I was charged an extra 300 dollars to get aircon- while I understand I received a bigger room nowhere did it state that there was no air con also the room smelt like cigarette smoke - in the room I paid extra for the carpet was so dirty I had to wear shoes all the time - disgusting -Re extra payment I tried to contact management and didn’t get anywhere and I tried to contact booking.com and could get anyone to help - very poor on this platform and by the hotel to behave in this way

I only liked how well located it was and, to say something else, some of the views you could have of the city. But not much more.
The worst thing of all was that during the 3 days I stayed there, I couldn’t take a shower with hot water. I came in November and it’s cold, and the first thing I want to do after spending the day outside is to take a good shower — but I couldn’t even do that. On top of that, the excuse they gave me was that the boiler is downstairs and since my room is the last one, the hot water doesn’t reach it properly. That seems like a very poor excuse to me, and they didn’t even try to find a different solution. I had to pay the same as everyone else without even getting a basic service like being able to shower properly — I find that unacceptable. The rest of the issues are more superficial, like for example the hotel being very old and in need of a bit of a facelift (my room literally looked like a cross between Twin Peaks and a soviet bunker). The breakfast is also quite mediocre. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

It is indeed a dated hotel. Lobby is ok, but room itself was really old. Shower holder was broken, and in general you had to wait for a long time before hot water becomes at least warm. Heating was only from evening to morning. Overall, I wouldn't rate is as 3 stars hotel, it is indeed a budget hotel, but even for this category it was way too shabby. It is more or less ok if you don't spend much time in the room.

The electricity network is very old, sockets partially broken and not compatible with European regular plugs. More importantly there is no FRIDGE and no KETTLE for boiling/hot water. This is really ennoying for people who travel and have food special needs.

Hotel seems to have a special charm and is beautiful.
Excellent location - Hotel is in the heart of City and close to Airport.
The noise was not great, I could hear from other rooms. The Hotel is quite old and could do with an upgrade in some areas. It was a bit pricey considering these issues. It was also very cold (in Jan) extra blankets are provided and there is a heater, but it was not enough for me, personally, I think a modern aircon would be ideal as it got -3 degrees and below.
But in all fairness I had a good experience in Bologna and the Hotel, I would book this Hotel again if it is available at lower costs (perhaps start of Jan is high-season).
