The quirky 1970s vibe. The very friendly and helpful staff. The coziness of the hotel on a rainy evening. The delicious lamb dinner in the restaurant, cooked to perfection. The heated swimming pool for a pre breakfast swim and the hot tubs. The cooked breakfast with the lightest, fluffiest scrambled eggs.

Great stay at Copthorne Hotel Rotorua! Comfortable room with clean and cosy beds, friendly staff, and easy access to local attractions. The outdoor pool and spa areas were lovely and added to our relaxing visit. Would recommend for a convenient and pleasant stay in Rotorua.
Water bottles were not provided, the 3:00 pm check-in felt quite late, and the 10:00 am check-out time was too early.

Car parked in front of ground floor room with a sliding door to unload and loaf the car. Laundry facilities.
Needs a refurbishment, everything has been patched no jobs done properly. Room air conditioner wouldn’t cool had to use fan that was in the room, gym equipment broken, pool had tiles missing, whole property in poor state.

Pool spa was cold
Bed sheets not sure someone didn't sleep in the bed and it wasn't made, but it had crumbs mess in the sheets. The aircon cooling the ceiling not the room we had windows open. They gave a fan to blow the heat around we left early in the morning. Very uncomfortable sleep when the room is that hot.

The Pool was warm, and the staff friendly.
Broken equipment throughout the hotel, leaks in the roof, undercooked food at the restaurant. The rooms are dated but clean and tidy. The hallways are dark, floors sloping and maintenance is well behind on alot of work. Broken tiles around the pool and mould on the external walls.

Pool and spas were amazing so much fun for the kids. Rooms were good and comfortable enough.
Some rooms apparently had no working aircon and it was a struggle to find out if we would get a room with one working, with young children and in the middle of summer this is unacceptable! The receptionist tried to argue that there is no mention of aircon on booking.com as they have removed it but it is listed elsewhere directly on their website and confirmed in the Q&A section. Our aircon also automatically went from cold to hot 1 day and we had get someone to come look at it. Bathroom especially tub/shower in desperate need of an upgrade.
