Really nice resort but doesn’t appear to be maintained. Great shower but the rest of bathroom very tired and needs refresh.
Pool area could also do with an upgrade, full of weeds, and sun loungers falling apart.
Two out of three hot tubs and one of the two saunas didn’t work.

This hotel has lovely lake views . And a nice swimming pool. The rooms were spacious and well equipped .
The restaurant is closed on Monday evening, and it is quite a way to drive to the town to eat . Also the spar bath wasn't working in the bathroom. And we didn't find out until we had filled it up .

The view , what little view we had . Bed was comfortable
The curtain rail was hanging off the wall, we were given one towel each, one ply toilet paper and only one full roll. The trout flies were disgusting and sky stopped working completely . The jug didn't close and didn't turn off which was dangerous. The lawns and gardens were well over grown and around the pool looked awful with all the weeds . Really disappointed and we paid good money per night.

Breakfast was absurd: the coffee machine was broken, and it didn't allow coffee, cappuccino, etc. Only low-quality, savory foods. No sweets. The restaurant was closed on Mondays (and therefore no breakfast).
The bar (and only living room) was closed before 8:00 a.m. and after 9:00 p.m. We asked if we could play cards after 9:00 p.m. for two hours: we were refused.
On the day of departure, reception opened at 8:25 a.m., complicating our journey to Auckland Airport.

We booked a room with "an uninterrupted view of the lake." This suggests a balcony with nothing in between us and the lake except open space. The were 'glimpses' of the lake off to the left, but the view was of the pool and other guests balconies. The balcony was unusable as it was flooded due to rain and the drain was not working.

The mould in the shower. You could clearly see the patches on ceiling where there use to be lights. Hardly any channels worked on the TV. Trout flies we were warned about and told to keep the doors shut then entered the room and they were already in the room.

We loved our room.
There was very little staffing. The few people that were working did many different jobs. No one seemed to know basic information about the area to guide us. We’ve never experienced anything like it. Somedays things were working other days not. The pools were closed. Hot tubs dirty. Grounds neglected. We had a medical emergency and couldn’t get an ambulance to come there. Also we were “locked in”. No evening staffing. Long way out of town and tourist activities.

Just be aware of non biting trout flies.they can be a little irrirating when you leave the door open with a light on. The hotel gave good advice on combating these!

One morning there was no breakfast - without any warning!
My television wasn't working - so I wanted to call reception - but the phone wasn't working.
I walked to reception (luckily still there) and they tried but could not fix.
They offered me a room upstairs but that would involve packing my suitcases again and carrying them up the stairs.
Spa jacuzzi was also not working well, after we did get it going, it didn't turn off.

In all honesty we got the Temu version of the photos a lot of scam in grim in our room were missing parts to the Remote spa was dirty (I have called and advanced for it to be cleaned)

Great communication and support for rescheduling requests were very appreciated, check in staff were lovely and accomodating with requests and checkin.
The shower had great pressure and was spacious but that’s probably about it with regard to the stay overall.
Spacious room.
Comfy bed.
Had a private spa in our bathroom.
The pools weren’t hot pools as first thought.
Room was average and could do with some TLC.
Curtains were hard to open and close as the hooks on the rail were sticking.

Can't smell the sulfur from where you are staying. Really nice place to stay for a getaway out of town with peace and quiet.

I liked the location, our room and the restaurant.
The spa pool area really needs some work. The area needs cleaning. I remember this property having a large heated pool which was a huge feature.

Very comfy bed. Nice and quiet location with lovely lakefront walks right outside. Free use of spa pool. Delicious breakfast. Solid furniture. Nice strong shower. It's a good location outside of the busiest part of town but a quick drive when you want to go there and the redwoods on the way.
