Rosalia's Menagerie Cocktail bar & InnUpstairs is located in a renovated 17th century canal house. There is free Wi-Fi and each room has a free nonalcoholic drink and snack bar. All rooms have a Nespresso coffee maker, a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with rain shower.
Breakfast is served in the morning. The hosts can lend you electrical adapters, telephone chargers, umbrellas and English maps or tourist guides. It takes a 1-minute walk to the Nieuwmarkt Square, you have a direct metro connection to Amsterdam Central Station.

The location can’t be beat - superbly accessible to walking and public transportation to all parts of the city. And the owners/staff are super helpful and accommodating. Cannot say enough about the owners and how lovely and welcoming they were. I would stay here again - it is charming and quaint and they have a bar that feels like a speakeasy with great bartenders who know their craft.
Little things in the room. Do not expect a high end “hotel” room - it is a B&B with 6 rooms. If you stay in a room with a canal view expect to hear a good bit of street noise late at night - mainly people talking loudly right below your room. The lighting is a bit hard to work with. No data ports, be sure you’ve have converters from 110V. Takes a bit for hot water to come up but it is plentiful and hot; hairdryer only had cool air, and if your not tall hard to dry hair and use mirror in the bathroom. But the bed was comfortable and room was clean and spacious.

Loved the cozy space of the bar and the excellent staff. It was much more quiet than what I was afraid off once I realized just how close to the red light district and coffee houses it is. The room was adequate a little hard for two adults to move around but cozy.
The bed was not firm enough for us and after a week we both felt the aches and pains in our body.

Just what I hoped for—European feel with a modern boho vibe. Breakfast was all fresh made to order. Lots of well-balanced, healthy food that tasted great. At night I loved trying the different drinks and chatting with friendly locals and visitors. Perfect location.

very good location
Noisy place , i asked the garden view in advance, but they cannot provide this kind of room . So with the canal view i received all noise from the bar , street , trash collecting early morning cars etc . Even earplugs cannot help in this situation . the room cleaning was "incredible" they are even not collected the wet towels from the floor. When i asked for the breakfast , a man of european appearance very rudely invited me to sit down and wait . after 5 min of waiting without any result i decided to have a breakfast in another place. And be careful with the stairs , it's more o less vertical and dangerous .

Location was perfect. Walk to everything. Such a unique and different place to stay. 6 rooms total. 2 on each floor located above a very cute and cozy bar based on a type of speak easy.
If you are noise sensitive then wear earplugs. They have a nose machine also. I liked hearing the laughter and party life.

Location is amazing. In the heart of everything. Delicious breakfast included that is served, every morning. Staff was mostly friendly. Rooms were clean and well stocked with everything you could need. Including drinks and snacks that are included.
Steps. We knew there were steps and no elevator, but the steps were very narrow and winding. Also the staff promised to bring down luggage and that didn’t happen. No one brought down our luggage and we had to do that ourselves at 6 am to leave for the airport.

Great location. Not noisy. One of the owners, a lady, was very kind. She gave detailed information about the room and the hotel. The place was very clean and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was sufficient, and the ingredients were delicious and of high quality.
It was enjoyable that there was a cocktail bar downstairs. I also really liked that the minibar was free and refilled every day.
Be careful with steep stairs. It would have been perfect if the shower was a bit more spacious and the water pressure a little stronger. But my rating is still 10 :)

This stay was a great location and walkable to just about everything. Very close to the Red Light District (which is an interesting area), but far enough away that it's mostly quiet. We did have loud voices we heard from the streets below us on multiple occasions. The breakfasts were good and a plus. The stairs are very narrow, but they carry luggage up to your room. We were the top floor. The view was nice of the canal.
The host was not there when we arrived by taxi. We called without an answer. We wasted time waiting for him to arrive. The breakfasts need to be changed up daily instead of preparing the same breakfast every day. It gets old after 4 days of eating the same breakfast IMO. The breakfast was good though.

Superb little place. The breakfast is great and accommodated my dietary requirements. Both the host and staff were very friendly and helpful. Always a great perk having a cocktail bar in your hotel too!
It’s a traditional building, so the windows are single glazed. It can be a bit cold. Perhaps a bigger heater would be better. The bathroom could do with a spruce up too. It all worked though and wouldn’t put me off returning again.

The location was fantastic, the breakfast was tasty, and the room lovely and quaint. The cocktail bar was really good (cocktails also very tasty!), and slipping through the 'secret' door to the Inn upstairs was cool! We were here to go to the Ziggo Dome to see Lady GaGa (AMAZING!!!) so the proximity to the Metro was a huge advantage.
Nothing - we were very happy with our stay, and would definitely look at staying here again next time we are in Amsterdam.

Perfect location for a truly relaxing stay. Although located in the city center, it remains an ideal place to unwind and enjoy some quiet time away from the crowds.
The selection of breakfast ingredients and the arrival/check-in process were somewhat confusing.
We didn’t mind, but it’s worth noting that the stairs are very narrow and steep.

We had a warm welcome in this small canalside boutique hotel . Low lighting , mirrors and bric a brac set a dramatic backdrop for the cocktail bar in which we enjoyed breakfast every morning. Rosalia's is in central Amsterdam , set amidst colourful shops and cafes .
Our 2 rooms upstairs were individually themed and impeccably clean . The beds were comfy and luxurious . Mine overlooked the busy canal and was surprisingly quiet . A substantial delicious breakfast was provided each morning.
The quirky historical building has no lift- we found out only after Booking (and payment). There were a few days of anxiety bouncing between Booking.com and the Owner about its suitability for our stay . We just about managed the steep stairs - they definitely aren't for the elderly frail and disabled (*us) or weak of spirit!

What wasn't there to like!! We were welcomed into this beautiful and unique menagerie like we were old friends. The rooms are larger than I was expecting for an old Amsterdam house, the bathroom was clean and the shower had great pressure. The bed for me is the highlight! I had better sleep here than I do at home. Breakfast is absolutely delicious and sets you up perfectly for the day!!
