The breakfast is not really worth the extra price - it was 10 euro when we stayed. The sink got clogged at times, probably just an easy fix.

It is an old hotel, so there are some things that show its age. I mostly did not like the control of the shower head and the small fridge.

From the moment we entered the first step of the hotel it felt warm and cost .the receptionist whose name is Camilla was absolutely lovely and nothing was a bother for her . Camilla helped with our bags from ground level to level one where the reception is and from there a lift to our room on level 3 .My dad who is 80 and travelling with me did not have to much problem navigating the stairs to level 1 . The shower at first was blocked and wouldnโt drain so mentioned this to Camilla and was fixed instantly . We couldnโt comment on the breakfast as we didnโt do breakfast as we wanted to venture out . The dining area though for breakfast did look good . Upon check out Camilla called a taxi for us and helped again with the bags down the flight of stairs and she walked with us to the exact location of the where the taxi was waiting to make sure we knew where to go . She was so caring I couldnโt help but give her a hug . The location is perfect and in walking distance to many things . My dad found it quite easy to get around . Make sure you do the red express train up to st Luca . Not to be missed . Thankyou Camilla and staff for a memorable time at your hotel

Right in the middle of the Old City in Bologna, between the Two Towers and the St. Petronius square, an excellent base to explore everything of interest. Close to the Railway Station too and to the Airport bus. Dozens of places to eat within a 10 minutes walk radius, yet located on a narrow back street which was surprisingly quiet at night. The room appearance was keeping up with the historical building and the breakfast was excellent. Large walk-in shower, bidet etc. were a plus.

Room was small but comfortable. Enjoyed having a window to look out onto the street! Aircon was excellent!

The location right in the history center. Easy walk to Piazza Maggiore and other sites. Also easy to get to city buses. Room was charming with wooden decorated ceiling and floor to ceiling window. Helpful front desk staff. Quiet room.
The hotel is showing its age. The room could use some new paint. The bedspread was visibly worn out in places. Housekeeping didn't leave any soap or body wash one day. Front desk staff got some for me. Also my deodorant went missing. Maybe thrown away accidently? Different front desk staff didn't quite understand what happened, but told me where I could buy some. It wasn't clear how to indicate if you wanted new towels. Other hotels have a sign to explain. You do have to climb stairs about two flights to the reception.

Needs better air conditioning, and significant cleaning. It appears you have black mold in the bathrooms, and if it isn't the entire bathroom needs to be thoroughly cleaned; it was pretty bad. Also you have to fix the bathtub; the plastic stick that pokes out of the end of the tub where a valve used to be.

The hotel location is fabulous. Right in the centre and with lots of little shops, bars and restaurants around. Camilla and Letizia are wonderful on reception and will do anything to help you. Itโs a quirky hotel and has been a hotel in some form since the nineteenth century, recently restored, it isnโt a modern hotel but it is full of character. My room (206) was perfect for one with a 1.5 size bed, enough room to move about in and a good size en-suite.
There was nothing I didnโt like but you have to go expecting quirkiness and charm rather than modern facilities.

The staff were all very welcoming and helpful, the location was fantastic and breakfast was good, if a little unpredictable sometimes - it was possible to arrive too early for breakfast before the food and drink had been laid out. The dรฉcor was slightly eccentric and added to the charm of the hotel. It had 'personality' whereas many similar priced hotels are characterless.
The hand held shower in our room was not so easy to use - a wall mounted one might be better. It was not a problem for us as we are still mobile but the lack of a lift at the ground level might create problems for people who have difficulty with staircases

Wonderful location right in the heart of the historic centre but very quiet room, slept very well. Spacious room (booked a double but were given a triple), authentic decor, comfortable bed, quality bed linen and towels. Good breakfast, friendly staff.
The radiator in the bathroom was rusty and the silicone around the bath was coming away from the tiles. There was no shower screen or curtain. The room was generally clean but there was some dust behind the bedside cabinets and the stone tiles on the bathroom floor would benefit from a deep clean.

The location is above a noisy alley - the fishmonger starts prepping at 5:30 am. And the restaurants are noisy in the evening. The room was immaculate; I was just nervous about the travertine stone with holes in a shower.

