The room was very nice, apart from having nowhere to put our cases there than the floor (like most hotels, to be fair). The bed was very comfortable and generous in size and the bathroom stylish and modern.

Should not be classed as a hotel, it was more like a room rental. There was no reception 'so we can keep you safe'. Really? We had to unlock the building to access the room - four doors to unlock in all. Breakfast was at a cafe on the other side of the Piazza Maggiore; nice location but minimalist 'Italian breakfast' (you can of course pay for additional fare). It felt more like an Air B&B than a hotel. To check in we had to message the proprietor and there was an extra charge if you arrive after 8pm - because there is no reception! There is a small lounge for communal use and beverage-making facilities. But hotel it ain't.
