Great location. Bags were held as our room wasn't ready. Umbrella was loaned from the front desk. Good selection at the bar.
When we arrived and paid, our card was automatically tapped to add on the surcharge. They 'confirmed' the surcharge, which we were surprised about and rejected this and manually put in the pin number.
After being there for a night, we got brunch the following day at the restaurant - where a 15% surcharge was added (it was a public holiday) - yes, even for guests. We are from nz, so while this wasn't a total surprise, it was absurd that we would be charged it whilst staying there. This also happened the following day for dinner, and after mentally adding 15% to our dinners while we were browsing the menu, we ultimately decided to leave after a conversation with the staff. This whole situation was upsetting that while being active guests were were then charged extra on top.

The milk was not good, was off. The menu was overpriced and minimal. I ordered steak, chips and spinach. Two sprigs of micro herbs was not spinach. We did see a load of uber eats deliveries from our balcony. Lower prices and make menu more appealing to have your clientele order in-house. I regret ordering room service for what we got.

The limited TV channels. Suggest removing TVs from some rooms as it does not provide decent TV viewing/options to those that can not sleep or need to be occupied until able to rest. TV channel options was a huge disappointment. Keeping busy was our way of being distracted to avoid wanting to watch TV.
Location on Wellington wharf. Close to restaurants and museum.
We love the art thru the hotel. This was big draw card for us to return.
We felt the hotel was tired and in need of refresh. We visited 10 years ago and it seemed nothing has changed.

Just the hall.
The bed was very uncomfortable, it was our weddings night, they knew it was but they didn’t make any effort to give us a nicer room.
The room had no personality, there were pieces of wall missed, brown stains on the wardrobe doors, the bed was a king bed with two beds attached, we could feel the hole between the beds, next day we woke up with sore back.
When we were living, no one at the reception asked about our stay, they got the key and said goodbye.

Our room was on the 1st floor and we heard loud thumping noises a lot. Also, there was a sewer type smell in our room. There was an air purifier running in the bathroom but every couple minutes it made a funny noise so we took the battery out. We told the staff about the smell on 2 different occasions and about the noise and our dissatisfaction with the room. We were thanked for our feedback but there was never any offer to do something about it. It was definitely not worth the cost of this room.

The room was just ok. We paid $365 for 1 night and it was not as nice as I had stayed in previously so I was disappointed. No plug points next to the bed. Absolutely no view. And the sink in the bathroom was cracked. Room 220.
We had dinner in the restaurant with friends as a table of 4. We were sat at the round table in the middle of the restaurant. I had specifically asked for a great table as this was a reunion. I had overhead lights right above me so it didn't feel intimate. And we were spaced out more than I would have liked due to the table being so big. I wish I had asked for a better table. I was disappointed. The atmosphere was flat as a result. The food and service was excellent though.

Good location.
I booked a gallery room which was very underwhelming with just two bland paintings. Some of the light switches were broken. The bed was soft and had no support. Room was very small and there was no place to put our luggage. Entrance to building was awkward and very busy. Parking expensive.

The buffet breakfast was woeful! Find a cafe locally. Location was ok. Opposite Te Papa gallery.
This QT hotel is not up to the regular QT hotel standard. Lack of furniture in rooms (one chair, no desk) no smart TV and poor lighting. Definitely not a 5 star hotel experience. Breakfast was woeful. I do not recommend QT Wellington.

The staff were super helpful and accommodating. Can't fault them. There was an issue with the room at first but they quickly sorted it out
The shower was barely warm..neither in the morning or night. Thankfully only stayed one night
Not the hotels fault but the room next door to us was partying on the balcony until gone midnight
