Pogerola is a small place and we really liked it. You could reach Amalfi city by walking down the hills (there are few different paths), but to go up we always decided to take the bus :). There is a lot to do around (beautiful beaches, many walking paths with famous Sentiero degli Dei). All Amalfi Coast cities/villages have something interesting to offer. We visited also Pompei and Capri during our stay. It was a perfect time! Thank you.
The road to the property is very narrow, so be prepared. And please notice, that there are also quite many steps to go down to the apartment from parking place (exactly as described). I had almost zero mobile connection and wi-fi was not stable.

The view was from the terrasse of the inn was out of this world. We both took lots of great shots. The hostess was very helpful and prepared a good breakfast. We got to meet the owners who were visiting from Rome. They were very kind and answered all our questions. The bed was very comfortable & enjoyed taking a dip in the jacuzzi.
We took the bus from the ferry to the bed 'n breakfast and were told to get off the bus at the stop called Fort Apache. We told the bus driver where we needed to get off. However, there is no sign saying Fort Apache and when we got off we were on a narrow winding road with traffic passing in both directions. However, we were very near the entrance and the gate was open and we climbed up quite a lot of stairs to get to the reception area where we were greeted warmly.
Despite having a great view, it is not a situated in a place that easily or safely accessible by foot or even bus and there are no restaurants in the area. Your best bet , if you don't have a car is to take a taxi. We discovered walking trails that lead to the main port where there are lots of restaurants but still you have to walk some part of the way on the narrow winding road with the traffic buzzing by. In addition, these trails are not clearly indicated.

Ah, what a lovely stay that was. We were greeted by our amazing host who explained everything in such a great detail, also suggested few things and gave us information on local places and public transport and some other general things specific to the area. The view from our top floor terrace studio apartment was breath taking, we had the whole place to ourselves. Kitchen, although smaller in size was well equipped, we were able to cook few breakfasts and even made bolognese with local products bought at a supermarket in Amalfi town. Our host also remembered me mentioning my boyfriends birthday being soon on the check in and took a note of that. We had couple of lovely ladies bring us a small Prosecco to enjoy on his actual birthday - what a lovely detail. Shower with all amenities, some complimentary ground coffee and milk and few small things for our breakfast. We would be coming back again whenever we are visiting Amalfi next time! Thank you!
Be prepared - the whole area has a poor phone signal and 4/5G . The wifi at the property was slow and had a weak signal throughout. But take it as a sign to disconnect from the world and enjoy the now..

The view and balcony were amazing, and for the price we paid we were delighted with the apartment. Close to the lovely town of Pogerola, the apartment felt like an escape from the touristy areas of the Amalfi coast. The hosts were readily available on WhatsApp and sorted any problems we had very quickly. The apartment is close to a SITA bus stop which made getting around so much easier (and cheeper!).
All round I would recommend Al Poggio Antico for your stay at the Amalfi Coast. Excellent value for money.
The kitchen was suitably stocked with what was needed for the minimal cooking that we did, salt and pepper as a minimum and perhaps olive oil would have gone down a treat.
Although not the fault of the property, more the nature of Amalfi itself, I would not recommend this property for anyone who struggles with steps. There are 3 lots to get out of the property alone and so although I would not let this put you off if you are fit and able (makes you feel less guilty about that gelato) I would consider this if you are planning on going in the hotter months.

We had a large terrace overlooking the sea and it exceeded all expectations. Also, we had our own terrace in the garden.
The apartment is very comfortable/modern.
This is the place where you want to linger and not go to the beach, because it's so good to be in the apartments.
Also, I want to note that I liked the snacks that were included in the room - these are jams and croutons. We also had milk. I appreciate this kind of service.
As for all the necessary utensils, there are more than enough.
I definitely recommend this location. You can also get here by public transport as well.

For us it was not something that we did not like because it was a place with peace and quiet, but the location is not the best if you don’t rent a motorcycle or car because the bus only comes every 30 minutos and because of the traffic it’s not a fast ride.

The apartment was exactly what we expected. Very quiet location was the main thing for us, but be prepared to do a LOT of walking )) 210 steps up to the village and 992 steps down to the coast. But there always the bus for those who likes the comfort.The owners/managers extremely helpful. Any questions were sorted within an hour. Towels were changed like in a 4 star hotel. Great Italian coffee, fresh milk, jam and toasts were supplied for the morning breakfast.
As an advise for future guests UK/EU adapters will not work as Amalfi has a bit different sockets.
Thank you Amalfi for a warm welcome and hope to see the coast again
Please do not take it as a dislike just a suggestion.
Coming to a sunny Amalfi we never thought to take an umbrella with us. Having one in the wardrobe will do a trick for a rainy day.

Al Poggio Antico was a great place to stay. The apartment is situated in Pogerola - a village located outside of Amalfi. We were slightly apprehensive about staying outside of Amalfi town but were very relieved to have done so! Pogerola is beautiful and situated in the hills above Amalfi with stunning views of the coastline below. The village itself has several restaurants and bars with breathtaking views and without the crowds of Amalfi town. The locals were so helpful, kind and friendly and as a result the atmosphere of the village is really lovely
The apartment is spacious and has a kitchen which has some limited equipment for cooking meals. The bathroom didn’t have a bath but had a good shower. The private balcony with a small table and chairs and 2 sun loungers was amazing and the view is simply breathtaking.
Entsa the house keeper was very helpful when we arrived and helped with sorting a scooter for the remainder of our trip.
We would definitely recommend Al Poggio Antico to anyone looking to enjoy some peace and quiet in one of the hidden jems of the Amalfi coast.

