Poor service from staff in the restaurant mainly because they were undermanned for a function happening in terrace but also out of their depth and under supervised. Unfortunately, the overall experience ruined our night.
The management of the hotel (Conor and Patrick) dealt with the situation extremely well and ensured the service we had for the rest of our stay was excellent.
The hotel was extremely expensive and the room was not really up to the billed price, 5 star tag or Michelin key. Loud aircon, no fresh milk in fridge and non-functioning toiletries dispensers in bathroom.

Room decor is very bland, formulaic, attempted modern but misses the mark by a long way, poor lighting especially bathroom (black marble mixing gloss and matt??). Food needs to improve, desiccated scrambled egg… just not very tasty overall. It’s not a food hotel.

- The location was great.
- The hotel room was probably the loudest I've ever stayed in. The bedroom looked directly out onto the hotel's bin store. We kept being woken up by hundreds of glass bottles being poured into the bins. The hotel is also right beside Searson's (famous Irish pub), so you can hear every conversation customers are having outside in the smoking area.
- The hotel has zero facilities. No spa, no massages, no swimming pool, no sauna, no steam, nothing. It's really quite hard to believe this is actually a "5 star" hotel.
- I emailed the front desk numerous times over a 48 hour period asking for a late checkout. The hotel took over 24 hours to respond, and never actually gave me a proper answer. At check-in, I asked again. They said they would have to check, and I should come down again in a few hours. I told them, listen, I've been emailing you about this for 2 days, can you please just figure it out and email me? Thankfully they said they would. No email ever came. Eventually I had to call reception again on the morning of our check-out to request late checkout again. I found it ridiculous I'd need to try 3 different forms of communication over a >48 hour period just to request a late check-out.
- Uncomfortable pillows. There are only 2 options, and neither are any good. I had a terrible night's sleep (between the pillows the noise).

We stayed at The Dylan as a New Year’s Eve treat for my 12-year-old daughter and myself. The location is fantastic and was a big part of why we chose to stay, as we’d visited before (though not previously as hotel guests).
The room was snug but exactly what we expected, clean and comfortable for a short city break. The evening bar staff were particularly lovely on New Year’s Eve. We went there to get food and they were very accommodating, especially when it came to allowing us to join in and enjoy the musician playing in the bar. That really added to the experience and made the evening feel special.
Unfortunately, the one downside of our stay was an uncomfortable and unwelcoming experience with some of the breakfast restaurant staff the following morning. Breakfast wasn’t included in our package, but we were more than happy to pay. The initial interaction felt unnecessarily hostile, which was disappointing.
However, I do want to note that the situation was resolved very quickly by the restaurant manager, who handled it professionally, kindly and generously. Once resolved, we really enjoyed our breakfast and the rest of the morning and didn’t leave with a bad taste in our mouth, after an otherwise lovely stay.

The quality of the service - it seems very forgetful. I paid for breakfast and was sometimes offered it, sometimes not (there is no buffet, it is brought to your table). I ordered dinner at 21:40 (late arrival) and had to listen to the staff debating over the phone with the kitchen if they can even offer me a sandwich. Yesterday I ordered dinner at 18:45 and lost all hope around 21:00. I am not the type to feel comfortable prompting people, but if you do not mind it, then for you it will be a good stay
