is probably the only one affected by the garage door going up and down.

Our rooms were over the patio so when guests stayed after it was closed we didn’t sleep well. But I didn’t complain.
The rooms were clean and staff was very helpful. I advise asking about what your room looks like. We had 5 rooms. Some of our rooms had lovely cornishes, chandeliers and high ceilings. My husband and my room looked like a Ramada inn.haha

Breakfast choice amazing with option for full service breakfast or extensive continental buffet. Music every evening in the dining room/bar. Room size for one person was adequate full size bed.
Several comfy sitting lounges available. This hotel has a lovely historic atmosphere.
Pillows were hard. Also there are a few stairs from lobby to elevator and then elevator to rooms, so this is NOT a wheelchair accessible hotel and if you have large or heavy luggage you will have to navigate the stairs on your own (no help available). Not a problem for me as I only have carryon but just noting this for others.

The staff makes up for the short falling of the hotel. They are inviting, friendly and attentive.
So much potential. The building seems to be cared for by an absent T landlord.
Breakfast was very good.
The hotel is in need of updates. It’s charming yes but appears used. Something like a refresh. Understanding that it is old but appears somewhat neglected.
The bathroom tub/shower is extremely high, I’d imagine an older person might have difficulties with slipping and fall. The hand held shower head as a primary was foolish and prone to spraying water about the shower area. That’s fine but the half glass panel (that pivots) just doesn’t assist in keeping the floor dry. Those same older folks may have issues stepping down and out of the shower. There was no place to place your bathroom necessities but a lot of wall space.
WiFi and tv were poor at best. WiFi was intermittent and cable was equally poor.

The location was great, and the hotel itself had a lot of history — beautifully decorated with a charming atmosphere. The breakfast buffet was excellent, and the ladies at the reception were very kind and helpful.
Unfortunately, the male staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful. One of them saw me struggling with several bags and didn’t offer any assistance. The key or the lock to my room was broken, which was quite inconvenient. There was no heating in the room, even though it was late October, and the water flow in the bathroom was very weak. The bartenders in the Vault restaurant were rude and unprofessional — I had to ask several times to get the bill so I could leave, but they kept walking around looking annoyed. The waiters also seemed inexperienced and unsure of what they were doing.

Nice Hotel just far enough away from the City Centre but close enough with a few minutes walk (or get the bus/LUAS). Efficient check in. Decent size room on third floor with decent facilities (which for me includes the shower - no bath!). Lift to upper floors (thank goodness). Good supply of tea/coffee and 'bottled' water in the Room. Decent breakfast whichever option you opt for - good hot options cooked fresh down stairs or continental options upstairs (two restaurants you see!). Hotel located just off Parnell Square within a few mintues walk of the LUAS Green Line at Parnell or O'Connell Street Upper. Plenty of bus routes as well.
Nothing serious to spoil the trip. Would have liked more variety in the TV channels as no local (RTE) stations on tap.

This place was absolutely lovely! The location was great. The room was cozy and perfect for me. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I can’t recommend this place more.
It’s not something I didn’t like per se but just something to keep in mind if you book here. There’s plenty of tight stairs so just be prepared to lug your luggage around once you get off the elevator. Just pack light and you don’t have to worry about it!

We had a few outstanding hotel staff. Unfortunately we also had two staff members who were less than willing to assist. Specifically we had paid parking and couldn't find a spot. When I asked for help we were told there was nothing to be done (by someone at the bar and also at reception) so we spent our last night driving around in circles trying to find a parking spot. Luckily when I checked again someone informed us rhere was overflow parking and guided us so our night was saved. I do think the first two staff members we asked should have been kind enough to inform of that however.

Very easy to get to from both the airport and main train stations. The hotel is quaint, welcoming and offers great free breakfast! We didn’t eat dinner but I’m sure it’s lovely. Liked the hotel. It’s a bit old, but it was nice, warm, clean, comfortable and good location. The restaurant with the live music is one of the best parts about this hotel.
My mum requested a song to the singer about the greens of Ireland and the performer made an unpleasant joke to her. The hotel staff also laughed and we complained but we’re not sure there was a follow up. It was a shame because we liked the hotel, but this was an unpleasant experience.

The architecture and history was spectacular. The music, Irish dancers and dinner was excellent, breakfast was exceptionally good between the Continental, and the Irish breakfast. Lovely hotel and staff
Having a fitness center would’ve been excellent, but understand the history and fundamentals of the upkeep at the hotel at not be accommodating to include.

Breakfast was wonderful. The staff was the start of a great four days in Dublin. They were exceptionally knowledgeable about all aspects of the city. For my first time across the Atlantic the staff made me feel very comfortable and less anxious about what to do and where to go.

It is cozy and friendly. The restaurant and bar is very good, good food and god drinks. The service all around the hotel is excellent. Great location of the city walk. Very close to Temple Bar.
No A/C , but wouldn’t need in all seasons except summer. It bathroom is dated. Small TV that is super small.

The architecture and decor of the building is gorgeous. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast (both the buffet and hot Full Irish) was amazing and convenient. The location was nice; not too far from the shops and major downtown destinations.
The room was very warm, even though it was not hot outside, and not well ventilated. The windows could not open very much, so fresh air could not cycle in efficiently. A fan was provided, which made it somewhat tolerable. The bed was very stiff and the pillows were hard and very uncomfortable.

I wasn’t able to eat the breakfast because I left so early for my flight, so I wish I would have gotten the opportunity.
The hotel itself was very beautifully decorated; however, my room was pretty dirty. Smudges on the walls and baseboards, dusty, carpet was stained… it could definitely use some updating and a deep clean. Also, my key fell back behind the desk and so when moving it to get the key, there was a bunch of trash behind the desk and it just looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for years.

The breakfast in the morning was great! The food was delicious. The location of The Castle Hotel was excellent. We were able to get to everything very easily. We walked almost everywhere.
Our room was on outside view which was nice, but the street was busy all the time. The noise level outside with busses and people walking and talking at all hours of the night was difficult to get to sleep at times or woke me up.
