A great location if you need to catch a ferry the next day. The hotel is located opposite the port, but still with great views of bustling Genoa, so it didn't feel at all industrial. Parking is available (at a fee - I think it was about €14) and if the main parking area is full (as it was when we stayed, there is an overspill to the rear, with access directly into the hotel. Efficient check in and a good room, with a terrace with views across the city. As we were only staying one night, we opted to eat in the hotel restaurant - absolutely great with good quality food and wine. Comfortable bed and clean bathroom. No complaints at all. Easy to access the car ferry port from the hotel.

Comfy beds, parking on site, last-minute booking was possible for us. Burgers, grilled meat and vegetables at the restaurant are absolutely amazing.
Area around the hotel is very unpleasant: highway ramps, multiple roads, a roundabout parking near the port. On the lower floors, this is the view you get.
It wasn't a problem for us as we just needed a stay for one night and arrived late.
There are no good dining alternatives around the hotel.

This is a good spot if you have to catch the ferry. Or ferry departed at 09:00 so we had to be there at 07:00. The receptionist offered us a breakfast box, very helpful! The room was also spacious!
I wouldn’t book this to visit Genoa. It’s in a bad neighbourhood with emphasis on “hood”. The hotel itself feels a bit eeky. It would have been nice to know where to park beforehand.

Location is ok, still walkable into the old town and port area- not pretty. Our room overlooked the back of the building so it was best to leave the curtains closed. We were put in a Business Suite as they didn’t have any standard rooms left, which we thought would be good, however the corridor to get to these rooms is very dark and dingy, marks on the carpet- it needs renovating. The room itself was very big, with a small kitchenette that we couldn’t access, had to request tea and coffee making facilities, and no mini bar as stated, but we did have a fridge and they gave us some water. The shower wasn’t working on our first night, but this was rectified by the second. Didn’t bother having breakfast as we went out. Compared to other hotels we’ve stayed at on this trip that were cheaper, it could be better, but it’s ok.
Dark corridors to business suite, stained carpet in corridors. Bathroom needs full renovation not just a new sink unit and paint on the walls. Provide a mini-bar as stated.

I always loved holiday inn and their policy to help with tooth brush etc in case you forgot to bring them.
Not at all impressed by the staff. Not sure if they were just students doing a job for some money or fully trained staff. The listed phone +398662663306 doesn't work. Eventually, they answered at +390102534060. If the website provided the necessary info, I would not need to call or message.
The worst breakfast I have seen. The scrambled eggs were watery.
The servers were extremely inefficient.Eg:When he brought more croissants, he moved them one by one(at least 20 small ones), instead of replacing the whole tray.
The cappuccino tasted horrible. Not sure if the milk was spoiled or the coffee was just bad.

The Dove in the bathroom.
We made this booking in the Holiday Inn specifically as we had very good experiences with your chain and we trusted you. We do not, anymore. The hotel is in a horrible location and the standard of the hotel is very poor. I really cannot understand how can IHG group categorise it as a 4-star hotel. Furthermore the hotel is advertising in a misleading way on booking.com.
The hotel is located in a huge intersection, where the motorway runs at the height of the 3rd floor, beneath that, there are busy roads consisting of multiple lanes. The traffic and the noise is horrible. There is no point in trying to go for a walk anywhere nearby as the area is dirty and very run down.
On booking.com it was highlighted that parking is available on site for EUR 16 / day, however pre-booking a parking spot is not possible. Due to this we were convinced that this possibility is given. After the booking was made, the hotel sent an email to us, stating that the parking in the garage is not guaranteed as they have limited spaces. If we cancelled the booking we would be charged 1 night by the hotel. It turned out that only approximately 16-20 cars can fit in the garage, which is very low compared to the size of the hotel and the area leading to the garage is horrible. Also there is no direct access to the hotel from the garage. This is very far from providing correct and accurate advertising.
The room we received (for EUR 218 / night) was in an acceptable state, including the bed and the bedsheet. However, judging from the dirty sticked on the bottom of my slippers, the cleaning lady should use the vacuum cleaner more often. The temperature control of the room was not working at all and the window was not also up for a much needed repair.
We lived on the 6th floor and in more than one occasion we needed to wait around 20 minutes to be able to get down to the lobby as the 2 small lifts cannot serve the amount of people in the hotel.
I do not recommend the bar or restaurant of...

Parking was a bit tricky but worked. I liked the view on the port, and that the window was easy to open. Good breakfast, thanks for support with ordering pizza in the evening.

The room was spacious and clean. The hotel was located very near the train station and cruise port, which was important to us. The included breakfast was diverse and delicious.
I prefer a bathtub, and this hotel did not have that available to us. Of course, many hotels no longer have them and it is a personal preference.

Location is not ideal, difficult to reach by car (driving in Genoa can become complicated in general) and entering/exiting parking was complex. An authentic driving experience in Genoa though :P

We liked everything but mainly the people and the food. The receptionist was very professional, the barman/restaurant waiter was super, and the food was very good. We also appreciated the garage.

We had a very pleasant experience in this beautiful,clean, professionally run by Holiday inn. It has a beautiful view overlooking the harbour of Genoa. Staff were friendly and cooperative