I would only suggest going here if you don't mind walking and climbing up stairs (bus) or don't mind to rent a scooter. We went here by scooter, which was for us the best option, but it is an expensive option (+-€60 a day).

The view / setting of the property was stunning! Really easy to get the bus from amalfi, and the option of walking (about 25/30mins down steps or 45mins up steps). Overall a great choice for exploring Amalfi.
The bed mattress was very very hard. Which made sleeping quite uncomfortable.

the view was lovely and this was the best aspect of the place.
Firstly the wifi is terrible so if you need to do even a little work on your vacation its impossible. There was no fridge freezer, so can't have ice for your drinks or keep anything frozen, no microwave, kitchen cooker and fan extractor were not working, so self-catering is a disaster. Additionally your not allowed any disposable BBQs there either so cooking options are very poor. Also, note to get to your apartment you have to defend and ascend over 200 steep steps so this is NOT for the faint-hearted and you need to be fit for older unfit people it's not advised to stay here there are many more available options in this area better priced and way better facilities. also to get to it from the main road is a long walk a couple of km, seems closer but yet again it's a very steep climb. if you go by car there is parking but the road is extremely narrow and very easy to scrape the sides of your car against others and the short wall. again this is not for the faint-hearted. The beds are very uncomfortable and if you want internet its terrible you can't work with it. lastly, if you have noisy neighbours at night you can hear every word they say on the balcony or in your room.

Very nice property that had a clear view right down to the sea. Plenty of space and an outside patio. Very quiet at night. A choice of restaurants nearby. Although away from Amalfi center the relaxing place to stay is more acceptable with the facilities offered, space to relax and enjoy the outstanding view to the sea. The hosts were very helpful and made it more enjoyable to staying there.
Expensive taxi to get to property. Later used a bus service that ran one an hour down to Amalfi Center. You have to be fairly fit as there are 176 steps upto bus stop!

The property is on a steep hill (like most of the area) and there are lots of stairs to access to the apartment, I wouldn’t recommend if mobility is a concern. No washing machine.

This location has a very beautiful view.
Indeed there are several stairs on which you need to go up and down (depending if you are leaving the location or coming back to it) in order to reach the bus station and for some of you effort might be needed, but it is worth doing it if your health condition allows it. It is not impossible at all.
Before we arrived at this location I read some reviews in which some people were saying that they had to wait several times for the bus as the connection from Pogerola to Amalfi and viceversa is not that good. From our opinion it was not an issue at all as you can organize in order to catch the bus back and forth to the location.
The warmth of the owner and of the staff meant a lot. They were always ready to help with everything we needed.
We recommend this location if you want to visit Amalfi coast.

101 steps from front door to road. About 200 steps from there to the village which disproves the advertised claim to be a 5 minute walk there. We only used public transport so with our average age of 72 we had a real logistical problem. The owners were not sympathetic as we had hoped that being local they would have offered to get our luggage to the bus stop.

We did the walk trail down to Amalfi town. It was about 1000 steps down but a lovely walk. Small town of Pogerola had some lovely little restaurants. The pizza place especially was very good and great staff. There are a lot of steps though! There is a local bus that takes you to Amalfi but only runs half hourly during the week. Bus drivers aren’t very helpful at all. We had the locals help us more. You cannot buy tickets on the bus. You can buy from the local shop.

It was incredibly clean, well taken care of and such a cozy and cute design on the inside. My husband and I felt so at home while being here, we didn’t want to leave. Also the view is BREATHTAKING. We would sit out on our own private balcony for hours every morning just looking at the incredible view. You’re so high up and have a perfect view of the water. If you are thinking about staying in Amalfi I can’t recommend this place enough!! If my husband and I ever come back to Amalfi we will stay here every time! Also the host went above and beyond with making our stay so special! She has great communication, is so kind and is the definition of true Italian hospitality. My husband and I felt so taken care of and welcomed. Best host we’ve ever had and most beautiful property we’ve ever stayed at!!

We loved the location in Pogerola away from super busy Amalfi. Pogerola had a few great restaurants and a couple of food shops for basics . The apartment had a great balcony with a fantastic view. The staff were very welcoming and went out of their way to help with anything we needed like an iron, more coat hangers and printing off train tickets. It was great value for money!
The bed was very creaky!

The views ?
This place is not exactly on the Amalfi Coast, but a good 20 mins bus ride uphill, followed by another 15 min hike to a small town called Pogerola, but the views from the balcony will melt your heart after the long wait for the infrequent buses, and the hike.
Simple, clean and decently spacious house with a functional kitchen (of course you need to hike uphill for 15 mins to the nearest grocery store and then back down).
Location was a huge disappointment. We had to plan our entire itinerary around bus timings- the last bus on a Sunday is at 10pm, and then you have a hike to undertake so you can't really be out in your heels till late at night. You waste a lot of your precious vacation time travelling to and from this place, which is just not ideal.
Maybe if you want to live on top of a hill in a little villa with sea view, this might make sense, and of course you'll be indoors if it starts raining, in which case you'll find a tiny screen in the bedroom as TV.

The location is not great, there a LOT of stairs, to the apartment, to go to the store. It’s very hard to get to the place and travel around if you don’t have a car or a bike. It is far away from central amalfi