This hotel is horrible.
The entrance way was narrow, with a tight flight of stairs up to the reception area. We had to carry our (large and heavy) suitcase up them ourselves before anyone noticed we were even there. The room was tiny, with nowhere to put anything. The so-called wardrobe did not have a door, and there were no drawers at all. Everything was cheap and shoddy. The toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall. The room was filthy with a thick layer of dirt along the skirting board. The tooth mug had a vile deposit in the bottom.
Breakfast was in a tiny, crowded, uncomfortable space, with very little choice, and a waitress who only appeared if one of the guests went to get her, from up a flight of stairs.
The stair rods on the carpet stairs were loose and a major trip hazard.
The price was shockingly and outrageously expensive for the cheap and nasty hotel it was. We had booked three nights but left after the first. We were told we would get a reduction on the >ยฃ1000 I had paid, but we have not received it.
We found out on arrival that there was a large industrial fair on in Bologna at the time, which is presumably why the price was elevated, but no circumstance could possibly justify this ridiculous price. I think your site should advise of this kind of thing on booking: I had assumed that because the price was high, we were going to be in a high end establishment. How wrong I was!

Albergo delle Drapperie is an excellent hotel very close to a lot of historic monuments, shops and restaurants so the location was ideal for our first visit to Bologne.
The front desk staff were all extremely helpful. They happily ordered taxis for us and were very responsive to any request.
Our room size was on the small size but as we exploring the city most of the day, it wasn't a concern. From what I understand there were other rooms that were larger so our room may not have been atypical of what the hotel has to offer.
The lift only commences from the first floor so stairs need to be negotiated from the ground to first floor. However the staff happily volunteered to carry our bags if we wished. In our case, it was not necessary.

The perfect place from which to explore the foodie heart of Italy's food capital. Amazing food shops and stalls on the doorstep and excellent restaurants within easy walking distance. Indeed everything is within easy walking distance, including the historic towers, museums, squares. And with Bologna's wonderful covered walkways (porticos) you can happily wander around even if it's raining. Friendly and helpful staff. Camila was great!
Our room on the top floor was a bit cramped and its entrance hall could do with a little TLC but we enjoyed staying there.

Very last minute booking in Bologna and they accommodated everything. The location is very central to everything in Bologna. You walk out the door and you're in the center of the markets. The room is nice and cozy. 1-2 people in a queen room is a nice space. I did not eat breakfast, however it did look nice. There is an additional charge for breakfast.
The bed could have been slightly more comfortable. But I think this is overshadowed by the rest of the perks of staying here.

Very noisy into early hours, even with windows closed. Tiny room. Old door with electric lock, but no double lock. Frayed at the edges with multi plugs and wires. Nowhere to put clothes apart from a few hangers. No drawers. No mattress cover.... Good bathroom but shower head needs update.

Breakfast was typical for European taste. Perfectly OK but nothing special
Extremely comfortable bed.
Stayed in room off the breakfast room so disturbed in morning when staff setting up for breakfast.
Shower room a little grubby ' doors didn't close properly and toothug obviously hadn't been washed for sometime. Previous occupants underwear in bottom of wardrobe so room maid didn't do a very thorough clean.

The hotel is situated in a central location, which allows you to easily explore the city center and points of interest. It is very stylish, with boutique like decor. Good room and bathroom sizes, very clean.
The breakfast was very basic, plus we were told not to drink a beverage that was on the tables because it was not fresh and needed to be changed :|

Unfortunately there was a water problem at this hotel but the Team at the Albergo went out of their way to look after me and relocate me to another hotel. No trouble to me at all and the hotel I was moved to was very lovely as well. I would recommend the service at the Albergo delle Drapperie and all facilities at the Hotel Internazionale were I was relocated to.

The breakfast was reasonable. The location was the best part. When you walk out of the hotel you head into a very cute little road lined with beautiful shops filled with flowers, produce and meats and cheeses. It looks like itโs right out of a movie!
The room was small and noisy, the bathroom was not very clean and the shower didnโt drain and overflowed all over the floor.

Excellent location in quiet, car-free medieval city centre; hotel door opening onto street of market stalls; bird song and street sounds in the morning from a lovely room up under the roof. Lovely, helpful staff; great base for our 4 days in Bologna.
Breakfast room decor probably temporary undergoing refurbishment; a minor factor in an otherwise lovely stay.

Superb location, turn left right and bars and restaurants all around. Plenty of storage in our room to hang clothes. Despite comment about avoiding conferences this is not the hotels fault but it can make a big difference on the room rate so worth looking at different dates if you have flexibility. We look around the neighbourhood at other hotels as we walked around but this in an excellent location and would go back here.
Breakfast room was small and full on our first morning so gave it a miss as plenty of establishments in the vicinity which do a great breakfast, did us favour really! Chose the wrong time of year to book as big conference was on and which affected room rates, many hotels do this not a criticism of Albergo delle Drapperie specifically.

Excellent location in the best part of old town. Old hotel, so some facilities dated. Comfortable bed and pillows. Staff helpful. Breakfast could be better. Tables were not cleared after previous guests and we had to clear them ourselves. Poor savoury selection but very good choice of cakes.
