It was all good. We liked the pub atmosphere and the windows kept the noise out, however, if you are a light sleeper, this might not be the right accommodation for you. Steep and narrow stairs (but we knew that before booking).

Our accommodation was as expected for the double room for our two night stay. The pictures online were accurate, minus the flowers :), and the write up of what was offered was true. The towel warmer was fabulous. The bathroom is the best part of the room for sure. We were on the 3rd floor and the stairs up are steep and narrow. We were delighted that our bags were carried up for us at check in. The bed was fairly comfortable, the linens a bit on the rough side, & the pillows were fine. Housekeeping does come in and they did a great job. The room is above the pub area so you do hear some music, laugher, chatter, and outside noise. We enjoyed the Guinness at the pub and the Irish music. The location is perfect for walking to many tourist venues and restaurants. We felt safe walking during the day and evening.

The location in a less touristy part of Dublin surrounded by choices for food & drink was appreciated. Being upstairs from a popular pub with live traditional music every night a highlight for us. Bar keeps were super friendly and helpful, as well as the people we met while there.
You must be aware that the room access is up a steep narrow stairway, but manageable by us, both active 70s travelers. The bath & room simple, yet quite comfortable, totally worth the experience if you want a more local feel while in Dublin.

Was checked in on street. Gave the wrong surname for ref to the bouncer. Few minutes later, a man came out with reservations book. Gave him my other name once I decked my error . I wasn't quite ready with my booking information on account of us being on the street. He snapped the book closed and went off to get the key- clearly irritated. The bouncer shook his head at me like I was a joke. 200 quid + to be made feel like an intern on my first day at work. Was raised in a family -run hotel. I've never seen the like .

This place was a bit pricey but well worth it for the experience. The world famous pub was awesome to unwind in before walking upstairs for the evening. Every night, random musicians come to play authentic celtic music together. Windows were surprisingly soundproof. No elevator but we had assistance with our luggage both up and back down. Absolutely everyone was super nice. Our kids had room 1 which was rather large with two beds.
We had a tiny room (#2) with a tiny(full) bed, tiny bathroom, no air conditioning and we ran out of toilet paper on the first night. But really, who cares?! We stayed at THE O'Donoghue's!!!!!

What could be better than staying directly at one of the best Irish pubs? Live music every night, a great atmosphere, and only a few steps up the stairs to be in bed. Amazing location. Comfortable bed. Windows really blocked the noise. We slept so well here (though the Guinness helped!).
Quite a small room, but plenty of space for two people. The carpet could’ve been a little cleaner but otherwise things were quite clean.

Being above a noisy bar you’d expect some noise. It was louder on Thursday night than it was on Wednesday. What we didn’t expect was the noise level of the other guests going to their rooms and even in their rooms after what must have been a fun evening.
