- the hotel is very close, literally opposite, to Amsterdam Centraal. so we walked around the downtown area both in the day and later in the night.
- the train theme is fascinating. hope to see more trains and info from asia.
- the front desk is 24 hours and no need to worry when to return or how to get into the hotel when you go out at night
- the rooms are on the smaller side but this is city center so that meets expectation
- we didn't seem to find fans in the bathroom? maybe we should look harder? or am i mixing up hotels after coming back from the trip? :)

Loads of train related photos from all over and small train models everywhere. Coffee / tea / fresh water available 24/7. Also reception manned at all times. Rooms small (accommodation generally is super small in Amsterdam) but clean.
Breakfast could do with a bit more variety. No station with hot food. All tasty and fresh though.

The location was excellent, within a few blocks of central station and easy to walk even with road construction! I loved that I arrived at 8:00am, after an overnight flight, and they checked me in, stored my bags, and offered me wifi and breakfast even though I could not get into my room until later in the day. The elevator to the room was a surprise, and the room itself was comfortable and compact, but bigger than expected.
I would appreciate an outlet close to the head of the bed, but it is not critical.

The single room I stayed in was notably small and felt somewhat stuffy, with a low ceiling that gave it more of an attic room vibe than a typical hotel accommodation. The bathroom facilities left much to be desired. The sink was extremely small and poorly positioned under a shelf, making it difficult to use comfortably. The drainage in the shower area was severely clogged, requiring me to frequently interrupt my shower to allow the water to drain properly. In terms of value for money, I found it to be somewhat lacking. Considering the size and condition of the room, as well as the issues with the bathroom facilities, the price seemed disproportionately high.

We were looking to stay in a non-chain local hotel within walking distance of the main train station and various sites. The A Train worked out perfectly. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Love the train themed eating area. Lots of unique touches. The breakfast was a typical small continental style which was perfect for us. We mentioned to the front desk that we were checking out before breakfast time and they graciously set up and let us have a breakfast early before departure. We had an issue with a site seeing tour we had booked and the manager called the tour company for us to help get it straightened out. Above and beyond! Highly recommend!!

I didn't like that you had to leave your key with the hotel staff at the front. I believe it was for security purposes, but it was not for me.

The bed was extremely comfortable, the location of the hotel was perfect
The shower was not separated from the rest of the bathroom, and, as I'm quite tall, I had to crouch a bit for the water to hit me

It's really like all the other guests say: It's a VERY unique train-themed accommodation with super-friendly staff, comfortable beds, air condition, elevators and great breakfast! This place is a gem and I'll definitely come back, when visiting Amsterdam again!
